McEwens - Oxford
We live in Senatobia, MS and first dined at McEwens in Memphis, TN years ago . It became our favorite restaurant, beating out City Grocery- which we love too. We are so glad to have a McEwens in Oxford to visit.
Have come here many times and always enjoyed it! Had one cooking error on a steak and it was handled immediately! Love oxford and love eating here!
First time here Thursday 5/9. It was OUTSTANDING! 6 pm reservations allowed for a less crowded dining experience. Food was EXCELLENT. Our server Chase was excellent - the “Almost Ivy League” cocktail was delish! Our table had the Lobster Risotto, Pork Tenderloin, Chilean Sea Bass and the Filet. All exceptional!!! Can’t wait to go back!
Always my Oxford favorite! The lobster risotto is delicious - full of lobster claw meat. Yummy cocktails. Excellent service.
My husband and I ordered the smoked, grilled pork tenderloin and the Chilean sea bass. The food was amazingly delicious, seasoned perfectly, and plated beautifully. Side dishes could have been more plentiful. We enjoyed the warm, cozy atmosphere with lovely fixtures and art work. Our server was welcoming and helpful but never returned to check on us after we received our meal.
Nice brunch, and especially nice server! Would definitely recommend.
Our server had the best attitude even though he was In The weeds big time. Always a great time at M!!!! We will be back soon.
We loved McEwens! Everything we had was delicious and the service was outstanding!
Best restaurant in Oxford!! Excellent food and atmosphere.
I have been to McEwen many many times as I like their food. However, every time when I went there with non-white colleagues or friends, the service was completely different from the service when I went with white people. For instance, this time, once again, we were not given the tiny cornbread. But, every time when I went with white people, I didn't even have to ask. It's a very discriminating place. I'll never go again.
Our waiter Robert was fantastic and the filet, sea bass and chicken jambalaya were delicious
Got the last booth on the right which was a good spot for a eking lunch with a client.
Great night and consistently good.
We have been to McEwens on several occasions....one of our favorite restaurants in Oxford. Our food was delicious but the service was lacking a little.....Also, would like to have more dinner special entrees!!
We really enjoyed our meal. The special that night was red fish and it was fantastic. Our waiter was attentive and our cocktails were delicious.
Fabulous food and service as always!
Always consistently great food, we requested a quiet table and we got one. Unbelievable service with a smile. Chase was our waiter and he is attentive and congenial. Highly recommend this place❤️
Good food for an only slightly above average price. Atmosphere was great— which is good since we had to wait so long for a server to notice our arrival.
Good food, good service, fair price. Beautiful restaurant
All was good, my only complaint was the hostess. She was on the phone and I felt the phone situation could be handled in a better way than the hostess at the time you are opening.
Service was fine but not attentive. Salmon was substandard.
McEwens is a go-to spot when I am in Oxford. The atmosphere is great and the food is typically very good. The menu changes often so there is always something new to try. Service was off a bit this night but otherwise a lovely evening.
I had friends in town from the Mississippi gulf coast. We had eaton here many times and the food is consistently delicious. They requested McEwens and really enjoyed the Thurs. night fixed menu!
Food was just ok overall. Portions were small. Left feeling disappointed.
Great food & atmosphere!
Our server—working with a cast on—was terrific! The jambalaya with the fried chicken has got to go on the permanent menu!!!
Ordered the Lobster Risotto. Very disappointing.. chewy lobster. Poor wine and beer selection also. Server was nice and attentive (even though he neglected to notice that all the lobster was still on my plate when he took it away).
Favorite restaurant in town. Always great food; warm reception from employees; great atmosphere.
Food quit good and service excellent.
Seating is quick - ordering is quick - food service is quick, it happend so fast I can barely remember what I ate. Food plated was very/too salty.
One of my favorites! Always quality food, friendly and professional service, delicious cocktails, and a great atmosphere right on the charming Oxford square! Highly recommended.
Visiting Oxford for handlers’ training at Wildrose.
Delicious meals very well presented. Ambiance was very elegant. Love everything I ate. The fry oysters, the sea bass and the salmon.
McEwens has been consistently good for years. I had the special (pork tenderloin on grits with fried brussels sprouts.) Everything was delicious. I cleaned my plate. Two of my friends had the farmer's plate which I usually order. They both said it had too much salt. I tasted it, and they were correct. When they mentioned it, the waitress went back to the kitchen to tell the chef. They then comped the meal, which my friends protested. Such nice service and client friendly. My favorite lunch place in Oxford.
Our waiter was wonderful!
Fantastic service. Food and atmosphere deserves an A+. Will definitely come back.
Absolutely recommend McEwen's to friends! The food and service are always consistently good! The tuna special Saturday night was especially delicious! The pickles and cheese appetizer was a little on the skimpy side and not a favorite of the table. Our server was engaging and provided outstanding service.
