Outstanding is every aspect.
Excellent meal! Aziz (owner) was very accommodating and came over to our table a couple of times to check on us.
We had a great time and the food is exceptional. Everything was perfect.
Fantastic selection of well prepared, delicately seasoned sea food, served by a very attentive staff.
We were ensconced in very comfortable seating surrounded by a quiet oasis of dark paneled walls under a wooden beamed ceiling.
Our anniversary dinner couldn't have been any better.
Had reservations and it still took about 30min to seat us. The restaurant smelled like the carpet needed to be clean and the service was slow. Also my food was not that good. I have had way better seafood, especially crab cakes. Will not return.
I absolutely love Mckinnon’s and especially love the fact that it’s sort of a hidden gem. It was my second time dining there and the food, service, & atmosphere were just as amazing as I remembered. We thoroughly enjoyed our apps, entrees & desserts as they were all fresh and delicious. Can’t wait to go back!
Although very crowded this evening the patrons were fun and very responsive to the entertainment.
The Front host was very rude and unfriendly. I will never spend my here again.
Walked in and was not greeted. The maitre of honor greeted a couple in front of me but never acknowledged me while I waited on my date. There was no seating available at the bar so I stood at the front for 15 minutes and still no one came to greet me. I made reservations for 8 pm Saturday night. Did not feel welcoming so I left and contacted my date to advise him to meet me at Chauma Gaucha. Glad I did. I am use to that kind of ambience and service.
Worst dining experience I’ve had at a restaurant in this price range in the city of Atlanta.
I do not care to elaborate further but everyone in the dining room on Valentines Day felt the same.
Food was very good... Service was not good.
We dined on Valentine's Day. The set menu selection was okay but the food arrived cold and had to be sent back. In addition, our server had no personality and was hard to find. We were very disappointed in the experience.
Nice for Valentines, better everyday off the menu. We will return.
I stopped by to purchase a gift card for a friend. I've drove by McKinnon's many of times but never stopped to eat. I am so happy I did. I stayed for dinner and drinks. Such a hidden gem and the owner, Aziz, truly wonderful! The food and service was spectacular.
highly recommended!! Aziz, the owner, complements the entire experience. Food is excellent. Not a pretentious place - at that is perfect!
Always a treat to travel to the city and visit Mckinnons, service and quality of food is impeccable!
Limited menu. Menu isn’t clear at what you get with entree. No printed kids menu. Our server Yuri was assume & personable. Nice variety of seafood & fish though.
We had deightfully attentive service. Aziz, the owner, stopped by our table. The seafood was delicately prepared and sumptuous.
Not one to leave reviews often, but neither of us could eat our food. The owners were very nice, but the food was mushy and under seasoned.
As always, lots of fun !! Great food and the only performance bar in Atlanta.
Not a good sign when the wait staff tell you they are on a skeleton crew and there is no hostess to greet you.
However, McKinnons has been around forever and it is a great spot for authentic Cajun cooking. We loved the mussels appetizer and the bouillabaisse I had was lovely. If you are in the mood for a taste of New Orleans, be sure to stop by. Prices are in line with the neighborhood - about 20-25$ a person + any alcohol.
Great service, seated immediately, friendly and personable service. Manager/owner stopped by to check how we liked the meal. Great food. Fresh. Decent wine selection.
Awesome service and meal!
It was fantastic really enjoyed the service and the food. We brought our son , we can’t wait for date night we are most definitely eating here . The Vibe is perfect
Very nice ambiance and great service. Owners are very attentive and cordial
Should have known when it was the only restaurant we could in on Saturday night. Thought we would give it a try since reviews said it was authentic creole, not true. Food was mediocre. Waitress didn't know how to explain two dishes. Stuck in time.
Had a party of 11 for a birthday. They put us in our own room and our waiter was wonderful. He had a great sense of humor and added to the festive nature of the dinner. The owner came by to greet us which was a nice touch and definitely impressed the guests. We’ll definitely be back as we love the feel of this classic restaurant.
McKinnons is an old-school restaurant with great food and wonderful service. The dining room is lovely, dimly lit, and quiet. Great for a romantic evening or special occasion with friends (which is why we were there). If you are looking for a trendy, flashy scene, with long descriptions of locally sourced ingredients, this is not for you. If you want consistent, delicious food, with great attention-to-detail service then this is your place! The piano player in the bar area has worked there for 32 year and knows every song requested. Aziz, the owner, will make you feel part of the family.
During a Show that was in progress in the Grille Room, an audio problem developed. A friendly patron offered his services, corrected the problem and the Show went on much to the delight of everyone in the Grille Room and adjacent Piano Bar. This is definitely a special place as are the staff & management.
Although the service the subpar, the food was not great. I asked for a well done steak and it came out being super raw. Nasty!! They took it and cooked the same steak and put it back on my plate. Do not eat at this place!!
Great Cajun food especially seafoods. Old School feel. Wonderful Steaks too!
Great romantic date restaurant in the formal dining room. Candle lit , quiet and cozy- it was a very romantic scene. The wait staff was very attentive and professional. The food was excellent . Must try the crawfish tip appetizer. You may want to order an additional side to share because the sides with the entrees are more decorative than filling. It was overall a very nice date night while visiting Atlanta and I would go back again.
Our family goes here every Christmas Eve. This year was harder because of newly discovered food allergies. They tried their best, but some things were missed and certain members of our party were not happy with this. We have a year to reevaluate whether to find a new tradition. We have been going here for years and always loved it.
A very comfortable place with good food to enjoy a business meeting, intimate dinner with friends or a quiet alcove with that special someone.
Have been going for years but the food was exceptional this time. Gumbo, Étouffée, Snapper all excellent. Singing is a bonus.
Several of us ordered the grouper. Which was good but undercooked. One person sent it back to be cooked more. The 4th person ordered red snapper which he felt was not fresh and did not eat.
Several ordered The Savannah style crab bisque. It was wonderful.
We also ordered an appetizer which was very good.
Excellent food! We had the Grouper Louisiane and the mussels. Quiet enough for conversation. Decor is quite dated, but we enjoyed ourselves very much.
I decided to try the restaurant based on seeing them on Scoutmob for several months. The service is great. The hostess and waiter were very friendly and personable. This was my first time here so I wasn’t sure what to expect for many locals of Atlanta they may be more familiar as they’ve been around for some time. Majority of the customers are mature adults (55+) so it’s definitely not a young hip spot for millennials. The food wasn’t the best but it wasn’t horrible. On the positive they have a great wine selection. If you’re looking for a place to take your parents or grandparents for dinner this is it!
