Way too salty. Everything was cooked poorly and salty. Staff seemed stressed but was otherwise nice
The food was good, but it has been better. Service was very inattentive. Maybe they’ve lost their touch.
Was disappointed, honestly. I thought I was going to a great spot for brunch, the food was mediocre. Not a lot of food or beverage options, the food was very little. The way it was served together in a bowl was gross, the eggs were a bit undercooked and I love over easy eggs. (I ordered the huevos rancheros.) My drink came half way through the meal and it was very loud.
Great food. The only quibble I might have is some of it can be just a smidge, and only a smidge, too salty. We had the duck and wagyu and both were perfectly prepared and delicious. The artichoke salad was delicious was the octopus. The dessert was tasty too. The signature drinks were decent but make sure to crush whatever herbs better in the drink to get the full effect. I liked the vibe of the place, which was very relaxed.
Staff was very friendly. Our waiter was nice and followed up on all of our dishes and drinks. The food was delicious.
The food and drinks were outstanding and affordable. Its a great place to catch up with family or take a date.
Food was outstanding but service had several misses. We got our first bite of food 40m after we sat down. We were not given bread service until after appetizers. Wine list indicated half bottles were available by Coravin but none were available. 20% of entrees were sold out by 8pm.
These issues would be forgivable in a casual place or if there was just one. But at $34/entree I expect more.
I would not recommend unless you care only about food.
Fantastic food, off the charts delicious. Likely the best food in Williamsburg. Highly recommended.
The service was great. It was a busy brunch and our seats were ready with a high chair already in place for our toddler.
The food was good but the whole meal was spoiled by the unnecessary attitude of the host who greeted us.
We came here to celebrate our engagement. The staff was kind, sweet, and attentive. We could not have asked for a better experience from the owners, to the manager, to our server. We have been here many times before and love it more every time. Meadowsweet will now forever hold a special place in our heart!
Great Spot, Brunch menu is has a little tiny twist from other restaurants in the neighborhood and it's very nicely made, tasty, exactly what you expect brunch to be!
We’ve been several times to this restaurant. Would recommend it but not on too busy nights like Valentine.... The restaurant was not up to standard on this occasion.
Delicious, clean food and good sized portions. Cocktails were great as well...and the bread & butter they give you before the meal is absolutely incredible!
Great little neighbourhood spot.
The food and service were beyond all expectations. We did the 5 course tasting menu which is highly recommended! We were blown away and can't wait to go back!
Great fare, beautiful decor and indoor garden, creative cocktails
Great Michelin starred restaurant. Had the roasted oysters and ribs for appetizers, both were excellent although I felt a need for some fire on the oysters. As a main we had the oysters and the steak, both terrific. As a bonus their house made rolls and salt butter were a great treat to start.
It was a wonderful experience from start to finish. I highly recommend it.
Excellent service and overall, food was good but oversalted. Salted bread, pasta with crab appetizer, wagyu beef, and scallops. Food would have been even better with less salt.
We attempted to order a mixed drink and were told that their drinks are not sweet. We ordered an SOS which was overly sweet. Drinks are $12 and are very small.
Overall, enjoyable and could be made better with several changes.
Disappointing side salad and the cold, non-crispy fries that come w each entree.
Entrees were good/solid
My boyfriend and I went for Sunday brunch and everything was delicious! The space was beautiful and we really liked the vibe.
We had an outstanding meal served by a hospitable capable staff. We had the tasting menu (a great value) with wine pairings. The menu itself is based on your preferences and what is available that day. Each course was perfectly executed. Got full only toward the very end so the amount of food was perfect. A great alternative to the much more expensive tasting menus in Manhattan.
Not as good as I expected from the reviews I have read
I love the food at Meadowsweet, but both times I've been there the service has been horrendous. The first time was just with two people for brunch, and recently was with 5 people for brunch. Perhaps because gratuity is already included for 5+ people so the servers don't feel the need to do well, but thats my only complaint with this place. The food and ambiance is great and I would recommend with that caveat.
Great experience. We’ll be back.
Delicious food, awesome restaurant. Have been here many times and will continue to return.
I was impressed by the main dishes at this restaurant. The portion sizes are pretty small, almost like tapas. We got the steak and the duck. I was mostly impressed by the flavors of the duck, and I'd definitely recommend it to a friend. The restaurant also has an affordable wine list, with decent wines ranging from $40 to $60, which in New York City, is a good deal. One thing that I wasn't happy about was the cost of the raw oysters. The price was way more than I expected, and I wish the restaurant would be more upfront with the pricing in the future. It may have been our server who didn't communicate the cost to us when we inquired about the dish. Otherwise, it's a good date spot, and I saw a lot of groups eating together, so you can also bring friends.
Food was great, but service was terrible. Took 45 minutes to be asked for order. They brought out some sauce that was key to dish after friend finished eating 3/4 because they were so slow and no one said it was coming. Don’t know how they have a Michelin star.
Food was absolutely delicious and the service was outstanding. Thank you for a great date night! We will definitely be back!!
Delicious brunch date. We had the tamales to start, he had the duck hash & I had the burrata & Brussels sprout omelette. Coffee could be a tad better but everything else was spot on, creative, and pretty perfect! Service was great, too.
Consistently noteworthy experience. Intriguing fresh and delicious menu. Great service. Beautiful space. I love Meadowsweet!
Fine food in a casual setting
Still my favorite restaurant in Williamsburg. Consistently great product and inventive preparation. We’re their on New Years so things were expectantly busy and the staff seemed harried, but the food was exceptional.
We were there for a Saturday brunch. Delicious food. The duck hash and the truffle oil toast were notable. Service was good, the restaurant was beautiful and clean. Prices for brunch were reasonable.
The service was very slow. Had to call the waiter / waitress over every time we wanted something (coffee, food, check, etc.)
We were super excited to go to Meadowsweet but were sorely disappointed. The service staff was notably slow with only one server at lunch who was also the line bartender. Though the bread was spectacular, our chicken was terribly undercooked and not edible. What a disappointment!
Our waiter was really off. Took great care of the table next to us but left us sitting for over ten mins without water/taking drink orders. Listed specials to his other tables but simply asked us “what do you want?” When finally coming over. Kept trying to figure out if we accidentally did something to offend him the whole dinner- I don’t think so. Everything else was absolutely incredible. Definitely deserves its accolades. Will absolutely come back but just avoid that server
The most amazing meal we’ve had during our 6 years in NYC. Everything was cooked perfectly. The flavors were exciting yet familiar and right on point. The service was outstanding (well-timed, excellent help with wine, friendly and accommodating- thanks, Jacob!). This was (a lot of) money we did not regret spending. Thank you so much. We’ll be back!
Spent Christmas Eve out for the first time and it was terrific. Absolutely delicious and great atmosphere. Couldn't be happier. Thank you.
