The portions are large and the kids were happy with their meals. The server asked about any diet restrictions and gave a thorough overview of what would meet those accommodations. Service was quick; we were there less than an hour. And considering how expensive it is to park nearby, quick service was a real plus.
My daughter wanted to go for her birthday and everything was wonderful. I would go back again and try new items on the menu
Waitress forgot items that we ordered and was unapologetic. The table table did not have the proper utensils and we had to get out our seats to try to find some. Service was extremely poor. I do not recommend this restaurant. I got the feeling that they were not interested in our business.
I really wish I could remember my servers name.Be was a young man with dark hair in his early 20's.He interacted with my 8 yr old daughter and even made her smile. He was attentive but not annoying. He was full of menu suggestions and alot of other info.Like suggestion a Dentist for me.The desserts and drinks were amazing and of course he suggested what drink I should try.I hope I can remember his name because I would definitely request him next time!
have been there multiple times and it never disappoints!! great food, great service, great spot!!
Just went for dessert around 8pm. Seemed “kiddy” and very loud. Ordered the pizza (very doughy) and the churros.
Went for breakfast/lunch. Interesting menu which contained biscuits. The concept sounded great, but the biscuits were fairly dried out, leading me to believe these were not freshly made, which was disappointing.
I think the overall idea is much better than its final product.
Food and service were good. Many items use chocolate but there are also many that don’t if you don’t care for it.
Our daughter wanted to try the restaurant with some of her friends - totally appropriate for kids/teens/adults who love desserts. Dinner listing was familiar and well executed. Our waitress was friendly and accommodating.
Great crowd, excellent food and kid friendly. Our waiter was very attentive to us but kept reminding us to take our time so there was no feeling of being rushed, even with three little kids. I highly recommend Max Brenner and there is no way you can leave without having dessert! I want to go back just to try more sweets, there are so many good looking options on the menu it was VERY hard to choose.
Great salads but a little too pricey even with the quality.
The best fries in the city, and the chili aoili sauce is out of this world!
And of course, chocolate...what else need be said?!
Waited 45mins for a burger at 330pm. My daughter got her food first and was done by the time the rest of the food came out. Food came without utensils and had to wait every time needed a drink or refill,l or napkins at least 15-20mins. You shouldnt have to beg a server to do her job! Shocked that a restaurant of this status would allow things like this to go on.. Server didn't seem to care when I complained about the service and the restaurant was not crowed to have to wait so long for everything we asked for. The server was horribale and ruined the experience of the restaurant for my family and I. We didn't even make it to dessert after being here for 45 mins waiting for food we decided we didn't want to wait any longer for dessert. Will not be going back..
It was our first time visiting Max Brenners for Brunch!! Great atmosphere, fun food and drink options - especially if your a chocolate lover!! Our server, Gabby, was awesome - very personable and knowledgeable about selections and suggestions on the menu. Thanks for a great dining experience - we will definitely be back.
Great food and awesome desserts!!
The salmon was amazing and the chocolate fondue is to die for! The waiter was very helpful and friendly!
Way overpriced for the quality and quantity of food and ambiance. Will not return.
Waffles were amazing. Huge for the price. Chocolate cocktails were great as well. I had a white chocolate Russian and it was strong and tasty
Kid-friendly is the most accurate description for this restaurant. Non-dessert food was ok. For dessert we ordered 1/2 of the s'mores pizza (looked nothing like the picture in the menu - basically a base of angel food cake with chocolate sauce, marshmallows and peanut butter sauce) and the skillet cookie (tough to cut into and the ice cream topping was half melted by the time it arrived to the table). Kids liked it all.
We had a great time! Fun atmosphere. Something for everyone on the menu. Had three teens with us and everyone thought their meals were delicious.
Good, attentive service. The fondue was super fun for the whole family to enjoy. My daughter loved roasting her marshmallows at the table.
It was my birthday and me and my friends had a great time the food was Amazing
Great dinner with friends. The smell of chocolate permeates the air and is delightful! We will definitely go back to try other dishes and especially desserts!!
