View Private Dining DetailsAnniversary. Server was very accommodating. Loved eating where George Washington once dined.
Brunch was really good
small portions
Highly recommend! Visiting from out of town and wanted a good restaurant for brunch. This place did not let us down. Great service, great setting and incredible food!
One of the best restaurants in Charleston, hands down! Service is stellar and food is amazing!
Great food and service.
Excellent food. Professional and friendly service. Warm and inviting environment.
This is a great restaurant. The food is wonderful and the ambiance absolutely fits with the Charleston experience. We visit Charleston a few times each year and try to go to McCrady's Tavern at least once or twice each year. We have only been at McCrady's Tavern for dinner so I can't comment about other meals or times.
We brought out of town guests here. We had a great meal, consisting of pork chops, steak, swordfish (on special), and short ribs. Everything was wonderful. Highly recommend the escargot appetizer.
Didn’t have brand of gin or vodka we ordered. Poured a very short drink.
McGrady's is a strange place, extremely old while also feeling very modern. It's ambiance and presentation is extremely elegant, and at points borders on pretentious but unlike most places McGrady's has the history to back up its self up. Would love to go again.
Excellent food but wine list was pricey. Waiter may have been new to restaurant but others very helpful.
Great service , great food! From the moment we walked in, to the moment we left we felt very welcomed! Becca, our server, was amazing! The food was excellent ! Thanks, McGrady’s Tavern for a great experience!
Food and ambiance outstanding. Service by Rachel lackluster--she seemed lost and/or disinterested. Someone else greeted us for her, and after she finally came over we still waited another 15 minutes for our glasses of wine to arrive after ordering them. Didn't even take our dinner order until we'd been sitting there for half an hour or more. Still leaving a good rating because food was wonderful, chef was accommodating to my requests, and I feel like had we had a different server our whole experience would've been impeccable. Will definitely go back.
Were there for a casual dinner. Their foie gra was amazing, oysters were very good, too. Dinner dishes were OK - nothing too exciting, but after having this foie gra I will definitely come back for the tasting menu.
Stopped at the bar before our reservation. Lively. The pours were small. Our dinner was delicious and our waiter was great. All service is very good. Beautiful old brick building dating back to Washington’s time. It is rumored he even stayed in the building. It is something to experience.
Everything we had was good, but just that - good, not great. Not what you’d expect from Sean Brock, or at least, not what we were expecting. I could pick on a few things like the roast chicken being dry, the veal with English peas being ruined by deep frying the meat and smothering everything in heavy gravy. Under seasoning here and there, and a lack of contrast or brightness. Alas, with all that the meal was still ok. Service was terrific as was the wine and beer (and bread too). We were just disappointed by expecting something much better.
Minero‘ s on the other hand.... wow. Awesome all around! Loved it and going back tomorrow! Great job on that place Sean!
Very cool space - wonderful food and professional service! Would definitely return!
Was looking for a nice place for friends to reunite in Charlestown for a history weekend. McCrady's was just right. The Swordfish was outstanding and atmosphere was just right to friends to catch up.
The food was excellent and unique. The service was the best I've ever experienced!!!
Sean Brock is resting on his laurels. We remember dining at McCrady's Tavern before this chef became a celebrity, and it was outstanding. That is why we decided to reserve a table here on our latest visit to Charleston. The servers were very attentive, but they cannot change the fact that this place is overpriced and underwhelming. When I asked what sides came with the roast chicken, the answer was "nothing but a garnish of some greens." I paid $27 for simple roast chicken and had to pay an additional $8 for a side of mac and cheese.
When my $15 glass of wine arrived, I thought someone had drunk 2/3 of it on the way to my table (see photo). I have dined all over the world, and this restaurant is now on my "Never again" list. There are too many five star restaurants in Charleston that I would easily recommend to foodies. It is too bad that fame has diminished the experience at McCrady's.
Food was good (nothing memorable) but pricy (~$60 per person + alcohol). Also, they made us wait 45 min for a steak. When we asked why it had taken so long the waiter made up a ridiculous excuse. Then, it took 20 min to get dessert (a piece of pie that must take 30 seconds to cut). We were in no rush but these waiting times are just too long when you’re paying that much for a meal and I don’t like being lied to my face.
Both food items needed just a bit more seasoning, especially salt but very good
First time at McCradys last night and we were nonetheless impressed. Jordan was our server and he gave exceptional service. Didn’t rush and had many awesome suggestions. Chicken was phenomenal and the chilled oyster appetizer was mouth watering good. Will return in the future to try the chefs 13 course meal. Thanks again Jordan you were awesome.
We really enjoyed the excellent service and the great food.
Dinner was a ten!!
Our best meal in Charleston
We dined here on a Saturday night and had a great experience. The filet was delicious and juicy- we also ordered the potatoes with truffle butter and mac and cheese pie. The beer was good and the cocktail was small but pretty strong. Overall great experience- one of my top steaks for sure!
Great service and great food. There were so many things that I wanted to try on the menu but ended up ordering the bone marrow escargot - it was fabulous! I can't wait to go back and continue exploring!
Excellent food. The macaroni side, filet, and short rib were phenomenal!
All good but there should be more GF dessert options, in addition to sorbet.
It was an awesome experience. The food was delicious and the service was exceptional. I would definitely go there again anytime I am in Charleston!
Impeccable! From cocktails to appetizers to the pork porterhouse and swordfish entree. Amazing!!
Food was amazing and locally sourced. Steaks were fabulous and cooked perfectly. Jordan was our server and he was amazingly well informed and extremely attentive. You should definitely ask for his table. You will not be disappointed.
Fantastic menu and great service!
Everything about McCrady’s is perfect. From the service right down to the dinner rolls, you can’t ask for a better dining experience.
Paige was our server and was very attentive and helpful. The meal was delicious and the courses were nicely spaced.
Absolutely one of the best dining experiences of our lives.
Easter Sunday brunch. Bloody Mary’s were just ok. We were hoping for some more elaborate garnishes. Food was good. Nothing extraordinary.
Best meal I have had in Charleston. Quality chef, diverse menu, excellent craft beer and bourbon selection.
Excellent service and tremendous food. The sword fish special was just great. Also, very attentive service.
