Max Dale's Steak & Chop House
Despite having been in business for well over half a century, Max Dale's Steak & Chop House continues to be family owned and operated. Although best known for steaks, the restaurant offers a diverse menu with both traditional and newly created dishes such as coconut cod, breaded prawns and an apple, kale and chicken salad.
Along with fine dining, Max Dale's Steak & Chop House offers a nightclub experience in its lounge area. Here patrons can enjoy an array of fun events such as comedy hour and sporting event parties. Happy hour is daily from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Max Dale's Steak & Chop House.
Calamari, wedge salad, and prime rib were excellent. Kid's menu top sirloin was tasty and tender.
One of the worst steaks we have had in years. Way overpriced, the asparagus appeared to have being boiled, and the salmon was very dry. The only think that was decent was the salad. The drink way weak. Not going back for sure
Not the greatest food and it was very overpriced for the quality.
First time visit. Nicely quiet. Good food and service. Pricey.
I’ve been to several Steak restaurants in the United States, and Max Dale’s Steak & Chop was excellent! The prices were very reasonable, and the staff was very friendly.
Great filet mignon and wedge salad. Good service and beverage
Great food, excellent service. When we arrived, earlier than our reservations, we sat and waited for a table for a very short time. We were seated and the service was fantastic. The food was fabulous and the atmosphere was wonderful. We would definitely recommend.
Quiet and comfortable ambiance. Excellent wait staff. Wonderfully prepared food. Our first visit was for a Valentine dinner for my hubby and I. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and will definitely be back. This will be a great place to bring good friends and family for a very nice dinner.
We made reservations for Valentine's Day dinner on the 13th, and were able to get a table. We were seated promptly when we arrived and enjoyed a table in a quiet area of the restaurant. Our waitress was very attentive and pleasant. When my wife had a question about wines, she was offered tastes of two she had questions about, before she made her decision. The dinners were served in a timely manner and the presentation was appealing. The portions were not overwhelming, and the food tasted great. We would definitely go again, and would recommend Max Dale's to neighbors and friends.
The boneless rib eye, baked potatoes & bread were delicious!!
The service was a little harried so maybe they were shorthanded but we'll try it again!
Always good and reminiscent of days in Anchorage Alaska at Stewart Anderson’s Cattle Company.
Dinner service is painfully slow. We were seated at 6:30pm and didn't get our food until 8:20. While we were waiting, I was brought a warm, flat beer. Replaced with another warm, flat beer.
The food was great.. but don't come hungry.
We ran into friends seated nearby, and they had the same issues.
Being sat, the hostess walked so fast that only one person in our group could keep up. Then we were sat at what was obviously a 4 top table but set for 6. Soup was great, My old Fashioned had granulated sugar which made for a gritty taste when sipping. My Oscar style steak had the SWEETEST hollandasie sauce. It tasted like sugar was added. And my Oscar style was missing the asparagus. I am not the type to complain to a manager, I just do not go back.
Awesome prime rib, great brocolini and baked potato, & terrific wedge salad with wonderful blue cheese dressing. They also serve a perfect Shirley Temple.
We love to go to Max dales.
They do Everything correctly.
Great overall. Will definitely go back. We had 8 people and all went well. Everyone enjoyed our time their and the food etc.
Menu items should be updated on what it includes. For example, Filet includes mushrooms & asparagus as well. However, one should inform guests on menu there is a $3.00 up charge for Wedge or Caesar Salad.
Wine selection is mediocre; as there are so many excellent wineries in WA!
Original server was switched out at 7pm to the closer server; we arrived at 615pm. The closer server was scrambling around as she had numerous tables around the restaurant. Not good customer service. The place close is at 9pm. It made us feel that our company wasn’t warranted- and part of reason for the score.
Three meals were quite good. Unfortunately my husband’s steak not so good, full of fat, luckily he had soup and lots of bread. We always enjoy Max Dales especially out with friends, quiet so we can visit.
If you want a 5 star restaurant in Skagit County, Max Dales is the place to go. The food was amazing, Full bar, excellent wine list, friendly staff and great service.
Great service; great food; definitely worth it.
We had a wonderful experience. Great wait staff and the food was excellent!!
Great service great food.
This was the 1st time dining at Max Dale's restaurant.
I took my 4 young adult kids and we all loved our food (Prime Rib, NY Steak, & 3 orders of Scallops).
Salad was fresh & entree's were delicious.
We also had 3 great desserts.
Service was excellent!
Food was some of the worst restaurant food I have ever had. Calamari was totally tasteless. Broccoli was overcooked to mush. fried oysters hard and over cooked. Green salad limp. The prime rib was ok and my son said his hamburger was good. Service was excellent. The prices were outrageous.
It was great food and service. A good house merlot. We went there for our anniversary with friends and had a great time.
We had a group of 8. Service started slow but picked up once someone told the staff we were in a secluded area in the back of the restaurant. Drinks then food came out timely. Appetizers and entrees were both good, but not great. Presentation of entrees with sauces was very sloppy. One of our group had a steak with a lot of gristle. Desserts were good, but, again, sloppy presentation. All said we would still go back.
Intimate. Wonderful food. ............ccccccccccccc.
We have hosted birthday dinners here for family members over at least 18 years. Service & food are usually good to very good. This time the prime rib was not good at all...very chewy...not tender. Tho the service was good, the meat was a significant enough issue to make us think twice before hosting the next dinner at this restaurant. Hopefully it was just a one time problem.
Arrived at the reservation time and still had to wait, very slow in getting meal, ordered and had to wait 50 minutes until the food arrived.
been here many times over the years, and this time I was unimpressed by the service level. Drinks didn't arrive, not much follow up on our food, water, even bread. My sister suggested that we should have went to outback, but I didn't want to take her to a chain restaurant. Maybe I should have.
This place never fails to please. Top quality ingredients, cooked to perfection and served by efficient, unobtrusive servers. Prices are on the high side, but worth it in my opinion. This is our go-to place for celebrations like birthdays and anniversaries since we moved into the Skagit Valley. We will return.
Customer service was awesome. Our dinner was excellent with a fantastic dessert. Very quiet and private. ❤
Great dining experience, we were visiting and found this restaurant online. You honestly never know what to expect, but the food, service and ambiance was superb.
Max Dale's has been one of my favorites for many years. However, the new menu is very expensive, and they would make no accommodations for smaller appetites. There is no petite steak ,no senior menu, and few healthy options for someone on a special diet. The quality of the food was excellent, but the price outweighs it because you have to pay for twice as much food as you need.
A great place to go. Quiet atmosphere, really good food, perfect service. I've been there before and it was the same then. I only wish it wasn't so far away from where we live,, but then it wouldn't be the birthday treat that it is.
Thank you for another enjoyable dining experience.
Max Dale's is my favorite restaurant and we dine out EVERY night. It is our "go to" place for celebrations. We just celebrated our 50th anniversary, and our server, Maddie made our experience by special. She took several pictures for us and her service was excellent. My husband is a prime rib fan and prefers Max Dale's to all prime rib served in our area, Whatcom County. Their halibut recipe is superb! A complimentary dessert of ice cream and Northwest berries made the perfect ending to our meal.
we enjoy prime rib, and max dales has the best of anyone
I really like Max Dale’s. I don’t downgrade my stars because it is outdated, because the booths are still comfortable and roomy, and private, which keeps the noise level low. The service is very good. They have very good cuts of meat, which were done just to our liking. Salads are generous and very fresh. I really enjoyed my filet with garlic mashed potatoes and green beans. Others at our table for 4 also were very happy with their experience.