Been wanting to try Max Brenner's for a while and finally took my wife and son there after a show. Food was average and nothing to complain about. Personally think it was over-hyped and I've had comparable food and chocolate for less. It was worth the trip since we were in the area. Service and waitstaff was very friendly and service was prompt .
Our food was decent. The italian thick hot chocolate was yummy but the restaurant did not match our expectations based on their website. The website came across as more upscale so we were surprised it was not at all like that. It was so noisy we could barely hear each other.
The parking situation (as Im sure anyone familiar with Philly knows) is a nightmare. Even moreso if you have a large truck or suv. Skip the parking lot next door. They overcharge for large vehicles and instead of the extra $6 on the ticket added an extra $20.
Our service was a little slow. Our glasses sat empty for a while. We had both desserts and a cheesesteak. The flavor of all was good but the desserts seem over-priced for what you get. Our fondue barely had any dippers which made it pretty wasteful. We had six people at our table and our server knew we were sharing family style. She didnt even offer extra items to add which we would have happily added on at an additional cost so everyone could enjoy. More than half of the chocolates and toffee were left The banana hazelenut crepe was yummy so Id recommend that as well as the milkshake over the fondue. My husband said the cheesesteak had great flavor. Its severed on a waffle which he said was also good.
Overall, we were disappointed with the experience so likely would not return.
So many desserts, so hard to choose! The kids loved roasting marshmallows at the table. Dinner food was yummy, too.
The atmosphere and food were disappointing. The dessert was good though. Lots of choices. Our waitress was lovely and made up for the other.
a Love the Chocolate martini and mac & cheese!
We love taking our kids here for a special family dinner out in the city. We all love it, fun for everyone!
Went 5 of us everyones milkshakes and food was delicious! Server steve was great!
Awesome !! The service was great , great dessert !!! It’s Max Brenner I didn’t expect any less
Not very good for a date night. Ok for family as long as wait and limited menu options are ok. Bar selection was sub par. Wait service was friendly and reasonably fast. One toilet for the entire restaurant was not enough. Chocolate deserts looked good but decided to have a drink somewhere else before a show at the Kimmel Center.
We went for a bday celebration and the food and service were great. Tables are very close together and we kept bumping other patrons. Overall good food, parking nearby is easy to find but EXPENSIVE...
Max Brenner's was the highlight of our trip to Philadelphia. We LOVE this restaurant AND the people who took care of us. You never disappoint!
I took my wife and teenage daughter while visiting Philadelphia, Food was just average and the the deserts were overpriced. I gave it a higher rating because we did have fun and and my daughter really enjoyed the experience.
The main course food and appetizers were very good. The chocolate fondue was a bit disappointing considering it was a chocolate house. Although we all enjoyed the fondue, I’ve had far superior chocolate many times over. It just was average American chocolate fondue (overly sweet). Our particular server was terrible (did not attend to us, dropped silverware, tried to put used silverware on table etc), the other servers did seem to be more with it and helped pick up our servers slack.
Overall everything was amazing and super delicious , would come here again with friends or even after a doctors appointment
I enjoyed the meal at Max Brenner’s. The portions were of a hearty size and the drinks were prepared well. However, it was a big turn off for the restaurant to have only two bathrooms and both be unisex. The bathrooms were in disarray but this could’ve been due to the holiday crowd. All in all, I’d like to come back to try different items off of their menu. I believe it’s a great place for a date or get together. I don’t know about a celebration as the dining area seems rather “cozy.” I also believe it is a great place for just dinner or just dessert.
Been twice & love the food. As b4 waitstaff was exceptional. Wait time for food was a tad long, but it was v crowded
A few ordered food and some just ordered dessert in our group. One thing was missing and some came out incorrect (one completely wrong item, and three of us ordered the same thing, one without bananas and they misidentified the banana free dessert). Waitress came twice immediately for our order but once we had enough time we had to flag her down to place the order. They were busy, but not that busy for the number of servers. Overall I would go back, it was delicious and its not the worst service I've had.
