McEwen's on Monroe
In town for work and stop at the restaurant for dinner. What a great place. Food and service was top notch. Everyone was attentive to our needs and making sure our time at the restaurant was pleasurable
One of the best meals I have had in Memphis in the last year. Everything was on point, but highlights included the peach and fried green tomato small plates and the vegetable entree. Look forward to going back soon.
Our server was terrible. Forgot our appetizer. She put the order in after our salads were served. Two salads were brought out not as ordered. Beef tenderloin was not cooked to order and was not very good.Sea bass was very good though. Meal for 4 was over $250 which would be acceptable if service had been decent and if food had been the quality we expected. This was not our first visit.
Great service, our waitress was fantastic! We had the Salmon and the Sea Bass and both dished was great, I would highly recommend McEwen's to anyone visiting Memphis.
Didn’t enjoy the wine cellar ambience so much. I think we would’ve enjoyed the main dining room-spacious and lively.
Starter menu a bit pricy for portions but tasty. Catfish entre was a good choice. Service was excellent. Cocktail & wine satisfying!
Us girls had a ball, great food and wine, relaxed atmosphere, great service.
We had a wonderful meal with great service. The atmosphere was lively and we Interacted with neighboring tables. We never felt rushed. We were able to enjoy our food and wine and have conversations without feeling like we were holding up table space. I will definitely be back when in town!
Always top notch service and food. Can't go wrong with lunch or dinner!
The food was very good, a little bit to dark inside and a bit noisy
Delicious sea bass and risotto, my favorite dish!! Banana Cream Pie is amazing! One of my favorite restaurants in Memphis!
food was just outstanding! really was prepared and presented well.
Food and service is excellent! Will return soon. Scallops were exceptional.
Was a Friday evening, and really busy. Gotta have reservations or you will wait. We did fine
Took us 2 1/2 hours to eat—-service was slow and food was cold. Very, very loud.
Fast service. Got food in no time. Had 2 fish dishes that were tasty
The sound level was horribly loud. We couldn’t hear each other and had to yell across a small t@ble. Because of the unacceptable loud noise lev3l I will NEVER go to this place again!
My friend and I went to see HAMILTON, and chose McEwen's to eat early and get to the show on time. We were so glad we did! Great food and our server was GREAT to take care of us and not make us feel rushed OR late. Can't wait to go back for an amazing dinner! Thank you McEwen's!!
Cool atmosphere and not too loud for a business dinner.
I'll keep it short. Service was slow but good. It was a little warm (Memphis July) inside but other than that ambience was good. Small plate selection was excellent. Overall a good experience.
We were at the back corner table at the end of the bar. It was too hot as you could not get any air circulation. Other times I have been at different tables and it was great. But this table was uncomfortable due to temperature
Loved the small plates. Great atmosphere and service!
Service a bit rushed and noise level over the top but still a tasty meal and a restaurant I’d recommend.
This is my third visit and it has been amazing every time! Our waitress was wonderful and the food was delicious.
Party of three enjoyed the cheese plate, salads, sweet potato encrusted catfish, the barrel fish special and the seared scallops. Everything was awesome! Service and atmosphere were great also!
The food was great but the noise was so loud and intense that it really negatively impacted the experience.
McEwen's never fails to deliver excellent service and food. Always an enjoyable experience.
Service was excellent. Food was great, we had the lamb and fried green tomatoes for appetizer. Great wine selection and great atmosphere. I would recommend.
Salmon with the mushroom risotto is amazing 😋. Great Memphis restaurant
Went before a performance at the Orpheum. The server was so helpful to suggest things that wouldn’t take too long to prepare. The salmon was delicious and my friend had the grouper special, which she said was very good. The only thing I would suggest is that there needed to be a little more light and it was rather warm inside. But overall had a good experience.
Dinner before seeing Hamilton. Atmosphere was pleasant. Service was excellent. Caesar salad was good and large. Scallop appetizer was 2 small scallops and a spoon of risotto for $15. The steak had a sauce on it that overwhelmed the meat.
McEwen’s was dojng
Service was very slow. Had to ask for our order two times. When it got there the lamb was overcooked and smothered with gravy. Couldn't taste the lamb. Salmon was overcooked as well. At least the manager comped the meal.
The atmosphere was wonderful, especially in the wine cellar. The service was outstanding and the dinner/dessert recommendations by the server did not disappoint.
It was my first visit to McEwen's on Monroe but had heard many positive reviews. I was not disappointed. Food was great as was our service.
Everything from start to finish was amazing!!! The service, the drinks, the food - great!!!! Would highly recommend to anyone in the fence
An amazing meal! Lovely experience!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I took my wife here on a date night. Our server was polite and the food was prompt. We each had a couple of small plates, so got to sample 4 dishes at once. The scallops were among the best I’ve had anywhere! The pork tenderloin was a bit dry but had great flavor. The sliders and the shrimp and grits were simply outstanding!
Atmosphere was a bit loud, space a bit limited, and the TV over the bar all made for less than an idea fine dining experience. But overall it was one of the better downtown meals I’ve enjoyed.
It’s downtown Memphis, so you’re not going to find parking on your own, and valet parking was $8 at the door. Having enjoyed complimentary valet parking downtown (right around the corner, actually), I felt that would have been a nice touch.
Staff were friendly and service was very good. Food was ok, but didn't really justify the price in my opinion.
I always try a new restaurant each year for my birthday. My first mind told me to give this restaurant a try and I must say I'm so glad I did!! The staff was friendly and very helpful on menu selections for my friends. The food was delicious! I will definitely be going back. Thanks for making my birthday dinner a hit!
food always prepared the way you ask. Brian was our server, very helpful and prompt.
