Great food and wonderful service. Can't wait to go back!
Always consistent and easy access. We will be frequent visitors in the foreseeable future.
McAdoos is always a favorite, enjoy the atmosphere and look forward to our next visit.
We always love the Brunch and this time was no exception!!
Great wedge salad. Fried plates are far better than they were during McAdoo's early years. Husband's mahi was nice. Overall pleasant dining experience.
seafood was great!!! Parmesan crusted chicken was very spicy (hot) I guess it was cayenne pepper in the breading? Not sure, but hard to enjoy because my mouth was on fire! Didn’t expect that fish to be so hot. I think it would have been really good if I could have tasted it...
The food was very good. The biggest problem was that there was one waitress, she was excellent, but she had no help for busing the table, more water, bread, etc. As a result there was a long wait at times. We had nine people for a very special birthday party and more service would have been greatly appreciated.
Beautiful location in well appointed redo of local post office. Was so hoping to love the food as a cajun transplant and all the great crawfish options but it did not measure up. Red beans and rice were over seasoned and did not taste authentic. Relleno was over battered. Enchiladas with seafood sauce didn't have the right ratios of cheese and sauce. The sauce was very good but there was so little cheese in the enchiladas it was like eating mostly tortillas. Like the fusion idea but it was not well executed.
It was in a historic building. Service was great and food was hot and tasty.
Lovely start to my post birthday/NYE festivities. Host and waiter were so kind and patient
We enjoy dining at McAdoos. It is a beautiful restaurant with great service and top quality seafood.
Kareem our server made the difference! I’m sure I spelled his name wrong, but he made the event very nice. We are vegetarian so he had the chef roast vegys for us and the cheese grits we’re awesome. Karem was great.
The grilled oysters were excellent, reminded me of the Acme Oysters Bar in New Orleans.
We've never had a disappointing dish at McAdoo's. The food is always excellent, and the drinks from the bar are great as well
The only small negative would be that my husband asked that they not overcook the Halibut. It was not terribly overcooked, however, it was too dry to my husband’s liking. I thought it tasted fine.
We had reservations and were seated on time. We both ordered salads and a small appetizer. The waiter brought us water and came back to the table several times to tell us the appetizer wasn’t ready yet. He finally brought us our “warm” salads and said he was still waiting on the 2 shrimp appetizer. We were almost finished with our salads he brought out our appetizer. By the way, our salads were our dinner. He never once came to refill our water glasses or check in. Probably won’t be returning to McAdoos any time soon. We live here and want to support locally owned restaurants but they aren’t worth the time or the prices.
McAdoo's is our go-to restaurant for nearly any occasion.
We made a reservation days in advance, arrived early, hostess greeted us, looked at our reservation, verified our cell phone number, and said we will text you when we are ready for you. She then turned her back to us with no follow up on time or what was next and whispered to the other hostess. We sat on the bench and waited. After 15 minutes, my husband asked what was the delay on seating politely. The other hostess said I’ll get a manager. He was just inquiring and did not think it was that critical that a manager was needed yet. A manager came by and apologized and offered to comp an appetizer and glass of wine for the delay then seated us herself. The waiter confirmed the comp so my husband ordered crab cakes and I had a Caesar salad. The salad came first and the crab cakes came 15 minutes later, were cold and had bits of shell in them. Our food came an hour later. The entrees were somewhat tasty but seemed to be thrown together. We were really sad because it was our anniversary, we had saved up to have a fine dining experience, had heard it was a neat place but felt like we were imposing versus being a local patron. My husband was upset through the whole experience so we probably won’t be back to celebrate our 24th anniversary next year :/
We love this place. The food is great and the staff is fast and friendly.
Birthday lunch. Our server was exceptional! Great food. Great experience!
Absolutely the greatest seafood place ever! Love the old Post Office setting too!
Old post office converted into a restaurant -- great decor and ambiance. Seafood is the attraction, and they do it very well. From fried to sauteed, to broiled, stuffed and grilled. We had a table of 8 for a Texas State graduation mid-day lunch, and everyone enjoyed their meal tremendously. Portions are large -- they don't scrimp! So, if you're up for sharing, that is definitely an option to evaluate. Highly recommend.
The food was good but some of our items were cold. The hostess wasn’t very helpful when we were seated at a table near exterior door. One of the members of our party had some recent health issues and was very cold. We asked the hostess if we could move to another table further away from the door & she told us there were not any more available even though we saw a couple of other empty tables. In fact there was one across the room that remained empty almost the entire time we were eating. We have never had any issues in the past there & this may have been because it was Friday evening.
We love Macadoos and are frequent visitors! Unfortunately this visit wasn’t up to par....our fondue was very watery, our meal was brought before our salads were eaten, my husbands meat was well done and there was virtually no cheese in his cheese grits. This won’t stop us from visiting again, it was just a big disappointment this go round and they weren’t even that busy.
Food was wonderful and service was outstanding!
Great food, price, service and atmosphere. What else can you wish for.
The good food was only excelled by the fine service
Excellent Food! Waiter stayed right with us, even being so busy! And we were a table of 7.
Great. You must get the fondue for an appetizer and you can’t go wrong with any of the entrées and the service is always exemplary.
Always a pleasure to enjoy a McAdoo's dinner. We celebrated an anniversary, and were kindly offered a dessert to help us celebrate. The dinner of redfish was outstanding.
Went for our anniversary dinner and everything was really good. Will definitely recommend and will be going back.
Please check your sparkling splits. We had two that were an off-brand and truly awful. We love McAdoos and we were quite surprised at the quality of these splits. Enjoyed a full bottle of another brand that was delightful. You should invest in high quality singles/splits as well.
Beautiful setting but I’m always hesitant to go there because it’s so inconsistent. It was no better this time. We ordered po boy sandwiches which were cold and the catfish platter was soggy on another dish. Our out of town guest were very disappointed with the food.
Great food and service, as always.
Been here many times. Food always outstanding. Only complaint we have ever had is the bar is very slow.
The service was great and the food was amazing! Perfect dinner for date night.
Food arrived cold, had no flavor. Waited over an hour to receive it. Very expensive for bad service and terrible food!
Great food and excellent service. Shrimp and grits were delicious. Salmon and Cajun pasta I heard was also delicious
The food is consistently good, however on this visit we had Patrick as our server. He was probably
