I came for lunch about a yr ago and thought it was good but not great. We came St. Patrick's day weekend and were much more impressed. I had the fish and chips which was outstanding, my wife had the prime rib which was also huge and great. We took company there Friday night which was the best yet. I forget the name but the fried mushrooms and pimento cheese balls were great. I had the Swamp Fox burger which is one of the best burgers I ever had. My only complaints are the Pepsi products which isn't a big deal. We also didn't get to try dessert because the kitchen closed. That's not really a complaint because we got there later and the kitchen has to close sometime.
Our experience at McGees Irish Pub was outstanding. The staff went out of their way to help suprise my wife for our anniversary dinner. The beer was cold and fresh and the food choices were of variety and very authentic. I highly reccommend McGees for any kind of get together.
So I have been looking forward to dinner here for the past several years, unable to get a reservation on St. Patrick's Day. Last year due to covid was totally understandable and this year I made the res at the beginning of January. Followed up on Facebook after a post that started no reservations were accepted on St. Patrick's Day and received an email back stating that they simply weren't accepting any new reservations but ones already made would be honored. When we got there, walked past three line of people 15 minutes early for our 6:30 reservation, I was intentionally not met with eye contact and it was super awkward. When I finally was able to speak with someone I was met with a super rude tone, and you could sincerely tell the guy just didn't want to be bothered. I saw my name written on a note clear as day Ashley Rivera 3 6:30 I was like... Dude that's me right there. He looked at me and said "there's still a wait" okay whatever, that's expected to wait, I'm 15 minutes early. About 10 minutes later he calls my name and before sitting us down says "we don't accept reservations on St Patrick's Day going forward" seriously? I made it almost 3 months ahead of time. Needless to say, I was more than disappointed. The food was fine. The drinks were not accurate. We asked for 2 fingers of Jameson and were given a plastic shot cup. Not 2 fingers. But the service has ruined it for me and my family. We will not be returning again. Over $100 later, we were sincerely let down.
Our server Coach was awesome!! I would recommend this restaurant.
Very good food and service. The staff took all safety precautions with masks, etc. Will be going back soon.
We were very impressed with our first visit to McGee’s! Everyone’s dinners were delicious and the desserts decadent. We came on the first Friday of the month to enjoy some Irish pub music, so we were a little disappointed that the singer didn’t know any Irish tunes. But he was a talented singer, and we enjoyed his music. Overall, a great experience.
We really enjoyed McGee’s Irish Pub and will definitely be going back.
Great atmosphere. Good food. For an Irish Pub in South Carolina it was pretty authentic.
Excellent pub food! Great local find.
The food was delicious and the staff were friendly. We decided to give McGee's a try for Valentine’s Day but will definitely be coming back again! The prices were very reasonable too!
This is my new favorite restaurant! The Irish lamb stew was superb! Their desserts are awesome as well! Highly recommend this place!
Food has declined since last I was here a few years ago. Will stick to the bar and skip the meals next time.
Great atmosphere, food is always delicious and staff are always great. Really nice place to have a great meal
Best shrimp and chips around. Very large shrimp, so they were not overcooked.
Fantastic food to fit any taste. Great Irish Pub style menu. Best place around to get a great Guieness draft!!
It was just okay! We arrived and they did not recognize that we had a reservation even though it was booked over a week in advance. Service and food were good. Unlike some other restaurants, they did not do anything to make our special occasion “special”.
A Celtic Christmas was wonderful, great service, food, and entertainment!
McGee’s is and will always be our most favorite restaurant. The food is always delish, service is on point and atmosphere is awesome. No one around does it better than McGee’s! Check em out, you won’t be disappointed!
Excellent food and service. The pumpkin spice cheesecake was divine.
This was our first time dining here. We sat outside on the patio which was very nice. The food and service were excellent. Will definitely visit again.
As a first time customer, I would definitely recommend this tavern for a an authentic and delicious meal. The atmosphere was cozy and quiet. Service was great and beverage menu had a great selection. I recommend the Sheppard's Pie.
Looking forward to returning soon!
Food was hot and favor full. Service was a tentative but not overwhelming. We had the hush puppies with lavender honey and also did the Irish Spring rolls. Both are outstanding. I did the short rib special which was both flavorful and enjoyable the wife did it Ruben sandwich I’ll be enjoy the very nice bottle of wine overall I would say that it was enjoyable meal.
Found this hidden gem while looking for a new spot to take out of town visitors - what a surprise! Food was delicious, Tevin our server was attentive and gracious. We expected more of a bar-like feel but the food was really tasty and the menu very diverse. Loved hearing about the history of McGees. We will definitely be going back!
Great food, service and atmosphere. Highly recommend to anyone looking for some Authentic Irish pub fare!
Loved it. We are completely obsessed with HIMYM and this place was just perfect!
Food was great!
quite enjoyable and food very good service was great
Good food. Good beer. Good prices. Good atmosphere.
The food was not good, they have changed something. I had the Irish stew which used to come with the lamb shank and a generous portion of meat and potatoes. Now, much smaller plate at higher price. The wife had bangers and mash which was inedible. The sausage tasted rancid. On top of this, their menu price did not line up with what was charged. We used to enjoy this place but I seriously doubt us going back.
No respetaron mi reservación.
Just average - not much to say about it. Wasn’t great but wasn’t bad either.
We love this place! Some of the best food in town, made better by incredible staff.
Would like 100% Celtic music played at all times and bands starting earlier at happy hour.
Excellent food! Excellent service!! We will go back again!!
Daughter’s 23d birthday
All great! Loved Celtic music which is a must for the complete experience.
a great local standby. honest food, good service, reasonable prices. on "non live music nights" noise level is great for conversation or just a quiet meal. On music nights, the sound level isn't terrible, but it's hard to have a conversation.
The food was delicious. It has been a few years since I have visited Corbett McGees and I am so glad I went. I'll definitely be back. The Celtic Dragon Eggs were delicious (if you like pimento cheese) and the basket of fresh bread was great. I had the fish and chips and the serving was more than I could eat. My niece had the shrimp and grits and it looked scrumptious. I didn't try them but they looked like the type of shrimp and grits I would eat. I don't like just any shrimp and grits. The portions were large. Everyone got a to-go box. The service was great. Our server was courteous and stayed right on top of keeping our glasses filled but wasn't overbearing. We went around 6 pm on a Saturday so it was before the rush but there were several patrons already there. Parking around back is limited but you can always park around front. I definitely give our overall visit 5 stars. I'll be going back.
The only complaint I have is the reservation I made on Open Table didn't make it to the restaurant.
Food was great. One if the best veggies I've ever eaten at a restaurant and I'm not usually fond of veggies. Only complaint, we had to keep asking for refills on drinks, esp. coffee.
