The owner greeted us and helpful choose our meal. He came over to our table often and made us feel like regulars. The meal was exquisite and the service was excellent. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who enjoys top shelf dining.
Hidden jewel in the heart of Buckhead. Outstanding food and ambiance with amazing service every time.
This was our first time at McKinnon's. The food was awesome and genuinely New Orleans style and authenticity. So many good choices on the menu, it was hard to choose. Our servers were very attentive, and the teaming style made it easy to feel like we were never forgotten. After a great dinner, we moved into the Piano Bar and enjoyed Karaoke style singing from some of the patrons along with a husband and wife duo on piano and guitar. On this evening, the music was from the 50's and 60's even though we would preferred something more modern. Nevertheless, we enjoyed the entire experience. Also a bonus to have the owner visit our table and personally see to our needs. Oh, and he sings too. Love this place.
Food was pricey and the portions were small! The side of potatoes was literally one baby potato cut in half! Food needed to be salted. The restaurant had a weird smell
Excellent food, atmosphere and service. Authentic southern Louisiana recipes. I am from Louisiana so can confirm. Very nice!
Good friends, good food, good music
Wow! The perfect, hidden neighborhood gem. Two amazing fish entrees, served by an attentive and knowledgable staff, followed by a memorable and original chocolate mousse-esque dessert. We then went to the bar for an after-dinner drink, and happened upon (and participated in) karaoke with two supporting musicians. A+ night!
The service and food was exceptional! Love this place .
Outstanding is every aspect.
Excellent meal! Aziz (owner) was very accommodating and came over to our table a couple of times to check on us.
We had a great time and the food is exceptional. Everything was perfect.
Fantastic selection of well prepared, delicately seasoned sea food, served by a very attentive staff.
We were ensconced in very comfortable seating surrounded by a quiet oasis of dark paneled walls under a wooden beamed ceiling.
Our anniversary dinner couldn't have been any better.
Had reservations and it still took about 30min to seat us. The restaurant smelled like the carpet needed to be clean and the service was slow. Also my food was not that good. I have had way better seafood, especially crab cakes. Will not return.
I absolutely love Mckinnon’s and especially love the fact that it’s sort of a hidden gem. It was my second time dining there and the food, service, & atmosphere were just as amazing as I remembered. We thoroughly enjoyed our apps, entrees & desserts as they were all fresh and delicious. Can’t wait to go back!
Although very crowded this evening the patrons were fun and very responsive to the entertainment.
The Front host was very rude and unfriendly. I will never spend my here again.
Walked in and was not greeted. The maitre of honor greeted a couple in front of me but never acknowledged me while I waited on my date. There was no seating available at the bar so I stood at the front for 15 minutes and still no one came to greet me. I made reservations for 8 pm Saturday night. Did not feel welcoming so I left and contacted my date to advise him to meet me at Chauma Gaucha. Glad I did. I am use to that kind of ambience and service.
Worst dining experience I’ve had at a restaurant in this price range in the city of Atlanta.
I do not care to elaborate further but everyone in the dining room on Valentines Day felt the same.
Food was very good... Service was not good.
We dined on Valentine's Day. The set menu selection was okay but the food arrived cold and had to be sent back. In addition, our server had no personality and was hard to find. We were very disappointed in the experience.
Nice for Valentines, better everyday off the menu. We will return.
I stopped by to purchase a gift card for a friend. I've drove by McKinnon's many of times but never stopped to eat. I am so happy I did. I stayed for dinner and drinks. Such a hidden gem and the owner, Aziz, truly wonderful! The food and service was spectacular.
highly recommended!! Aziz, the owner, complements the entire experience. Food is excellent. Not a pretentious place - at that is perfect!
Always a treat to travel to the city and visit Mckinnons, service and quality of food is impeccable!
Limited menu. Menu isn’t clear at what you get with entree. No printed kids menu. Our server Yuri was assume & personable. Nice variety of seafood & fish though.
We had deightfully attentive service. Aziz, the owner, stopped by our table. The seafood was delicately prepared and sumptuous.
Not one to leave reviews often, but neither of us could eat our food. The owners were very nice, but the food was mushy and under seasoned.
As always, lots of fun !! Great food and the only performance bar in Atlanta.
Not a good sign when the wait staff tell you they are on a skeleton crew and there is no hostess to greet you.
However, McKinnons has been around forever and it is a great spot for authentic Cajun cooking. We loved the mussels appetizer and the bouillabaisse I had was lovely. If you are in the mood for a taste of New Orleans, be sure to stop by. Prices are in line with the neighborhood - about 20-25$ a person + any alcohol.
Great service, seated immediately, friendly and personable service. Manager/owner stopped by to check how we liked the meal. Great food. Fresh. Decent wine selection.
Awesome service and meal!
It was fantastic really enjoyed the service and the food. We brought our son , we can’t wait for date night we are most definitely eating here . The Vibe is perfect
Very nice ambiance and great service. Owners are very attentive and cordial
Should have known when it was the only restaurant we could in on Saturday night. Thought we would give it a try since reviews said it was authentic creole, not true. Food was mediocre. Waitress didn't know how to explain two dishes. Stuck in time.
Had a party of 11 for a birthday. They put us in our own room and our waiter was wonderful. He had a great sense of humor and added to the festive nature of the dinner. The owner came by to greet us which was a nice touch and definitely impressed the guests. We’ll definitely be back as we love the feel of this classic restaurant.
McKinnons is an old-school restaurant with great food and wonderful service. The dining room is lovely, dimly lit, and quiet. Great for a romantic evening or special occasion with friends (which is why we were there). If you are looking for a trendy, flashy scene, with long descriptions of locally sourced ingredients, this is not for you. If you want consistent, delicious food, with great attention-to-detail service then this is your place! The piano player in the bar area has worked there for 32 year and knows every song requested. Aziz, the owner, will make you feel part of the family.
During a Show that was in progress in the Grille Room, an audio problem developed. A friendly patron offered his services, corrected the problem and the Show went on much to the delight of everyone in the Grille Room and adjacent Piano Bar. This is definitely a special place as are the staff & management.
Although the service the subpar, the food was not great. I asked for a well done steak and it came out being super raw. Nasty!! They took it and cooked the same steak and put it back on my plate. Do not eat at this place!!
Great Cajun food especially seafoods. Old School feel. Wonderful Steaks too!
