Overall was really disappointed with our experience - for a Michelin star restaurant, I was expecting a lot more. We went for brunch and not only was the food just OK two meals were sent out wrong, the coffee was cold and our server was slow and totally disengaged -- we had to ask multiple times for basic things (like filling our water glasses and getting us the bill). Will not waste my time going there again!

We went for brunch and we were underwhelmed particularly with the service, and the food was just okay. It’s hard to believe they earned a Michelin star.

Our server was super patient and pleasant but our hostess was VERY overbearing and quite frankly, rude. She reminded us twice of the fact that they needed the table at a certain time, hovering over us and counting down. We made a reservation well ahead of time and showed up on time so there was no need for that. We made sure not to order dessert so we’d be out of her way, but I’d recommend against her being guest-facing in general because her tone truly left a bad feeling about the meal overall (we are locals and loved Meadowsweet before).

We have been all over NYC this week for the Thanksgiving holiday. We are hardcore foodies and appreciate every experience. Meadowsweet was by far the best culinary experience of our trip. The service, atmosphere and most importantly the food was exceptional. We highly recommend this restaurant.

I agree with the previous reviews. The food was incredible but the host was incredibly rude. My party was celebrating a special occasion and we almost left we were treated with such extreme rudeness. I would have made this a regular spot in the neighborhood had it been inviting at all. For the price point of the food and drinks there should be some level of professionalism and expected service.

Excellent food! Well flavored with interesting preparation/accompaniments. Will definitely return and perhaps eat at the bar next time. Server was pleasant but there was short/impatient attitude detected across every employee encountered. No offer of coffee/tea etc with dessert. Hence he low service rating. Hospitality is important.

Service extremely poor. Don't advertise BYOB if you don't want a customer to bring their own wine and then pour it knowing full well it's half chilled, then ignore comments that it could be chilled more and continuously top up a 3/4 glass in order to sell more wine. Waiter then became stroppy when we did not go with his recommendations. Food was average at best and then questioned why only left a 10% tip, whereas if I was anywhere else I would have left no tip.

It was a great experience, specially having the same name as the Chef, his wife was heaven to talk to.
The only observation is the cork fee, we didn’t know it was per bottle :/ thought it was a flat rate.
Thanks for everything and see you soon.

We were seated 25 minutes late for a 9:00 PM reservation. That wasn't a huge problem, but the two couples seated next to us who were accommodated equally poorly were offered complementary champagne and were generally treated a lot more respectfully than we were; I don't know if its because I look young like a college kid, but there was a noticeable and unsatisfactory disparity in how were were treated. Take this trendy spot off of the Michelin list, please. Hands down the worst Michelin associated restaurant I have ever been to - food, vibe and service was not Michelin level. If you're rich and trying to blow your money on a hot spot, go here. If you want amazing food, look elsewhere.

The tasting menu was uniformly good, with a few dishes excellent. The wine pairings were appropriate, given the spectrum of food servings. In all, a very nice meal at a good price.

The food was absolutely delicious. I am a real foodie and I thought this was top notch. The drawback was the service. When we sat down no one came over to get our drink order, give us bread- nothing - we were ignored for at least 15-20 minutes no one came over. We had to flag our waitress down . I also was insulted when someone from the restaurant came over to the couple next to is to get their feedback on their dining experience asking what could have been done better and didn't ask us . Is that bc they knew the service slacked at the beginning ? It took 45 minutes fir us to get our appetizer.
That said, once the waitress came over it was smooth sailing but we shouldn't have experienced that at all.

I’ve been coming to Meadowsweet for a few years and something was just way off with this visit. Food came before drinks.. first two courses felt rushed and food quality did not seem as good as it was in the past. Oh well!

Went for brunch. The food was very good but with a fairly standard brunch menu, nothing really stood out. I got the duck pastrami hash and there was barely enough duck to rate it. The food was executed very well though. The service was slow and uneven, but I might give it another chance since it seemed like they might have just been having a bad day.

We had an amazing experience this past weekend celebrating my husband's birthday. The staff was so warm and welcoming and went above and beyond to make our time there feel special. They even brought over complimentary champagne, which was such a sweet touch. Usually when you got to a nice restaurant that is dependable for dinner, their brunch can be a bit spotty. Let's face it, nobody wants to work a brunch shift and the menu can border on generic, even at the finest of restaurtants. Not this place! My husband ordered the duck hash and I got the mushroom polenta with eggs. Both were knock out gorgeous and tasted even better than they looked. We were incredibly impressed and don't know why we didn't come here sooner. Looking forward to making this a mainstay as one of our favorite neighborhood restaurants.

We had exceptional service. The server gave us a lot of information on the different pasta options and gave us free champagne to celebrate my friend's moving there. It's definitely a good place for vegetarians and the veggie appetizers were our favorites. Delicious cocktails and beautiful lighting.
