Maynards Market + Kitchen
Downtown Tucson’s Historic East End is both a destination and a hub for those seeking the heart of urban Tucson.
Across the breezeway from Maynards Kitchen is Maynards Market, a fast-casual cafe concept serving "gourmet market cuisine" for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Beautiful fresh baked pastries, a beer and wine counter, and local hand-scooped ice cream are highlights of the bright and airy eatery. With a large community table, outdoor seating on the spacious plaza, and free WiFi, Maynards Market is the perfect place to explore or relax with a latte, pastry, and your favorite read.
Service was a bit too fast. For a four course prix fixe menu on Valentine’s Day we were done in an hour and a half. I had the wine pairing and twice the wine came when I had almost finished the course.
The food was lovely and ambiance perfect. Timing just a bit off.
A fantastic way to spend Valentines Day evening. Great food with excellent wine pairings. Superb service.
I'd be willing to try Maynard's again, in the main (downstairs) dining room only. The ambiance and experience in the upstairs private dining room (The Drawing Room) was poor at best...
Had a reservation but they had us seated outside. It was way too too cold but they had nothing for us inside until 45 minutes later so we ate at the bar. Loved it and Eddy was amazing.
We love Maynards, always great food, service and atmosphere. My wife really enjoyed the Quail and awesome Cheesecake desert. I really enjoyed the Sea Bass Reasonable prices also. We will be back.
Wonderful atmosphere, the staff were very friendly and on top of everything, the food was amazing!! I highly recommend Maynards Kitchen!
The food, ambiance and service were all excellent. Lovely menu, tasty dishes and cocktails.
Excellent service, great ambiance, and an unusual menu with great choices. Food was very good. However, too much salt used in the sauce for the barramundi. Almost overwhelmed the dish. The other two meals were top notch.
Our waitress and food were good! But the food took forever to come out. We waited for at least 40 minutes for the food. If it hadn’t taken that long my rating would’ve been almost perfect!
We had reservations. People were running long they had to put us in their overflow dining upstairs. The ambience wasn’t great up there. I wish we could have sat in the original restaurant downstairs. The service was exceptional the food was superb! I’d go back but would want to sit in the dining room
My husband and I dine at Maynards at least once a year when we travel from Phoenix to Tucson. We always enjoy the food, ambience, service and value of this resturant and recommend it to our friends!
Waitress was exceptional, I was displeased with the presentation of the quail. It was served over beans and the beans where still a little hard not cooked completely. Ambiance and wine was perfect. The appetizers and the bottles of wine we ordered where great !
Lovely vintage setting--great food and service. We always dine at Maynard's when in Tucson.
Service is top notch! Food very tasty! Drinks and wine, very good. Always a long night. Waited a very long time for our clams so made the dinner a couple of hours but the service is so good we keep coming back.
My meal was great! A delicious concoction with lots of originality and flavor. But my associates’ meal was dry and not anything to write about, unfortunately.
It was of our best dining experiences ever.....especially for Tucson. The Pork Belly and Mussels were fabulous, and my husband had the Steak Tartar and Seafood soup. The decor is elegant but low key, and the service couldn't have been better. Highly recommend and it will be a regular for us when we are in town.
Excellent service, friendly staff, excellent tasting food and presentation.
Excellent seafood, good
House wine. The service was great. My 3rd time in as many years wintering in Tucson. Love Maynard’s.
We had a reservation on a Sunday night. The restaurant was fairly busy due to some shows and people were eating before the show. We had no wait time and got a nice table. Our meals were excellent (Steak Tartare as an appetizer, bouillabaisse and duck as the main dishes). The bottle of French Merlot was wonderful. Service was very attentive and friendly. The restaurant is a little bit pricier, but the quality of food and service justifies the price.
We always enjoy dinner at this restaurant when staying in Tucson.
We had a group of 12 and were in a nice, quiet upstairs room. The service was exceptional and the food
delicious. We had a variety of brunch dishes and everyone was pleased with their selection. Can't wait to go back for the Lobster Benedict!
I always try to make time to stop here when I visit Tucson. It has a great location in the old train station downtown. Service and food are always excellent. Tried the chicken and it was great. The skin was light and crispy, almost like duck. Also had the halibut special and I wish it was a regular menu item.
