When we arrived, the hostess at the outdoor stand told us to check in with the maitre'd inside, but we asked about seating outside, and she said, check in inside first. The maitre'd said talk to the outside hostess... Of course this was all nonsense. They weren't seating anyone, anyway, although there were PLENTY of tables available, because the kitchen was behind. So we sat at the bar, where my cocktail was 3/4 full--did the bartender take the first sip?--and my date's Blue Moon came without garnish--for $8 a beer, they could put a citrus wedge on it!
Once we got a table, though, our waitress was a doll. The food was average: the scallops weren't trimmed, the plate of oysters came with barely any horseradish, that sort of thing.

Great food. M&S works at a slower pace, make sure you have good friends who won't mind waiting for a drink or two.

I expected better from this restaurant. The decor was tired and needs to be re-done. the service was excellent but the food was nothing special and very overpriced for what it was.

The table in the nook was perfect for celebrating a 40th anniversay. Food was great, service was Ok. He was trying too hard. Coffee was never really hot. Drinks outside after dinner was relaxing.

I had made reservations for 3 and requested to be seated outside. It was early and plenty of tables were available. The maitre'd didn't seem to understand "Reservation" and asked where we would like to sit. Seeing open tables and knowing I had a reseravation for 3 outside, I pointed to a round table on the perimeter- he didn't have a clue what we were doing. He kept pointing to another table and we even told him- round table with the white umbrella. Regardless of what we did, he sat us in the middle at a square table, no umbrella. 20 min.later, we see 2 people get the round table when we had 3 people and reservation, I was very disappointed in that. The waitress was great. Sea scallops were a bit dry, but what do you

Not really up to the standard of other mccormick and schmicks I have eaten at. Food was fair at best and restaurant more resembled applebees than a nicer restaurant. Service was ok. Overall, it was a poor value for the money - it was not nice enough or good enough to justify the prices particularly given other options in the area. If you are an M&S fan choose a different location such as park square which is much nicer and better.

fresh fish always - nice selection . presentation a bit boring - needs more healthy veggies and brown rice for those of us who are carb conscious. wine list needs a bit more on the higher end . Mostly eat there often for lunch. Salads okay but could also use some imagination.

Much hype but far less than expected in the categories of both kitchen service and table service. It does sit squarely in a tourist area and fits perfectly as nothing more than a one-time tourist visit.

Everything was great - it was a little muggy outside so we moved inside and it was quite comfortable. The portions are decent for the price, but it's not cheap. You get what you pay for though, as it's high quality. The only thing I regret is leaving the leftover carrot cake on the table!

Great dining, location, fair price and service is great. I would recomment the clam chowder and cajun catfish. Yum. Great for families or romantic. Different spots in the restaurants to cater to both experiences. Will definitely be back my next trip to Boston.

The food was outstanding. The mussel appetizer was so good my date canceled her entree and ordered another for her entree. The management was phenomenal. I asked if the mussel entree was in their cookbook, he told me he didn't know. He gave me a copy of their old cookbook as he told me a new one is in the works anyway. Couldn't have been nicer.

Had a great lunch after graduation with my mother - who is picky about her fish. She loved what she got. I had oysters that were amazing and the tuna wasabi dish was fantastic - spicy and fresh - just like the waitress said. YUM!

Food was great. Had 5 PM reservation then off to a show with 7:30 start. Had to ask for water and bread. Never received a water refil. Coffee was cold and returned it. Spoke with Manager who did not comp any of meal but gave his name and number.. suggested I call before next visit.

hit or miss restaurant. Last dinning experience was a good one, this time not very good overall. I think a major part was the lack of service our waiter provided as he kept forgetting our orders etc. I had to repeatedly request a slice of lemon for my water dido for the bread that was suppose to be brought to us. After the third time, I just gave up. He also brought us out the wrong wine so that needed to get sent back. We ordered a large sampler for apps and that never came. When our food came, our food from soup to entree was room temperature. desert was good at least. had better service there in the past. Also didn't know this restaurant had a "bag your own wine" policy - serves us right for not polishing the whole thing there.

Go here each year (and more frequently) and treat a friend for her birthday lunch. I requested a cup cake or something similar with a candle when I made the reservation on open tables. I know requesting special items doesn't always come to fruition, but our desert was free and that was a real treat. I love the food here; work close by so a very convenient location. Waitress was a little 'too' attentive.

Very disappointed since i have eaten at the original one in Portland OR. The wild mixed grill dinner was LOADED with butter and took the taste away from the fish. We were seated in what I call was the Dungeon of the restaurant , lower level away from everyone in a room with about 6 tables.
I would not return or recommend to anyone

Our dining experience was fine at McCormick & Schmick's. The service was very good and the food was fine. This restaurant is fun during the warmer weather since you can sit outside and enjoy the people watching as well as the good food. The inside of the restaurant is also enjoyable with comfortable tables and some interesting views. We tried several types of seafood, and there were no complaints. It is a fun place and worth trying.

We had an early dinner at 3pm on a Saturday. The staff was very professional and courteous. They were timely in their attention. The food was very good and plenty to the serving. Since it was early there was not much of a crowd. They were able t accommodate 7 without difficulty. I highly recommend it for families and large groups.

Raw Oysters were very good. Will have to try out the Wednesday $1 oysters at the bar. Generous salad. Entree was fish, cooked properly, not overdone and overspiced. Would have liked to see a few "lighter choices" for dessert e.g. fruit or even a few pieces of chocolate. Desserts were so huge I had to say no.

Food was excellent. Service was great. The waiter knew exactly what went into preparing each dish. It was my first time eating a Lobster.
The location is right outside Faneuil Hall and an excellent outdoor setting.
Will go again.
