Max Brenner - Philadelphia
A worldwide phenomenon, Max Brenner, Chocolate by the Bald Man, has spread its unique culture with it's iconic dessert and decadent savory menu in United States with locations in New York City, Philadelphia, and Boston.
Absolutely wonderful experience every time I go. I've never had any entrees, it's always been for dessert and they are absolutely decadent. Never disappointed.
Fondue chocolate fun!
It was a very nice meal. The server was kind.
You better like chocolate! Fun place to go for dessert and avoid if you are in a diet
Deserts are very good but dinner was below average. Restaurant was not full yet they were out of ice for any drinks.
wait staff was hurried. given the cost the portions were small
It was a fun loud atmosphere. Super small place. Small tables so not much room. My salmon was terrific. Just terrific. We also loved the smores for dessert.
Our son picked Max Brenner’s to celebrate his 16th birthday. Our waiter, Tim, was excellent! The food and desserts were very good.
The only complaint is when the door to the restaurant opened - a very cold breeze came in and chilled us every time.
Great food and service! Worth a trip. Reservation needed on weekends!
Birthday dessert for my girlfriend’s mother.
Once again, we took our daughter there for her birthday and it never gets old. Very enjoyable!
Delicious food, as always. And wonderful staff - one of the lovely front desk ladies entertained my little son while I dashed to the bathroom. How kind :). Our server was also lovely. We'll definitely be back!
Great food and service. Not just for chocolate and dessert. A very unique place.
I have always loved Max Brenner. This time my husband and I decided to sit at the bar where we enjoyed out experience but I learned some unfortunately information. I learned that they do not wash the strawberries before dipping them in the chocolate sauce. I saw them open a container of strawberries and not wash them before dipping them and using them as a garnish. I won't likely order anything with fruit on their menu. Loved our hot chocolates though!
First time here. Server could not have been better. It’s a right restaurant so if you are in the larger side be prepared to get the back of your chair hit often. Food was not bad. No problem with that. I would say prices are high. But again it’s philly and it packed with rich young ladies and their kids. I believe it was primarily female restaurant goers. I will say 80’s milkshake was amazing and the waffle fries with honey mustard were great
The meal arrived before the beverages so that wasn't good. Luckily they gave us water when we 1st arrived.
The entrees we we ordered were OK at best.
The dessert was WONDERFUL.
This was our 2nd time going there. I think this place is great for dessert, but that's it. I won't return for a meal again.
it was very fun
We went to celebrate my 5year old granddaughters birthday. Everything was great until they brought out a piece of chocolate candy with a candle. I know there are sparklers. Why no sparkler and song???? There are a ton of kids that go there so I’m wondering why no celebration. Otherwise a great night
If you loce chocolate, you'll love Max Brenner! Willy Wonka does exist!!
Wonderful. Celebrated there with my granddaughter for our BDay. Staff was very kind, and recognized our special day. Servers were attentive to our needs. Our fondue was super yummy. Definitely will go there again, and not just for my birthday.
It was my family of five first time going. There food was really good with us all having something different to eat. We are going back very soon. Enjoy
Small inside but very nice. Only two bathrooms so may be await there. The cheeseburger was wonderful . A lot of choices to pick from. Over all prices weren’t bad . Perfect location for 2 or a birthday party of 5.
Took my mother and 2 daughters to see a show at The merriam
Max Brenner never seemed to disappoint! Always a delicious and fun experience. Highly recommend
We enjoyed our dinner at Max Brenner's... but honestly it's all about the dessert here! First of all we were running late, and they were very good about holding our reserved table. Noise level was quite loud, but it was a packed house.... Food was good, but the dessert was delicious! I always go light on my meal, so I can enjoy a dessert. We will likely return in the future... fun place, especially if you enjoy chocolate :o)
I made a mistake and booked 2 people instead of 5, on a packed Saturday night. After explaining that it was my step-daughters birthday dinner, the manager, Ben, was kind enough to accommodate us, despite the huge crowd. The staff there is so nice, we had a great time, and as always the food was phenomenal! Must try the chocolate martini while you're there as well!
Three members of our party experienced gastric distress hours after leaving the restaurant. The common component was the vanilla ice cream.
The food and service were great as always. The tables are way too small and crowded.
Lunch for two adults and three kids - ages 12, 9 and nearly 4, who had been cooped up in a car for two hours might seem problematic. Not for the Chocolate Man's staff! Excellent service, delicious food and an understanding servers who understand that kids have to be kids sometimes. Sorry, but there are not enough characters to wax poetic about the chocolate fondue. We can't wait to reprise our visit. Bravo!
Went before a show. Food was good, but the service was slow from the kitchen. Our waitress was attentive and sweet. My kids enjoyed everything.
Perfect for dessert but, the savory menu not so much. Had better food for way better price but, it’s a good place to go for the chocolate aspect of it! The staff was very delightful and the environment as well. I had the Cheese sampler (highly recommend) and the Mac and Cheese which was average. The environment is very casual-elegant. You can show in a cute dress or some sweatpants. You won’t feel out of place.
I was in Philadelphia for training and it was my birthday! We had a great tome and wonderful food at this restaurant!
The waitress was very nice and was okay with waiting for the last person in our group to arrive. The food was delicious!
We had a great celebration at Max Brenner for a birthday. The server, Casey, was incredibly kind and helpful. They left a wish chocolate for the birthday and everything was delicious
This was my second time and will be my last... the food is below average and the small round tables are so uncomfortable.. not to mention parking was 31 bucks for a little over an hour.... big mistake.
We went here on a mother son date, my son is 6. We had such a nice time and my son loved the interactive kids meal! Our fav date family night spot! Reservations always a good idea!
We didn't have dessert, which is what is their specialty. The food was fair. We had breakfast food which was average, and very light on the breakfast potatoes. It was very noisy.
This was a great alternative to going directly home after the theater.
So much fun. Really loved the entire experience. We had a large meal for two people and spent $110 with tip.
We celebrated my daughter's birthday at Max Brenner's.
Dinner was surprisingly good. Dessert was very chocolate and delicious. Our waitress, Brittany was awesome. She asked about allergies before we ordered.
It seems like they need a bigger space. It was a little crowded.
Overall it was a great experience and we will definitely go back again.