Terrific food and craft cocktails and much better than average service. Also a classy, inimate atmosphere.
Went for dinner. Had 8:15 reservations, as that was the only time available. Got seated at ~ 8:30. Drinks were excellent, Oyster app was great. The duck came out overcooked and dry. I did not complain tho. I think for the price the portions are way too small, especially when all the sides are an additional charge. Menu is very limited.
Attentive service, delicious food...from start to finish, excellent!
Our waitress tried very hard, but it too forever to get our drinks (bar got slammed with a large group). Would appreciate desserts for gluten-free eaters (gelato/sorbet or something other than flan?
Otherwise, food was great as always!
Meh. The food was adequate, but not special in any way. Great ambience and service.
Food and service were excellent. Server was attentive and provided good information on menu items. It was very busy so the noise level at times made conversation difficult. Server asked if we were attending a concert and ensured everything was timely.
My husband and I went here for our wedding anniversary and it was absolutely wonderful. My husband and I both have celiac, and Maynard’s was more than willing to accommodate our gluten allergies. The bottle service was utter perfection, we ordered the French sparkling rosè. The bouillabaisse was a delight, between the saffron and lobster it had it all. The prices truly did shock us, we never would have anticipated such a modest amount for such decadent cuisine. Even their salads were stellar, and I’ve never had a crème brûlée quite that perfect since our honeymoon in Barbados. Maynard’s has our business, that’s for sure.
The food was way too salty to finish.
Such a disapointment.
Food was outstanding! We had brunch poutine, cast iron pancake, bean toast, beignets, and peach bellinis. All of it was delicious! The service was amazing and the atmosphere was adorable.
The environment was warm and welcoming. The service was amazing, although the noise level could be high for some. The menu was creative and tasted great! Highly recommend.
Went with out of town friends and had a lovely dinner. Service was prompt, pleasant and efficient. My husband and I had the Scottish Salmon Special which was perfectly prepared, delicious and attractively presented. Our friends had the artichoke appetizer special with caviar and a fantastic sauce!! Excellent dinner, creative menu selections, fresh ingredients! We will be back.
The ambiance is cozy and romantic. It's also fun to watch the trains pass by the window. The service was very good and our waiter had been with the restaurant for many years. The entrees were good but not fabulous last night, although the appetizer was excellent. I would definitely return, as it is one of our favorite spots in Tucson. We also enjoyed being downtown, where the atmosphere was lively and cosmopolitan.
The menu selection has shrunk to the point of it being difficult to chose anything. I don't remember the options being so few in the past - I won't be returning for awhile until they expand the menu. The service is always great, and I love the ambience of the place, but food, in restaurants, is important too!
Excellent service! I would recommend highly. Thank you
Special New Year's Eve dinner menu. Ordered the "Atlantic lobster tail" for $32 dollars. Dish came out with 1/4 of the meat from a lobster tail over risotto. Server forgot things, but in fairness to her she had too many tables. We were sat next to the live jazz band and couldn't hear each other. Medium steak was rare. Will not return. Food and service did not match the price.
This is our favourite restaurant when we wish to have a special dining experience.
The food , the service and the ambience are all exceptional.
We do eat here often, but when we do, it is always well worth it.
Over price but pretty good food. Desserts are fare but roasted chicken was great!
Maynards is one of our favorite spots in Tucson. We come back each year multiple times per visit. We're impressed with the menu - but even more impressed with the chef's ability to accommodate allergies and making substitutions for customers with food restrictions. The server took down the list of food restrictions back to the chef. The chef came back with recommendations based on what would taste good and fit in my son's dietary allowances. Wow! We didn't expect this at all, as we initially just requested to simply remove the problematic foods- and keep things plain. This extra service was such a surprise. It's amazing that they did this extra step to make the meal special for everyone - even on a busy Friday night.
We will be back soon!
We got a last minute reservation on a Friday night and were welcomed warmly by the host. Our waiter was very patient explaining menu items. We both enjoyed our meals, stuffed quail and their special hamburger. Really liked the bread and house made butter.
