Maximillians Grill & Wine Bar
A gift of great food from our kids for Mother’s Dat !
We are from the coast of NC and found it to be a jewel in the sand..the calamari was so delicious..The bar tender was most helpful n attentive to make our experience great..The steaks were on point ..tks for an unforgetsnle dining experience.
We had a very enjoyable meal. The food was excellent and really wow'd us. The chef puts some things together that you might not think about but that are excellent together. Great time and wonderful food. Service was excellent.
Food was excellent with gourmet style. Waitress was very attentive and charming. Favorite eating place.
I thought that our meals were good. The ingredients were very fresh. The cooking is a type of fusion with a lot of spicing which is good but could be a bit lighter - not to overwhelm the quality of the meat, fish or shellfish. I think that it would be good to have some more light options. The wine choice is good.
Price vs. value is good.
Spur of the moment and had a wonderful time. Dinner was excellent.
As good as ever never disappointed in over 20 years
We picked up our son @ Camp LeJeune and came to Cary for the weekend. My parents joined us and we went to Celebrate at Maximilian’s Grill. The appetizers were excellent; best calamari we’ve had in a long time. For entree’s we had; the duck, the filet mignon and the Korean BBQ Beef. All very flavorful and presented in a very unique way. Finished with a fantastic coconut cake. The owner and chef came to our table after dinner to meet our son, who she had already bought dinner for. Excellent and very welcoming service. We had a great time...thanks!!!
We love Maximillians! It's the best spot for friends and business dinners since it's quiet enough to carry on a conversation.
Good menu with lots of selections. Wine list was also good. Our waiter was very patient and friendly. A nice, casual and comfortable restaurant.
Celebrated my birthday there and everything was great. The wait staff were promptly attentive and the food areived to our table in a timely manner, delicious and hot.
Always excellent food and service. They accommodate our 6 yr old with their children’s menu while mom and dad have a date-worthy dinner. One of the top restaurants in Cary and in the area. We are always happy to return.
Everyone enjoyed all the food, and the service was above average. The price did creep up a bit on us, despite only sharing one relatively moderately priced bottle of wine among four people - but generally felt worth it.
We enjoyed the food and the service. Brussels sprouts were awesome
We frequently dine at Maximillians and always enjoy it very much. Excellent food, service and interesting wine list. Cruise has an Asian fair prepared with very fresh local ingredients. The seafood is my favorite.
Service is attentive and knowledgeable but not overbearing.
A top restaurant in the Raleigh area IMO.
Chefs #1 Fan
Wonderful meal. Try the coconut cake. It’s a dream!
Excellent food and service. My favorite restaurant.
We dined at Maximillians to celebrate a family birthday. Our server was relatively new but did a pretty good job:
My wife had the shrimp cakes which were almost all shrimp. I had the Homage to a Pig. The pork shank was fall-off-the-bone tender and absolutely delicious. The accompanying collard greens were the best I’ve ever had. The portions were generous.
The creme brulee is always a good choice. The carrot cake bread pudding special was a bit sweet for my taste and I sort of expected raisins and or nuts. Again, the portions were generous.
the menu is always fantastic, appetizers outstanding (calamari by far best in area) specials are fantastic. we love your restaurant and the chef is by far one of the best in the area.
Every time we walk into Maximilian’s we are both greeted by Margie and Will. They are both so welcoming. Dinner with them is always over the top spot on!
Looking forward to our next meal soon,
We enjoyed a lovely dinner this week celebrating my wife's birthday at Maximillians Grill. The restaurant is beautifully decorated, the food is delicious, and the service is exceptional. We shared a mixed shellfish entre that was incredible as well as a mushroom pie appetizer that was truly unique. We were also impressed with the warm and welcoming atmosphere of the restaurant, from the moment we walked in the door until we left. If you're looking for a really special place to dine, this is it.
Food was abundant but not spectacular. Wine list was just okay , especially for a place that's supposed to be a Wine Bar.
