Max Brenner - Philadelphia Ratings and Reviews
I will definitely be returning!! Ummmm... the milkshakes are AWESOME, and taste so smooth! First timer and our waitress was very helpful and patient with us. I ordered the Cheesesteak waffle was delicious, so much flavor and the five cheese makes it all better. My son’s loved the waffle fries, and the chocolate milk. LOVE the atmosphere (tables are too close in my opinion) and o like all the cool chocolate features .
Good food, friendly staff although a little forgetful. Overall slow service was the biggest opportunity, we arrived early and were seated promptly while the restaurant was almost empty, we were there for over 2 hours and ordered off of the Restaurant Week menu which normally I would think ordering off of a scaled down menu would speed up the service. However I would try this restaurant again based off the menu and food.
We came for lunch during restaurant week with some who had been there before and others who hadn't. We, however, didn't just stick with that menu. Everyone enjoyed their meals and LOVED their drinks. The only issue was the speed and memory of our waiter who had to be asked for things several times. Overall a good experience and we will be back again.
Wow, what a great lunch! My fiancee and I went for Restaurant Week lunch and couldn't be happier. We got the dippers, quesadilla, mac and cheese, burger, 2 crepes, and Italian hot chocolate. We went to Paris recently and loved the hot chocholate there, and it tasted similar!
Food was awesome! The server was attentive and friendly! The place was packed and considering this we didn't wait long for food. It did take 2 hours to eat a 4 course meal but we weren't upset die to the volume at the tine. My husband and insee bigger people so we really didn't care for the really close together seating. We sat in the middle section where you can sit next to strangers. I think thier seating should be reconsidered.
My sister and I were in Philly (Rittenhouse Square area) with our teenage daughters for an overnight trip. Max Brenner's was perfect for lunch on a chilly day. The Hot Chocolate was perfect after a cold weather stroll. The food choices were numerous and our meals were delicious (salads, breakfast crepes, breakfast burritos to mac and cheese). Dessert was spectacular--there are so many wonderful choices.
I did not have high expectations since the restaurant had been around for a while. The decor was a bit dated and worn out. We got the Max Brenner burger and was cooked to order and very good. The waffle fries were good. A little disappointed with the dessert since this is really their specialty. We shared the banana hazelnut crepe. Our waiter suggested adding strawberries and we did. The crepes were slightly undercooked. Service was extremely slow. I did not mind because we had allowed ourselves plenty of time but didn’t want to waste our day sitting around. Overall...ok.
I brought my 8 year old granddaughter for lunch before seeing Annie at the Walnut Street Theater. It was record breaking cold weather and I asked the waitress to bring salted caramel cocoa as soon as we sat down. She brought the hot cocoa and then took our order. She came back several times to check-in. It was a wonderful experience and I would definitely return.
The hot chocolate is the best I have ever had in the United States. We had the Mexican spice hot chocolate and the chocolate and cream both very good an unique. Great for cold weather. We had salmon fir lunch well prepared good portion. I had waffle cheese steak sandwich which is again unique tasting. I recommend for a fun cold afternoon.
