Excellent service! The food never disappoints. I really enjoyed the NY Strip and their creme brûlée was delicious.
Très peu de monde une bonne carte et des plats très bons
J’avais signalé dans la réservation que c’était pour un anniversaire mais cela n’a jamais été relevé
Great seafood options but also many other choices for non-fish eaters. Good location that is easy to get to from the T and in a walkable area for enjoying the historic sites. Friendly service and varied table options for getting a quiet booth or window table.
I would highly recommend M&S... good value and very good service... staff was very attentive and food was excellent! Even my kids loved it and they fussy! Lol
The drinks were perfectly mixed. The service was absolutely great as well. My steak was cooked perfectly, my only issue is that my wife's lobster tails came out cold and a bit over cooked as well
Waiter disappeared for long periods of time. Restaurant was not busy so not sure why. We were not his only table with this issue. Food was very good though.
Our experience is always great here. The waiters/waitresses are excellent and the food is always delicious.
Disappointing experience. We went their for lunch and it was very disorganized. The bread was not ready when we got there and we never received it. One would think that they would have known to have bread ready for lunch time. Also, they were out of many basic items. The waiter was not very gracious.
We went to McCormick and Schmicks before a Celtic's game. Service was prompt but not intrusive but it was a Sunday afternoon so the restaurant wasn't really busy. Cocktails were expertly prepared, the seafood was fresh and had a lovely presentation and the steaks were exactly as ordered. I never gave the restaurant its' due consideration because it was in the Faneuil Hall Marketplace but we will definitely return.
Why bother. I was completely ignored by my server and sat for 15 minutes with my finished plate in front of me. Save your money.
Met friends at McCormick & Schmick's for dinner recently. Had made reservations on Open Table prior. When we arrived we were met immediately by Hostess Ashley and led upstairs to a great corner table with a wonderful view of Faneuil Hall proper. Our friends arrived after us and were led to our table. Great crafted cocktails before dinner, followed by appetizers of oysters on the half shell, caesar salad, waldorf salad and soup. Entrees consisted of 6oz filet mignons for my wife and our female friend, 13oz N.Y.Strip steak for her boyfriend, and grilled salmon in a berry reduction for me. Steaks came with broccolini, mine with grilled potatoes vegtables. Wife also ordered side of asparagus, shared by the table, and we also had a order of lobster infused mashed potatoes to share. Steaks were all cooked perfectly medium, nice and juicy. My salmon was also cooked perfectly, flaky and flavorful. Service was excellent and provided by Mike. He was professional, knowledgeable, and friendly, pacing the approximately 3 hour meal perfectly.
Ok. Great food and presentation. Great location, but it’s time to refresh the place.
Great time with friends. Waiter was absolutely wonderful. Food just okay and a little expensive but still had a great night. I would go back.
Took my date here last night for early Valentine's day date. Loved food and they were especially accomdating towards her gluten allergy with a separate menu. Also the chocolate bag dessert was a lot of fun and tasty
Our dishes were properly prepared, but had just an average taste. Not much creativity to the presentation, and probably because a large chain needs uniformity across many locations. The table service was a bright note, very pleasant and attentive. The restaurant is in need of a good spring cleaning, as there was a deep dust layer within arms reach of our table.
It was a great dinner for my fiancé’s birthday. Service was great!
I held a dinner to celebrate my daughter having received her Bachelor's Degree. The food was good and they had great choices for wine. The service was excellent. They had run out of a couple of things but our waiter bent over backwards to offer alternatives and was outstanding. I have been there in the past and will definitely return in the future.
This is a chain I know for many years. Unfortunately they closed their New York and New Jersey restaurants. I got in Boston the excellent food I have experienced in the past. It is a very good not expensive restaurant specializing in see food.
We ate at the bar and James, our server / bartender was outstanding!
The food was great as was the server, but we were seated in a booth by the front door. It was 2 degrees outside - we froze.
Everything was great. Our server Molly was top notch, she was attentive, personable and very knowledgeable. The drinks were great and our meals were perfect. We could not have had a better experience!! Molly made the difference!!
Went on Christmas Day. We had reservations and were seated promptly. Food was delicious. Didn't feel rushed.
You cannot go wrong at McCormick & Schmick's consistency always delicious top quality food, top notch service, upscale clientele and atmosphere.
Service was slow even with cocktails. Waitress nice, but not well informed. Food was good. Manager did comp drinks due to the wait and cold french fries!
Excellent dinner. Busy Holiday Saturday night for the restaurant but we received great service from Mike "A Ben Affleck Lookalike". We all enjoyed our dinner choices and were glad we had room for dessert. The dessert menu was surprising, had many excellent choices that we enjoyed and made our dinners complete and us very happy.
