McEwens - Oxford
Dinner: Tuesday - Thursday 5:00pm - 9:00pm
Friday & Saturday 5:00pm - 10:00pm
Sunday Brunch: 10:30am-2:00pm
Always a good experience: Delicious food and good service. The start of our meal was particularly nice: the place was busy and we went three or four minutes without anyone coming to our table. The hostess noticed and came to our table and said I’ll get someone to serve you right away. When a hostess is paying that much attention to what is going on, promote her to manager!
Always fabulous! Delicious. Wonderful service. Love the atmosphere.
It was good
McEwens is our favorite restaurant on the Square! Food is consistently really good and we can always enjoy our table conversation, unlike most restaurants on the Square.
Quickly became my favorite place to eat in oxford Mississippi
All the entrees were well prepared and visually enticing. Each was flavorful and met our expectations. The staff was friendly and attentive. Our waitress even sang a few notes from the “Jersey Boys” (she is a theater major)!
I have never been disappointed with McEwens in Oxford. Great service, they are very accommodating to my special dietary needs and yummy cocktails; especially Daddy's Little Princess!
Food fantastic, service fantastic, but they were out of a lot of food. Being a game weekend, aren't they used to that yet? Need to be better prepared.
Food was well prepared and flavorful. Enjoyed our evening with exception of they running out of three entre offerings by 8:30. Overall: 7.5.
Visiting daughter at university of Mississippi
Excellent!! Ask for Lauri!'
I have reviewed McEwens on Open Table before. It is a regular stop for four of us for Sunday Brunch or an evening meal. The service is always great and the food is creative. We love the place. This past Sunday we had brunch there. My friend's grilled salmon and my steak and eggs Benedict were outstanding. Both of us would order it again.. The Brussels Sprouts that i ordered with my steak and eggs Benedict were as good as I have eaten---just outstanding. Both our wives had the Southern Chicken Cobb salad. My wife's salad came with the fried chicken. The chicken was sparse and the advertised avocado was one thin slice. Our other friend ordered her salad with grilled chicken. The meat on this salad was not sparse, but the avocado again was one thin slice. It was the first time we have had a nit to pick with a meal at McEwens in multiple years of eating there. We hope it was an anomaly.
The new chef, Eric is excellent and Taylor McHugh is the best. Ask for her table
Enjoyed our evening
Always fantastic! One of our favorites in Oxford, it never disappoints!!
Fabulous as always. McEwens never disappoints. (Except for the fact the the beef and mushrooms toast points were not on the menu!) Cocktails are great. I can’t not get the sea bass!!! This is my Oxford go to!
One of the best restaurant we have ever been too. Great food and great service!
The food was incredible, and the service was impeccable. We took my mom on a girls weekend for her 75th birthday and she loved it! Thanks for making her special day even more so.
Dinner with friends that had not enjoyed your food before. We had the sea bass and throughly enjoyed every bite. Service was very attentive.
Our waiter was great!
Perfect either friends and family in for our daughters wedding.
Four of us went for a quiet evening dinner together (two couples). Two split a wedge salad and two split a Caprese salad with heirloom tomatoes. Both salads were great. The balsamic on the Caprese was exceptional. Two had seared divers scallops, one with cream succotash and one with seared Brussels sprouts. Two of us had the pork shop with Brussels sprouts and purple hull peas. All the entrees were outstanding. We each agreed that we would be willing to come back soon and order the same meal.
Our server, Taylor, was attentive without being intrusive---perfect.
A great place for a fine dining experience.
Food was good, but not outstanding. Service was great, was seated immediately, and the ambience was wonderful. Only downside was that both my daughter and I had stomach problems which landed us in the bathroom not long after our meals and throughout the night. We had 2 different entrees.
Food and service was outstanding. Great place to enjoy a great meal after a football game.
Great food and service., visit here every time I visit my daughter at Ole Miss, love that we can make reservations via Open Table.
Our lunch meeting was marvelous, as were the food and service. Thanks!
The service was great. The food and drinks arrived quickly.
Food took almost an hour to come and then it was cold. They were very busy and seemed under staffed for a really busy football weekend. We have been here 3 times before and didn't have this problem. We will maybe try again. I'm not sure though. Very disappointed right now. Our waiter was nice but you could tell he was in the weeds. Not very attentive at all. He took my meal off of ticket but didn't offer to prepare me anything else or try to get me any hot food to replace the cold food. So I left hungry. Not what I made reservations a week ahead to experience.
Our first time at McEwen's and we will definitely be back! The halibut special was amazing! Service was great.
McEwan’s never disappoints!! The service is terrific, the food is delicious and the wine list is very nice and diverse.
We for Sunday brunch and everything was fabulous! Food was very good and atmosphere perfect. We will definitely recommend to others and will go back frequently!
Our server was very professional and made our dining experience wonderful!
I have never been disappointed as the food and experience has always been great, unlike other local restaurants in the same price range. Great place for excellent food and ambiance to be able to have good lunch/dinner conversation.
We love this restaurant for dinner. The food as rich and delicious- pork belly, fried green tomatoes, filet, salmon, bread pudding! Meg was a fantastic server.
Weeknight dinner was perfect at McEwens. Our table was quiet enough for good conversation but not isolated—as requested. The food was beautifully presented and delicious (two of us had the salmon, one chose the sea bass), and Robert was the perfect waiter. We loved the atmosphere and food at McEwens and will definitely go there again next time we’re in Oxford.
last minute brunch reservation on a Sunday.... Tuna was Not Fresh, Salmon over cooked & our very young waiter acted as if he was afraid to come by the table as we may ask for something! Huge disappointment . Can't honest.y recommend for brunch. Obvious B Team at work
Great place. I always enjoy being--and eating--there.
We dine here very often and sadly our recent experience was very disappointing and we will not be back. We were a party of five and were seated in the front near the window and were virtually forgotten by our server. Did not refresh water and biscuits. The food was a huge disappointment! The dinner servings have shrunk to appetizer portions. My daughter and I each ordered the duck. My serving was twice the size as hers. We brought our mother to dinner raving about your restaurant and frankly were embarrassed. St Leo, City Grocery and the Snack Bar will be our go to places. We won’t be back.
Richard was awesome...best waiter! Great food!
