When I arrived at the restaurant for my 2:00 p.m. reservation, there were no diners in the restaurant and no one at the hostess stand. There was a sign by the hostess stand that stated "please wait to be seated" After 5 minutes of standing by the hostess stand, a server walked by and when I asked if this was McCoy's restaurant, she responded yes and kept on walking. When another server carrying a tray of glasses walked by a few minutes later, I asked her if they were open because I have a 2:00 reservation and there were no diners in the restaurant and no one at the hostess stand, she responded yes and kept on walking. When I went to the bar to get my valet ticket validated, the bartender was concerned because I had just arrived and was now leaving. When I told him what had just happened, he told me that was too bad and validated my parking ticket. I can not evaluate the food because we did not stay there to eat. The photos on their website of the dinning room are misleading. The actual restaurant is an open area room, more like a beach restaurant bar - not a restaurant that is portrayed on their website or that you would find in a Marriott Hotel for finer dining. The valet folks were wonder, professional and quick.
Labeled as ocean front, but sitting at the table, you couldn't really see the ocean. Service was not good. They seemed put out that they had to wait on us, until the bill came, then our waitress became chatty. Guess she remembered she works for tips.
First time visiting on vacation staff could not do more for you - good casual food - beautiful setting
The restaurant was wonderful. Staff was super friendly and helpful. The only problem was that the open table res didn’t make it to restaurant. We were still able to get a table.
What can I say. Easily my worst dining experience in the last year and a half. Only bright spot was that manager realized how poor and comped a meal. Not what I wanted for my Valentine’s Day date.
Quite simple It was closed for renovation which we were not informed of. Lovely staff said it was decided a week ago but then we heard from locals that it had been closed for a month!! Very disappointing. Who wants to eat in a ballroom!!!
Great service. Clean facility. Food was good. Good value.
Limited menu and not what we expected. We traveled from MI and only had 2 days in the area. The service was great but the view and food wasn’t what we expected.
I didn't see very many gluten free options at all (except of course for a green salad).
Was a little concerned when we got there because it was hot, almost like the doors to the pool area were open. However our server quickly remedied that and we were off to a fantastic food journey. Everything we had was delicious; sun dried tomato hummus was yummy. I had the lemon ricotta ravioli with fennel sauce, it was fantastic. Everyone at the table enjoyed their meal. It's not a fancy or expensive place but the Chef is outstanding. It was a shame that we were the only one in the place for dinner. I will be back.
The food was over cooked, FF were cold and hard. Fish was dry. Could not really see the ocean.
We were told parking would be free, however there is an $8.00 charge on my card. Waiter was excellent.
We were staying at the hotel and my wife and daughter were both dealing with some food issues and our server Craig was super helpful and knowledgeable . The food was very good but the menu was a little limited.
Waiter Craig is awesome and host at front was a doll. Food was great, very accomodating with food allergies.
Good burger, shrimp and fish tacos. Service by Sue outstanding
Average hotel breakfast but a bit below any other Marriott Resort I'd stay before
Good fish tacos!
Average breakfast bufé
We dined at McCoy's not knowing anything about their restaurant. We needed a place for six people on a Saturday night, and were extremely pleased. Everyone was welcoming, and the service could not have been better. Food was delicious. I recommend the risotto. Definitely will be back
Very flexible with my allergies...altered several meals. I will be back.
This restaurant is in the Marriott. It was empty on Saturday night. The food was pretty good but menu options were minimal.
My soup and salad was great, my husbands sliced steak was very fatty. There was a female singer who was great
Meh. Sweet but inexperienced waiter. Bland food. Dirty wine glass. If you are staying at the hotel and are too tired to go out....perhaps. Otherwise head to Cafe Buca!
It's a very plain Marriott eating space with a small bar. Not really a restaurant for anyone other than those staying at the hotel. The food was good and the service was fine but there is no ambiance. The outdoor space was also lackluster and filled with families and kids hanging by the pool.
We travelled on Christmas Day and were pleasantly surprised to have an impeccable holiday meal. The food was delicious and we had fantastic service from Lin!