Not happy. Service was terrible. Our appetizers came out same time as dinner. Took 1/2 hour for waiter to bring wasabi for my seared tuna. By then everything was cold. The waiter blamed the season.
This was a special night and wanted a special place, obviously this isn’t that place.
Fantastic Experience, everything from our server, to the manager on duty whom came to our table multiple times, and even went out of her way to go and get whole Maine Lobsters which is what we came for... They went above and beyond Great experience
I will go there every time I am in town... absolute best service we have experienced in the Boston area.
Place was dead .. I found out why . I had 5 guys for dinner they put us in a alcove which was fine .The waiter was surely and over talked the entire menu line item by line item . Got the drinks right that was it . The food came out under cooked two orders of steak were sent back for being raw not med.rare .Took 15 mins to get them back to the table . The steaks were tasteless and hard to cut with steak knives . I would never go back and I guess thats why for a Thursday night in Naples in Mercato this place only had 5 tables at 730 pm with people at them . They poor a great drink but the food went way down hill along with the service . never going back JOE O
Very average. I've had a number of occasions to dine at M&S's across the country over the years and typically have a very favorable experience. Our waitress was friendly and competent. I had the Sesame Crusted Ahi Tuna and everything on the plate slightly warmer than cold. My wife had the Chesapeake Buttermilk Fried Shrimp and her dish was the same. Maybe they just sat too long? Who knows. Nothing was bad enough to complain, just average at best. Regardless, we expected a better overall experience.
I was so embarrassed. I took my mom, mother-in-law, and daughter to this restaurant for a girls weekend special dinner. My mother never got her tea, my mother in law never got her drink. My food was so spicy I could barely eat it. The waiter said, "oh, that's a shame, I'm sorry. I've never eaten that."
I asked for the check and we paid cash so we would not have to wait as the service was so terrible and the restaurant was so cold, we were dying to get out! I would say find someplace else to go and if you have a reservation, change it!
The food is always good at this chain. First time at this one. Server was friendly and nice atmosphere, not noisy. However my meal was not warm. I didn’t send it back because the wait was long. A little disappointed.
Great place to meet before a Bruins game. Wonderful selection of cocktails and beer. Filet and Salmon were divine! The waitstaff was very friendly and enjoyed our time there.
Unbearably disappointed with McCormick and Schmick's Seafood. We made reservations weeks in advance for a Saturday evening at 7:00 pm. We were seated without issue, and the service was fine, but they need to remove Seafood from their name. What Seafood restaurant in Boston runs out of Lobster three hours before closing. After ordering, it was at least twenty minutes until our server came back with menus asking people to reorder.....and it happened a second time. By the time the food arrived to the table, the available seafood that was originally ordered was cold, the steak wasn't even close to being cooked as ordered and they had to substitute sides because they were out. We have eaten at this location many times in the last (5+) years for both social and business occasions. This past experience was our last; not probably - definitely.
This was 2d time for Thanksgiving dinner in the very private booth upstairs. Ask for it! Unfortunately this year much of the food was served too cold including the coffee. Plates went back.
Food was mediocre service was terrible. Manager was nowhere to be found and when I spoke with her she didn't seem to care. Waitress took off halfway through our meal gone for about an hour
Good food, but the place was dead on a Saturday night and the service was bad. We asked the waiter about the menu and he told us to read the description. Drinks were blah at best. The cosmo came out different on 2 occasions. One meal was ordered wrong, had to be rushed thru. Mashed potatoes were left off and had to be asked for. The waiter had pointed out that the dish came with cheddar mashed, then brought the dinner without any.
Music was dated... decor needs updating. Too bad cuz the food was good.
Everything we expected in a Boston staple restaurant. All the food options you could possibly want. The perfect location when doing to Boston tourist walk around. Our food and wine choices were excellent! Service was just right. Attentive but not intrusive. If you haven’t tried it, go. If you have been before, go again. Great food. Great value. Great fun.
Nice restaurant. Good food. Great service. Great location near Faneuil Hall.
Really enjoyed it.
The fish dish was excellent although on the pricey side...but it was free for me being a retired vet. Of course we tipped the attentive waiter on the regular prices on the menu. Both my husband and I are vets and we enjoyed the trip into Boston for the celebration of Vets Day. Thank you for offering the free entrees in honor of our service to this great country.
In the past we always went to the restaurant at Park Plaza in Boston. No comparison what so ever. Everything involved in our fiasco at Fanueil Hall was a total disaster. From the time we got seated and where we got seated was a catastrophe. Leading up to the meal? An epic mess. Service disastrous Wobbly table, almost spilled our drinks. whoops ! My spouse said The worst meal she had ever ate My dearest never complains in restaurants, this time she did. Oh the manager was very suave we will treat you better next year Hah hold your breath. My fellow veterans do not go to that place unless somebody is holding a gun to your head.
