Outstanding food. Outdoor dining space was adequate but not great. Can't wait till we can eat there indoors again!
We visited Meadowsweet for the first time and were extremely pleased with food and service. We sampled the Brunch Menu and selection was well balanced between light dishes and full meal plates. All served food was superb quality and beautifully presented. We were sitting outside on a very windy day and the restaurant had a nice arrangement between few heated tables on the sidewalk and sheltered tables at the curbside. All personnel was very professional, making sure that the Covid19 regulations are respected while making patrons very comfortable. It can not be better place to spend time with friends and family even on a cold winter day. We applaud the Meadowsweet team for putting so much effort to secure safe environment without sacrificing comfort, with fantastic wood and great service.
Having read it is a Michelin-star restaurant, we were very much looking forward to an exceptional meal. The butternut squash burrata appetizer dip was swimming in oil and overpowered with garlic and the wagyu beef bavette with creamed spinach and fingerling potatoes were all so rich (cooked in loads of butter and/or oil), it was awful. In this day and age, it is not necessary to drench high-quality ingredients in so much fat unless you can't cook.
Loved the brunch options
The food at Meadowsweet is absolutely top tier, we made reservations for a birthday dinner, and ended up re-ordering additional food three times! My girlfriend had the burrrata, which was one of the best she ever had. I loved the mushroom pasta and the empanadas with green sauce. We were still hungry and ordered another course - i loved the Wagyu; perfectly cooked and flavored. The only downside was the cold weather that didn’t go very well with the limited outside dining facilities. Some wind shielding and extra heat lamps would’ve been welcome. An absolute recommendation for their food - and we will definitely be back for indoor dining as soon as it becomes available again!
Service was great. Felt clean and safe. The cockails weren't great; the steak was very good. The other dish we got was vegetarian and not great. The veg was undercooked/basically raw and too hard to cut with the knives provided. The knifework on the garnish left it inedible (way too thick).
We were sitting outside so service was a bit less responsive than we'd expect (e.g., had to ask for condiments three times before they came), but food was great, and that's most important!
Phenomenal food with OK service... kind of annoyed with having to put my mask on everytime a server comes near the table (even though they have their own mask), but otherwise a decent experience. The wagyu and chicken entrees were amazing as were the empanadas and fennel sausage pasta.
hands-down the most annoying place I’ve been to during the pandemic. Their mask rules were ridiculous. They expect you to keep it on at all times unless you are taking a bite of your food or a sip from your drink. The server would stop far away from your table and request you put it on prior to approaching you. it made me very uncomfortable and ruined the experience. The food was very good, however I was very disappointed at the size of the chicken thigh on my chicken sandwich. It was by far the smallest one I’ve had in Williamsburg, and trust me I’ve had every chicken sandwich from every restaurant, this one being the last to try, and ironically the most expensive. i have no problem paying an absurd amount of money for my food but only if it’s worth it. i will not be going back there.
Thank you for your feedback. We always appreciate an opportunity to learn and grow. We're so sorry that you were disappointed in the portion size of your meal. We do have a strict mask policy, but we are just trying to keep EVERYONE safe during this incredibly difficult time. That includes our team, who aren't protected when guests aren't wearing masks. Please email us so we can send you a giftcard to enjoy with us once the pandemic is over. We hope you stay safe and healthy.
Post co-vid dining outdoors. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. However, they ran out of a dish after we put in our orders and the food took a long while to come out the kitchen and it was really crowded. I sat there hangry for most of my meal. I ended up ordering the burger and it was delicious! I’d dine here again though
Always love coming here. I do think the outdoor dining area could use a bit of an upgrade. The traffic from Broadway was blowing around the canopies a bit, and it felt a little stuffy with the surrounding plastic. Something sturdier is needed. Food was great but service was slightly slower than normal. I appreciated the strict covid-19 protocols, it made me feel safe.
Came here for brunch, as we’ve done many times over the past 4yrs. During the pandemic, the brunch menu has been tweaked and further reduced to 60% of what it was. This is unfortunate and disappointing. We miss the duck hash, tamales and doughnuts.. to name a few.
Food was delicious, imaginative and well presented.
Meadowsweet was great! Went for a friend’s birthday and had a wonderful meal. The service was friendly and efficient, and all of our food items were delicious. And the cocktails and wine were good too! Looking forward to going back there next time we are in Williamsburg.
The food didn’t leave an impression and the table setting was a bit awkward
Bartender with the cool tattoos makes killer bloody Mary’s !
Excellent new selection for the brunch menu. Loved having the French Toast on the menu this time. Plenty of room outside and service was friendly and prompt.
Outdoor experience needs to be improved. For a restaurant of that caliber, I am unsure why they are offering guests seating in the road with zero protection from car exhaust, wind and rain. We would have had a similar experience sitting on the curb. It was freezing cold and windy, and when we asked to move inside before even being seated, we were declined because we were 5 people; the maximum inside is 4. We were offered absolutely nothing to make the experience more positive. I respect Covid guidelines, but in the end of October, Meadowsweet needs to get their act together.
even with the pandemic meadowsweet is still our favorite go to restaurant.
can wait until all is clear for 100% indoor dining
I recommend the pork chop... unbelievably delicious! And the Mezcal cocktail was outstanding! Thank you for existing!
Street noise was an issue. Staff is overly cautious with mask protection at outdoor tables. Could have been more courteous when explaining their overly cautious rules. Subpar overall dining experience.
Great food, great cocktails!
Food was good but super pricey for what i got. 2 eggs and mushrooms on toast for $19. The $6 Covid cover charge was a bit of a shock , would have preferred to be forewarned. Prob won't go back bc of the high prices.
Meadowsweet is just an amazing outstanding gem in Williamsburg. For those who want to eat super delicious fare in a subtly designed and relaxed atmosphere here, without the rowdy crowds of Bedford Avenue.
Service is nice but I paid $17 for an artichoke salad that was barely an appetizer, let alone entree. The waiter also got our drinks mixed up because apparently not many women order Scotch these days lol
Fantastic experience overall! This was my third time there and I would definitely go back.
Awesome food (we had a party of 6 and everyone loved their food), outdoor dining along broadway can get a bit loud.
First in-restaurant dining experience. It was thoughtful and safe... there's lots of distance and the wait staff ask that you put your mask on/off as they approach the table. The food is as good as ever... they've maintained their standard of great flavor + innovative twists dishes that make it a special dining experience. I do miss the truffle pasta!
Best duck of my LIFEEEE! I will return :)
P.S. you should switch to resy =)
Covid protocols were extreme
Food & drinks were incredible, great location too. The service was a little ornery, but all good. People have their days.
Love Meadowsweet- one of my Williamsburg go tos. The food is delicious, the cocktails are fun, and waitstaff is amazing.
Birthday for wife
FOOD IS SOO AMAZING!!!
Best cocktails and Food.. even with COVID, they could make an effort for a better ambiance outside..it is a pity!!
Great food and cocktails. Unfortunately there was a glitch with my OpenTable reservation; they didn’t see the reservation and I had to show them the email. But thankfully there were open tables at that time and the waitstaff was extremely accommodating.
Nice outdoor dining space and great food
My wife and I celebrated our 2 year wedding anniversary dinner here and were blown away by the flavors. The crispy baby artichokes had just the right amount of lemon it was quite delicious. Highly recommend the pappardelle duck ragout I could have drank that sauce and been satisfied!
Excellent Food! Every dish wore and I ordered was simply delicious! I had the Salmon and she ordered the duck. Both were amazing! As was the Fried Green Tomatoes. We look forward to returning soon..
The drinks, food and service was exceptional without being pretentious.