My girlfriend and I came here on a date, it was late, around 9:30 when they're set to close at 10, so it would probably be much better earlier. We both had a couple of drinks, the server was very friendly. I got the whole cooked snapper and she got the salmon. Hers was probably better than mine, there were a few bones and scales that the chef missed during preparation which made it less enjoyable for me but still pretty decent. We may go back someday.
Rainy evening under the outdoor awning.....aside from several people at the outdoor bar, we had the outdoor dining to ourselves. Many patrons chose the indoor seating and bar. The setting is beautiful, the food was superb and our server Lyn was outstanding !
Hesitant when we first arrived.. no real ambience in dining room. Ate near bar. Waiter was very good and food was excellent!😊
Outside dining looked very nice but was too windy when we were there. We will go back😎
This restaurant is located inside a large hotel. The decor was fresh and clean and our server was most responsive. The noise level is over the top even though there were no more than 25 people there. The menu was small and the food was well prepared.
Craig was our server and he was very pleasant. He was very kind and made sure my girlfriend and I enjoyed our food and drinks. I could tell he was a master with the menu, but the food was great and so was the service. We will be coming back again soon.
Nice place. Pricey drinks but overall not bad. Out side dining is shorts and inside looks for semi-formal.
Went on a Saturday night with an 8:30 reservation, which we really didn't need. There were only a couple of tables that were taken. Very pretty place. Hopefully they will get more diners during the season. We ordered from the Dine Out Fort Lauderdale menu. I had the lamb chops and my husband had the salmon. Both very good, but not the best, nothing special. However, our service was excellent. Very attentive without being annoying. I would return during the season to see if it picks up.
Very good food and service!!! I will reccomend to friends and family.
We made a reservation for the Fort Lauderdale Dine Out - this shouldn't be an option on the site. It was in a hotel which is fine, but it's a cafeteria meets pool bar -if that is what you're looking for, on the beach, nice breeze, plastic cups, pool guests playing next to you, this is the spot. I felt that the website was a gross misrepresentation of what the space was and what we should expect. My husband mistakenly sat on a soaked outdoor kitchen and our first drink was terrible - not a great start. The wait staff didn't seem well trained, or if that wasn't the case, not well managed. The manager did remake our drink and give us one on the house for the long wait, but it wasn't worth our only evening out. This really shouldn't be categorized as a restaurant for non-hotel guests.
Is is not nice to pay $65.00 a person to see everyone pass by to the pool no shoes or shirts ect...
great food not so great atmosphere.
The only issue we had was the scallops. The menu does not mention and the waitress left out that for $18 (yes, $18) you only get 2 TINY scallops and 4 pieces of yucca. It was probably worth about $8, not double the price. This isnt relevant, but one of the televisions was playing Forensic Files, they were showing murder cases from the 90's. Not something that should be playing on a pool side beach restaurant, it was awkward. The rest of the food was delicious.
When booked with opentable.com, I specifically requested that we should be seated someplace quiet, not near the kitchen, and maybe near a window, off to the side. We were initially sat at a 2 top table with minimal space on the table for bread/butter, drinks, appetizers etc., while there were many other choices available, including a nicer booth.
I believe the staff did not look at this request with my reservation. They promptly changed the seating to our liking, but I had to ask for this, which made me uncomfortable.
Perhaps OpenTable Com should remind the establishments to make every effort to accommodate requests when available and reasonable, which mine was.
Excellent Thanksgiving meal! Thank you!!!
What a wonderful evening! The food was wonderful, as was the service. We'll be back!
It was a bit too hot to dine outside so we took a window seat. Service was good, seemed to take awhile for our avocado turkey burger seeing as there were only 2 other tables, but it was delicious (I love the skinny fries too). I ordered a Coke when I was halfway done with my burger and didn't receive it until I was finished...oh well...The hotel(Marriott) pool/bar scene looked vibrant and we will def look into staying there sometime in the future. Enjoy!
The server Lin was great. I ordered the Florida Pompano it was over cooked and dry. My husband and son ordered the two different short rib dishes and they did not enjoy the meal.
