About

This restaurant is permanently closed.

McCormicks Fish House in downtown Seattle is a classic steakhouse and seafood restaurant combination providing a cozy place for lunch or dinner. Step inside and immerse yourself in the dark wood accents and cleverly designed stained glass windows reminiscent of the old fishing villages that dot the Pacific Northwest shores. McCormicks Fish House is in walking distance of numerous shops and businesses, and makes the perfect stopping point for a midday meal or an after-work drink with friends

The McCormicks Fish House menu is a mix of fresh seafood and USDA Grade A beef. You will want to check out the chef special lobster and shrimp melt served on an English muffin with a touch of lemon butter. Other menu items include sharable plates, half shell oysters, soups, salads and sandwiches.

I received a notice but didn't not give me a reason why the Seattle location closed down. The notice was very vague. It was very disappointing as that was where a friend wanted to celebrate her birthday lunch.

I'm so sad my favorite downtown Seattle lunch spot has closed. I'm hopeful it may reopen in a less impacted by construction location soon. My stop for a light lunch happened on 9/2, the very day they closed, as I now learn. I will miss the gracious staff and pleasant surroundings as well as a number of menu favorites.

Service was top notch, and fish and chips wrre above average. Kind of pricy but service made it worth it.

An excellent place to take out of town visitors who can appreciate the ambience of the busy waterfront view and also appreciate the quality of the food service and the dishes served. We would definitely return to the waterfront restaurant but probably not the downtown 'Fish House'.

So sad to learn they have closed, just since we were there in late August. The service was lovely, and the food good. Best wishes to the former waitstaff and cooks.

Our anniversary dinner was ruined by mediocre food and a wine list that had no local wines. The only saving grace was the server was great.

Great service & good food. This restaurant is mostly casual dining with good portions and fair pricing. The staff is very attentive and willing to accommodate dietary restrictions.

Expected more for its name's sake. I immediately regretted making a reservation at this venue for a gathering. Lowered my overall experiences with McCormick's elsewhere.

We work in the Columbia Tower and it is great to have a nice restaurant so close by. The food is excellent and I am always able to get in for lunch even last minute which is very much appreciated. Excellent staff .. very friendly and always accommodating.

Had a terrible experience. I was informed if you are handicap (wheel chair) that you need to put that as well in your reservation. We were staying in Bellevue and has such a great experience with Jeff a few days before headed back again for a wonderful second experience. It went from 5 from a few days before to an awful 1 and a dreaded experience. No one was manning the door when we arrived and no one was there waiting. I opened the door so my husband could pull in because he has an electric wheel chair scooter. I moved a chair to make room for him to turn the scooter around. I come back to the entry way and stand at the front waiting to be seated. By the time the manager comes up there are 4 to 6 people waiting. No one else was there anyhow I raise my hand when she comes back because by this time the counter is filled with wondering people and say 2 Gifford and the other couple says we were hear first. I point to my husband and explain that no where they are standing is where I opened the door to let him get in and that no one was waiting. The manager says to the crowd okay who has a reservation then. None of them have one only I do and say reservation Gifford party of 2. She then in front of everyone starts yelling at us that we did not put handicap in our reservation. I said you were here last time and they pulled that one chair out and he pulled in. She said well that table is not available. I said we didn't put handicap in the reservation because he can walk to any table and he can leave the scooter outside if there is no room. This whole thing is playing out embarrassingly in front of a large crowd now. We are seated and get I would say the worst waiter in possibly 5 years. Messes up our order very rude and doesn't bring any refills of ice tea luckily we got a gal that was around she brought us more water and tea and we tried to give her 5.00 and she would not take it. This girl needs to be found and promoted or at least highly praised.

Had a wonderful experience with Jeff as our server. He made the entire visit special and memorable. He seemed to really love his job and we told him all of the Mccormicks we had been too from San Francisco to Jakes In Portland and he was just a great server. Tea was always filled up. Food was wonderful.

The Restaurant itself was pretty nice. We made reservations and ended up getting a pretty secluded table, which made for easy conversation and more intimate event. The staff were friendly, and the environment wasn't too bad. We went at 6:30pm, and the bar was decently full, however the restaurant wasn't very busy. The waiter was quick getting us drinks from the bar, and the food came out quickly. The food was good, but not great for the prices we paid. The food was pricey and the portions were extremely small. I had gotten the Sirloin and asked for it medium rare, but unfortunately it came back more on the side of well done, which was unfortunate for it being $40 and just 9 oz. Overall a descent place, but I can't really imagine going back.

Extremely disappointed in the oil-bathed 'specials' that night. Staff was very professional but food was in need of a new chef or two. Tipped for the service but lost a customer for life.

We were out for a birthday lunch for one of our co-workers. Service was fine, just not as good as we've had in the past. Of course, it was very busy. Was hoping he would offer a little birthday treat (small bowl of ice cream for the birthday girl) but didn't.

I have eaten here before off and on for a number of years. I found this day to be a ok day nothing to write home about. The waiter appeared not engaged in our table at all. The 36.00 piece of halibut was not 7 ounces it was closer to 4 and it came to the plate cold. I choose not to send it back as we were hungry and was quite frankly it would take longer to get another plate. In the future when and if I eat there again I will not hesitate to ask for another waiter and to make sure my food is right.

Terrible experience dining at McCormick's Fish House. The food was horrible. Crab cakes were squishy and appeared to be made with Wonder Bread. Ordered shrimp on a salad and they came to the table veins and all - completely uncleaned. Salad dressing was bland. Mussels were ok, not great. Not sure what was going on considering this is supposed to be a Seattle institution. Our server was great, and begged us to give them another try. No way are we going back. Awful.

I was attending a special occasion for US Veterans. I very much enjoy fresh fish and chose the Planked Salmon. It was cooked to perfection....not too overly done and not raw inside.....just right with the right amount of seasoning.

Lunch was actually cancelled due to a power outage downtown. However, I've been wanting to write and tell you all that I think you should switch back to wild salmon. That would make a lot of people happy. Makes sense, being in Seattle.

McCormick's is overdue for a renovation. I went recently for the first time in many (20?) years, and nothing had changed at all. Overall, the space seemed rundown and the food was fine (nothing special) but overpriced.

I usually do not go to chain restaurants when traveling, but I gave in to my parties desire to have lunch here. Maybe I set my expectations too high. It was based off of other visits to McCormicks located in San Francisco and Irvine, CA, so I do not think that was the case. The combination of mediocre service (there were less than 10 patrons in restaurant and I had to flag and find our waiter down twice) and food that was just ok prompted my ratings today.

It appeared we could reserve a table in the bar so that is what I did. However, my friend got there first and was informed they did not take bar reservations. They must not have read the comments I'd made in the original booking. My friend was seated at a nice table in the bar and I joined her there.

Great service, very good food, good menu variety and a nice place to take a family for a meal. Also an out of the way place that's easy to get to.
Only downside to this place was having the waitstaff try to sell its patrons on some sort of frequent flyer type program. To me that seems a little bit desperate.

We ate here prior to Mariner's Opening Day. Keith was wonderful as always. The clam chowder and wedge salad were great as always. This is one of our favorite restaurants.

The stuffed shrimp were excellent as were the margarita's and black and blue beers. The parmesan crusted sole was not as light and fluffy as it usually is. Don't think the pan was hot enough so consequently it was heavy with oil. Not a reason to stop coming here however. They have a great menu.
