McCall’s Heartland Grill – Stratosphere Hotel Ratings and Reviews
We stay at the Stratosphere monthly and dine at McCalls every time.
The steaks are excellent but we are leaning toward the Mahi Mahi and Salmon lately. Both are cooked perfectly, very moist and tasty. Service is always very good. Prices are fair for the quality of food.
Great service by an enthusiastic and friendly waiter (Godolfo?). The wine was pretty good. Little else to commend it. It was not crowded so conversation was easy but the steak and potatoes felt like they had been cooked earlier and then reheated. I guess there’s not much else in the neighborhood.
The ambience in the dining room is very nice. The decoration is meant more for romance. The food itself was great. I had the rib-eye, side of green beans and polenta for the main meal. Everything was cooked to perfection. My wife and I started with the sampler platter, which is a must-try. Contains potato skins, prawns and chicken wings. The service was fast, friendly and helpful. Will definitely eat here again.
We had the steak and lobster tail. The steak was tender but the accompanying onion rings beneath the steak was soggy and not crunchy at all. The lobster tail was brownish in colour and not that tasty. The green beans and mashed potatoes were just okay. The complimentary thin bread sticks served were very tasty. The dessert consisted of a parfait container of vanilla ice cream with what tasted like frozen fruit which were not entirely thawed out.
This our second time visiting McCall's. The dining experience was fantastic both times. My wife and I enjoyed the steak and lobster dinner on each occasion. Both times the steak was prepared perfectly, and the portions are generous. This is an upscale steak house. This will be our annual stop when visiting Vegas. The meal is worth leaving the strip.
We had dinner for two, the lobster and steak 3-course special. It was wonderful! Such a great value. The ambiance of the restaurant, right off a busy casino, was surprisingly quiet and lovely. The service was great, attentive yet not intrusive. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal, and staying at the Stratosphere was an added bonus for convenience.
Too bad there are no signs of the restaurant outside of the hotel. you need to find it.
The food was very good and very well prepared. The choice is interesting for fish and for steaks.
If you want a good restaurant in Las Vegas without paying an awful bill I recommend this place.
Chad, Waiter, only came to life when time for his tip. Prime rib was tough. Forgot our lobster.
Salad and blue cheese dressing was excellent. The Sampler platter was overcooked: shrimp,
potato, and buffalo wings...TERRIBLE! Mashed potatoes tasted like they came from a box.
We ate the night before at Tuscany Gardens and their ribeye and shrimp Fettuccini Alfredo was excellent!
We had an excellent meal which consisted of steak and lobster. The meat was cooked to perfection and the garlic mashed potatoes were delicious. Kim, our waitress, was awesome and offered great choices. She was also very friendly and on top of our order. Definitely worth dining here!
Great space, great service and a great meal. Had a travelzoo coupon for 3 course steak and lobster for 2 for $74, plus a bogo drink bonus. Very great bread basket, especially the cracker bread. Caesar salad, big steak served with an onion ring and part of a deep fried mushroom, small-ish lobster tail, green beans and a big serving of piped mashed potatoes. Dessert was vanilla ice cream and berries. Everything was very tasty. Would eat here again.
