The ambiance was great. The food was delicious. Disappointed that our first choice of beverage was it available, nor was the chocolate cake. Overall, we were very satisfied.
We were a group of 5 they were clients that wanted good craft beer and barbecue, food was excellent the service
Was poor , we made the best of the evening with great conversation
The food was mediocre to good, depending on the dish. Brisket was not very tender, flatbread was soggy, shrimp were good. It arrived quickly. The real problem was that we saw our server to take our order and not again until we were almost done eating, so we couldn’t tell her that one of the dishes brought out wasn’t correct. My friend just ended up eating the food she had not ordered. We were there during an off time, when maybe 1/4 of the restaurant was full, so it was not a matter of being busy. It was just poor service.
The food was lukewarm. French fries were terrible. The place was mostly empty (reservation was for 4:45), but we were seated in the front corner booth. We were not offered refills of water or tea. We weren’t asked if we wanted another drink or dessert.
Very disappointed. This was the second visit here ( we were in town for the gift show) , probably won’t come back
Server was polite and attentive. Food was flavorful and outstanding. If I had only one issue with the restaurant, its that the openness of the dining area combined with the electrifying energy buzzing in the dining room made for a very loud establishment and for it to be very hard to hear even the people sitting next to you. But overall, still did not take away from it being a great experience.
We dine here every year during the International Home and Gift Market and we are never disappointed. The food is always divine, the service is always excellent and the experience is fun. Always on our list of places to dine when in town!
We were seated very quickly with our reservation. We ordered beer and dinner at the same time. They came out at the same time which was super fast! Probably would have had two beers if we had the chance. That was my only complaint that we felt a little rushed.
Service was a lot better and the food was cooked as requested.
Waitress was efficient and worked around our dietary needs.
It must have been an off day
Delicious steaks! My team really enjoyed their food.
Second Best ribeye I ever had. Great drinks. Great desserts. Fantastic place to grab a beer and a steak!
We loved it so much!! The ribeye was amazing!
I have never had an experience here like the one I had Sunday. I brought my sister here for her first time and it was not the best. Now don’t get me wrong, Hailey our server was great, and so was my sister’s cocktail! But sadly, that was it. I ordered the wings and even though they were good flavor wise, I did have to send them back because they were cold. My sister ordered the pork chop and her sides came out lukewarm. My fries however were great!
But the biggest disappointment was really the host for the evening. There was no welcoming from him, he was slouched on the podium, and a nonchalant attitude. He could have been having an off personal day, but no need for it to reflect to the guests.
I don’t say all this to tear anyone down, but when I recall my first time coming here meeting one of the owners and the chef, I have raved about this place ever since. Which was a year ago. I travel a lot and look forward when I get to stop in town and come in.
Thank you for taking the time to read this. I will try again in a few months on a different day to see if the tune has changed.
Amazing food and service! Try the brisket sandwich
We had smoked wings, fried shrimp and burgers. All delicious!
It was a crowded night and the restaurant seemed overwhelmed. The kitchen production was very slow as lots of tables seemed agitated with their waitstaff. My wife enjoyed her burger but my pork chops were were very dry and as tough as shoe leather. Overall, a disappointing experience particularly given the price.
Party of 4, everyone ordered something different and we all loved our meals. Tried the fried cheesecake, it was delicious.
Came for my birthday. Our server was visibly irritated from the beginning. Never checked on us or refilled our beverages. Our salads were brown. Ribs over cooked and dry. Fish was greasy. Fries cold. My meal was good. Would’ve been better if mashed potatoes Were hot... my friends pork chops were good. First and last time at this restaurant....
Everyone’s French fries were soggy. The mashed potatoes were cold in the middle and the second scoop they brought was lukewarm. My daughters pizza was burnt on the bottom. It was not a good experience!
Thank you Scott our server and the Chef who came out to say hello, the collard greens were amazing! You guys rock and we’d loved our night! It was great to finally eat food that reminded us of home (Australia)!
Went after SEC championship game, place was crowded but in a fun way. We sat, git great service, had 3 rounds of drinks and dinner. Our server was awesome!!! Can’t recall name, but she was upstairs. Watched other games on tvs over bar. We had a great time!!
After LSU win the SEC!!
Great, great Smokey and BBQ flavors - mixed just right!
Our waitress was super friendly and knowledgeable about the menu and beers. She made our dining experience that much more enjoyable!
For a brewery, the food was quite good. One person in my party had to return an overcooked steak, but the second one was perfect. Our waiter was super, which made the evening even more enjoyable.
Very good food. Nice knowledgeable staff. A bit pricey, but we will be back.
We came for lunch, and Brittany was our server. She took excellent care of us from start to finish. Thank you to Brittany and to the entire Max Lager staff for always making us feel welcome!
Made a reservation on Open Table which was confirmed. We Ubered over to find out they were closed for the evening. Disappointing. Nice for out-of-towners with no transportation if you can update closings on service sites!
Place is nice, cool vibe! Beer was great! We had the spin/art dip and it was bad...dip was cold and seemed like the TGIF dip you can buy at the grocery store...except if I was making it at home it’d at least be hot. My steak was awesome though!! Cowboy ribeye was cooked perfectly and seasoned deliciously!! And finally, root beer float was bad as well. I’d go back for sure, but I’d skip dessert and app...
Terrible service. We waited 20 minutes before finally flagging someone down to take our drink order. When our waiter finally did come over, there was no apology. We were going to suck it up and deal with it, but then the bugs showed up. Little tiny flies all over our booth. We were not sitting outside (in fact we were in the back of the restaurant) and it's not the summer. A bad sign that there's bugs. We paid for our drinks and got the heck out.
Our server Jordan was amazing. From drinks to dessert, everything was perfect!
Nice interior for casual dining, had reservations for 7 on a Friday night which they had run out of dough so no flatbread or pizzas. By the time we were leaving they began serving pizza and flatbread so it just seemed odd, especially for a Friday night. They also have no means of keeping wine chilled. They also were out of a selection on their beer list. Just sort of felt like they really didn’t care.
Food was delicious but service was only fair despite our visit on a slow weekday late afternoon. We ordered an appetizer that never arrived, and waited over 15 minutes for a single dessert. It was not busy at the time, so this gap in service was not easily explained. But a beer was delicious!!
The restaurant was absolutely packed when we arrived (large convention in town) but we had reservations and our table was ready when it was supposed to be. Dining room is a little crowded, it's difficult for waitstaff to maneuver between tables. Service was prompt, friendly, helpful. My salad was delicious but the fries were only lukewarm. I had a house lager which was excellent! The prices were very reasonable. I would definitely go back for a night out with friends or colleagues.
Meeting friends from out of town
My husband, daughter and I had dinner here and the wait staff were friendly but it took a while to get some things (lemons, sweater, etc). Food was ok- didn’t blow me away but not bad. Husband and I are keto so limited choices (knew that going in- not holding against restaurant). Wings were really good!!!! Didn’t try the beer but have been told they are very good. Location was very nice- seating was fast and comfortable. Would go back
They did not confirm we were there to Open Table. Food was decent but we fought off tiny flies at our INDOOR table throughout the dinner.
We were recommended to visit here on our trip to Atlanta and it was well worth the visit. Great brewery and the food was top notch - great service too!
