Im a Filipina and I have been living in the Unites States for 5 years now and this was the first time I had Max's in the U.S. and it was very much like home. Some things that could be better is to serve the soup really hot because it was already cold when I got it and entrees to come out all at the same time instead of one by one especially if its only a small table. I had a reservation at 7pm and they're already out of a couple of entrees that I was really craving so that got me a little disappointed because I drove from Westchester. Other than that i still had a good experience, service was good. Servers were attentive.
My waitress was excellent but the lady at the front desk should have a nice warm comforting welcoming when you walk in. She look like she was busy doing stuff on paper.
Great as always. Would recommend you call ahead on weekdays since the second floor is usually closed on non busy days.
Food is great, parking horrible. It's always a problem so I don't know if management is doing something with this problem.
food was great except for the beef soup which i thought was just too salty. maybe next time lessen the "patis" bec it will always be easy for customers to add the patis if it tastes bland 😉 Our server was excellent too.
As it is a restaurant that serves Filipino delicacies it is my fav back home and here in the east coast. They have good portions for a good price . We had a great waiter that catered to me and my husbands request . We ordered and got our food right away. I just wish they have a branch in Manhattan .
We were a party of nine with five children. We ate there for lunch great food good service. The ambiance could have been better felt a little crowded and tight . But all and all experience was great.... Loved it!
Their chicken and pinakbet are even better than back home. Worth the wait but no need to, thanks to OpenTable.
All of the food was great except for the chicken Which was dry and tough.
The palabok was soggy, and the canton was bit greasy.
We were on the 2nd floor for 7:45pm, April 15; and the chairs on the main section were already on the top of the tables. Were you closing? It wasn't a positive impression.
It was yummy...
Friendly and efficient staff! Fast service. Buko pandan is so yummy.
Not only the crispy fried chicken was delicious so were the sinigang, lumpia, and crispy pata.
We had traveled almost 2 hours to get to a Jersey City. It was the day after Thanksgiving and the restaurant did not expect the crowds that came in for lunch based on their experience in prior years. Even though they did not have enough staff, we were still seated in a reasonable time and served the delicious food. Our appetizers called Appeteasers ( a play on words), Sinigang, and Crispy Pata were dishes we tried before so no surprises there- they were yummy! We tried the sweet Filipino version of spaghetti and it was good as well. Topped it off with Halo Halo for dessert and we were ready to kickoff the Holiday Season.
