Very rude service. Waiter was impatient, abrasive and condescending. Food was excellent, but what is the point of going somewhere to have a nice time when you are treated like a second class citizen? I felt like I was in the bad part of a Third World country. There was no reason for the waiter to be so rude, except that it seemed like he didn't know any other way to be.
The food is fabulous and the service is perfect!! It is a great place to go with friends and share lots of food. The chicken Tikka is delicious and you've got to try the Vegetable Pakoras. The best Raita I've ever had!
Very friendly owner and caring for her customers, very tasty food, I have been there more than once, well Recomended
The food is absolutely amazing and so Is was the service.
Exquisite Indian food. Really enjoyed the flavors. Spice levels were tempered to meet our request.
We love the food at Mayur! it's just excellent! Our friend worked there in 1985 and it's an absolute gem for authentic Indian cuisine!
Unfortunately when checked in with my Name and reservations , the table was not ready neither they knew about the reservations , other than that, it went well.
Was very good
Great food and great service! Delicious authentic Indian cuisine.
Delicious food, every dish was perfect! Thank you for a wonderful culinary experience.
We had pretty much written off this restaurant due to several sub par dining experiences about a year ago , but decided to give it one last shot. It was worth it, they are redeemed. The food was excellent ( fish curry, chicken biryani, cooked perfectly. The service is always a little weak and we accept that. A homeless guy actually walked in off the street, stood inside and complained about the place (he was there for maybe 5 minutes) and no wait staff even looked up to see or acknowledge, oh well. Seems they do a very good take out business and that's probably the way to go here.
1) the dinnerware—Royal Doulton, contains lead, a known neurotoxin which causes developmental disorders and lower IQ. The company who manufactures the dinnerware was sued by the state of California for violating its Propostion 65 rules on lead. Look it up. Yet, this restaurant continues to serve us on poison trays. We ended up taking the food home rather than eating in the restaurant.
2) dirty silverware—my knife had brown stuff crusted on it.
3) food- chicken tikka was bland and the tandoori chicken tasted like lighter fluid.
4) service- the waiter kept interjecting himself, making suggestions even when we didn’t ask for his opinion. I specifically asked for additional rice and he said it wasn’t necessary. I insisted and he maintained that it was too much. Lo and behold, when we get home with the food, the rice isn’t enough. Despite this transgression, I still left a nice tip.
Food did not meet expectations and was not as good as the last time we were here.
Food tasted old and made both of us feel bad. Also, it was very bland.
Great Lamb chops, tender and marinated. My favorite dish on the menu.
Have eaten here twice. Great tasting food at very reasonable prices. Along Hwy 1, parking can be a problem, but worth the effort to experience something different. Any dish has been very good tasting and servings enough to share.
I can't say enough about Mayur. It is one of our favorite local restaurants and certainly our favorite Indian restaurant in OC. The food is extremely good, the menu is extensive and the service great. Though the prices may be a little higher, the quality of the food is worth every penny.
I would highly recommend Mayur to anyone. The food was simply amazing!
Very good Indian food, and great service! Nice and friendly stuff. I will definitively come back.
I've been to Mayur about 4 times now and each time the food has been outstanding. It's a little pricey but worth it if you compare it to some other Indian restaurants. All of the food was perfectly cooked and prepared. We ordered lamb curry, chicken tikka masala, mushroom gobi a spinach and lentil dish, and garlic naan. As a birthday surprise they brought me a delicious dessert of which I can't recall the name but it was perfect - not too sweet and not too heavy. Every thing was so delicious! Our waiter was a young Indian gentleman (I forget his name ) that was so patient and friendly with our slow ordering group. We also lingered and did not feel rushed out of there even on a Friday night. The service was great and the owner(?) or manager also came to the table to check on us. Mayur is a special occasion restaurant for me but I would love to frequent it more often! They also offer great lunch specials. I highly recommend Mayur!
We have found a new hidden treasure in Corona del Mar. An authentic and delectable treat for anyone who loves Indian Cuisine.
Every dish we had was delicious and the service was attentive and impeccable!
Friendly atmosphere that invites customers in!
We will definitely recommend it and come back!
We have dinned at Mayur Cuisine of India several times already and each meal has been exceptional. Service has been very good and look forward to each meal being as good as the last. Highly recommend, don’t forget as an option for dinning out.
So delicious! We had the Chilian Seabass, yum! Also the cauliflower and mushrooms. Rice and naan, love this restaurant!
I love Indian food and this was hands down the best I've had in California. The presentation, the food and service were all exceptional. I even had them prepare several dishes to take home for the next day. I will definitely return here again and again. If you like authentic Indian food, then put this one on your bucket list.
Been coming here for years & ALWAYS exceptional! Great restaurant, great service & excellent food!
We have been going there for many years, but this time was especially wonderful--great service, fabulous food as always. In addition, the aesthetics of the restaurant have greatly improved--even the dishes the food is served in are much better than before. Finally, if you like a quiet experience, go on Monday evening--the earlier the better. We had the place all to ourselves for the first hour of our dinner.
This was our first trip and we really enjoyed the food and excellent service. Unique entrees and an extensive but focused menu. For us though this would have to be a special occasion as it is on the high price end.
Glad we went. Ordered a chicke tikka dish awesome and Saag Paneer. Had to go fishing for the 2 pieces of paneer but the saag was very tasty. Ambiance very nice and service with a smile. Love to back
Not much to look decor-wise at, but really tasty food, the hot chutneys were great. A bit pricey, but we cleaned our plates! If you like Indian food, give them a try!
Wonderful.Seating is little tight
We love Mayur. The food is always great, but this time the service was off. We just had a really bad waiter. It was unfortunate. Nonetheless the food was good- so we'll go back!
I don't know much about Indian cuisine but I know I enjoyed our dishes. Great food. The service was friendly but nothing special. The man playing the sitar was amazing.
We dined at Mayur during N.B. restaurant week for the first time. It was a great way to sample a variety of their featured dishes, and we loved every bite! The flavors were amazing in their Mulligatawny chicken soup! We also enjoyed the tandoor Chilean Seabass and lamb chops. Their home-made mango sorbet capped off a delicious dining experience. The staff was friendly, attentive and we look forward to going back soon. We also met the owner, Anju Kapoor, and she was gracious and shared a bit of the restaurant's history with us. Thank you for a memorable birthday dinner!
Tried the restaurant week menu, it was delicious. The quinoa salad is amazing
Mayur is the best Indian cuisine in Corona Del Mar. The Daal (Lentil) appetizer is outstanding, their Naan (Indian flatbread) to die for and the curries are absolutely delightful. Highly recommend it!
Simply the best. Food is amazing as is the service. Our favorite for any occasion.
One of our walk-to favorites. Love the variety and authenticity of the dishes. Quiet, good service, comfortable.
The restaurant seemed obviously unhappy that we made a reservation for one hour before closing time... upon entering, the host asked us if we were "picking up," and seemed less-than-thrilled when we said we were eating in. As they were loudly washing dishes and after the music in the dining room turned off during our meal, I asked the server to confirm that they closed at 10:00 PM (it was about 9:20 at this point), and he said "Yes... but it depends when it's slow." The food quality was good, but the price is very high (Over $70 base price before tip for two people, with no alcoholic beverages) and it may not have been worth the cost.
Cozy restaurant with delicious food and superb service. On the pricier end, but Mayur does not disappoint!