I have dined here for years and this weekend I brought a group of friends who had never been...everyone was blown away! We had several appetizers and salads (you can’t miss the calamari, Brussel sprouts, and famously grilled ceased salad)! Several keto diners were easily accommodated for the Voodoo tuna served over cooked greens (instead of the traditional pasta), the filet melts in your mouth! We finished with several desserts, which were very generous portions and not a crumb was left (one friend loved the coconut cake so much she inquired about purchasing a whole cake for an upcoming birthday-which they do sell with notice!) Service is always excellent, a team of friendly professionals that have a passion for food and an eye for detail.
Thank you for making us all feel so welcome—my friends are still raving about how every single bite was amazing and how we left ‘food intoxicated’—and SO glad that the plans got changed from a generic overpriced chain steak house (*PS-the beverages are all done right too)
Perfect night of eating drinking fresh and local!!
Maximillians was a nice place to spend a special occasion. The food was wonderful, and the staff was pleasant.
Wife and I had a post Valentine's Day dinner at Maximillian's to avoid the V day masses. Good move as we had a very romantic spot to ourselves in the bar area and were expertly served by the bartender. He started us off with some off the menu cocktails that included tequila, St Elderberry, with Thai basil and pepper and a perfect Old Fashion with Woodford's Reserve. Our appetizer was the Brussel Sprouts which were absolutely delicious. Since we both prefer vegan options, my wife and I had the chef prepare a vegan dish with a few of our suggestions. My wife had a Mediterranean/Italian dish with pasta, tomatoes, garlic and roasted winter vegetables and I had a Thai seasoned curry with 5 grains and assorted vegetables. Both dishes had excellent flavor and mixed textures. This was followed by the flourless chocolate cake with the banana bread pudding ice cream. A perfect end to an awesome meal.
Excellent service, food, and cocktails. Felt welcomed from the minute we arrived, and they took great care of us throughout our meal. I had clients with me so this was important and they more than delivered! Noise level not too bad- we were able to hold a conversation at our table of 8.
I would highly recommend this resturant. If you want a go to a small romantic resturant that not crowded and you can talk in a normal voice and the food is excellent. This was my first visit and will not be my last.
Was a wonderful dinner, from service to desert. Our server was great and attentive, and the chef was on point! The best compliment I can give is will be back with friends.
Wait staff was great, informative but not intrusive. Food was delicious, but we waited a long time to get our main meal. I usually don't like bread at the table, but it would have been nice if waitress checked in with us to tell us meal was on it's way and offer some bread or crackers and cheese.
Having said that this is the first time we have had a delay in getting our meal.
Maximilian’s is a hidden gem in Cary! Can’t believe we never knew what a great experience it is.
Food was amazing! Had the calamari appetizer and filet special with roasted carrots w spinach au gratin potatoes. Everything was prepared perfectly and delicious. The old fashioned cocktail was excellent and the dessert — coconut cake — was fresh and incredible.
Our waitress Mary was a pleasure and the supporting staff was on point attending to us without being intrusive.
Definitely going back!
Once again, Maximillians nails it for Valentine’s Day. Fantastic specials, filet cooked to perfection, topped off by great service and a strong wine list. You can’t go wrong here, and it never fails to deliver on big days.
Outstanding, as always! Food is amazing. Wine list is great. Staff is top notch.
Excellent meals - savory and flavorful accents - a delicious dining experience.
Loved talking with the chef/owner team. They were circulating in the restaurant while we there. Wait staff attentive too.
Enjoyable experience as usual. I especially appreciated the wine choices. I would like to vary my selections more but the fish is just too good to pass up.
Fantastic as always.
Love. Love. Love Maximillian's. Margie has dreamed up yet more amazing originals. Can't wait to go back and try the shrimp cakes. We, somehow, overlooked them on the menu, but got just a taste on the way out... We'll be back!
They had a nice wine selection and were very helpful with menu selection. I ordered the Duck which was exceptional. I praise Joan for her excellent service.
Food cuisine is different but good - great place if you are looking for something different and tasty
