Our server was very kind and attentive. It was for My friends birthday, his serving was perfect.
Worst slowest service ever. Don’t go
Fun place - food was good - service was good ! Waited only 5 min from reservation time for a table.
Waited 20 minutes even with a reservation, service was very slow, food was fine but not great. The dessert was good which I guess is what you come here for?
Our servers were awesome. I went with just me and my 3 little kids and they were super kind to the kids, made recommendations as per my request and we were not rushed at all. It was fabulous. We will be back!!
A chocolate martini I'm still dreaming of days later...definitely will return! Tip: Order an app and a drink first, you may just decide to skip the meal. The Cheese before Chocolate plate, coupled with a martini and hot chocolate (Italian thick!!), were so filling, that even though 2 of us shared, we didn't even finish half of the yummy mac and cheese. We took it home, and moved on to the chocolate fondue...Also, grab some chocolate on your way out, or you'll regret it!
I finally decided to try Max Brenners since I’ve never gone before and have always seen pictures and reviews. We had reservations and we were seated immediately, even when we came in a bit earlier than the reservation time. It did appear that some other people were waiting to be seated, so I certainly recommend making reservations, but if you don’t it won’t be too bad.
The seating we were placed in was a bit tight, and we were directly under the speakers which made the already loud restaurant seem just a bit louder. The lighting is dim and the restaurant itself is aesthetically pleasing, but you’re going to have to speak really loudly in order to hear each other.
I don’t think this is a place you’ll want to go for dinner or a meal, as the dinner menu is limiting (haven’t seen the brunch menu!) and the food wasn’t all that amazing (not terrible, just wouldn’t order it again). The options for dessert are really endless, and they all seem very tasty. Definitely go in with an open stomach as the dessert can be heavy! It’s pretty cool if you purchase any of the fondue options because it’s a mini DIY station which creates excitement and fun no matter how old you are. I think prices are pretty fair, but expect to pay more than an average meal out if you’re going for both dessert and dinner.
The service was amazing, everyone was super kind, and we barely waited for the food to come even though the place was packed.
Very nice place to bring family or friends or coworkers to enjoy desserts. Place felt warm and ambiance was comfortable. Would recommend to everyone who loves chocolate.
The service was terrible. Long wait. They brought out the food with no utensils. I had to get up and get some myself. Also, I had to constantly ask for my drink.
The food came on time it wasn’t so loud and the server was amazing.
Great for the chocolate items and desserts. Regular food is average. Go for a sugar festival!!
I was celebrating my 24th birthday with my mother. We had previously seen Birds of Prey in theaters on the other side of the street before coming to the restaurant.
We had dinner here. Two of us got burgers, one got chicken. It was decent food! And we got a chocolate chip cookie and a smore's option for dessert. We were happy with the sweet treat options. There's no beer on tap, only bottles. The ambiance was nice, it felt a bit "touristy" if that makes sense. But I'd definitely go back for more chocolate!
Great food, great service. Will go back again.
I took my daughter here as a mid-winter school break treat after running some errands in the area. There's no denying they know their chocolate here! From the hot chocolate, to the S'mores sundae we split, everything was delicious.
The restaurant itself left a bit to desire in terms of cleanliness. The first table the hostess attempted to seat us at was dirty. When I pointed it out she denied it and claimed it had been wiped down until I showed her the actual dirty spots, and we were subsequently seated at the adjoining table. (The dirty table was not cleaned until the next party was seated there and pointed it out to the waitstaff.) The bathroom was a mess, and the paper towel dispensers empty.
A for food, C- for general cleanliness.
Took forever for drinks, which were all canned and served that way (if you’re gonna serve a can of beer why does it take 45 minutes?). Food was okay. Milkshakes were not great. The fondue was delicious.
Love the food always come here & our server nick was awesome ! Deff make a reservation, it’s always busy .
My friend and I had a 2:00 PM lunch reservation and we had a lovely time. I ordered the Lemon Chicken with a glass of Pinot Grigio. My friend ordered the bit l Cheeseburger and enjoyed that and the waffles fries. I wasn't sure what to expect from the food as they're known for their chocolate but it was great! I ordered the White Chocolate Green tea as we finished up or food and chat for a bit. It was delicious but terribly sweet!! Tgere had to be an entire melted chocolate bar in there! I couldn't finish it. Definitely was on a sugar high for a while and then crashed!! Overall it was nice, maybe because it was lunch time but it was really loud. We were kingda screaming at each other across the table.
Dessert was great highly recommended, the food Menu not so much , we ordered pizza and a salad which was not very flavorful and their was 3 small pieces of chicken in the salad. The dessert fondue on the other hand was awesome, would go there for dessert and a drink. Very very loud and super long wait if you don’t have reservations.
Food and staff were great! I would highly recommend this spot!
The quality of food needs to improve. Not very good healthy lunch option. Noisy
I am not sure what’s the point or making a reservation in this place. When you still have to wait 30 mins or more to get seated. This is unacceptable especially if you are with small kids who are hungry. Then you have to be constantly calling the waiter to get his attention. That doesn’t seem to work it doesn’t matter how many times you wave your hand. I had to actually call another waiter who was not my waiter to inform my waiter to please come to my table. Unfortunately, that didn’t work either. This is the 2nd horrible experience I had and will be my last.
This was a nice place to eat. Good atmosphere and setting. The place does get quite smokey due to all they open flame fondue stations being served out. Service was a bit slower, but it was the weekend for brunch so to be expected.
We reserved a table after seeing reviews that would be a good idea. We arrived about ten minutes after our reservation due to traffic. They still took us in shortly after we arrived. Service was quick for ordering as well as getting our food. One of the children did not get their food at the same time as the other three in our party. There was no issue, we figured someone was bringing it out. about three minutes after we got our food, they realized one of the dinners didn’t come out. They apologized several times and we told them it was no big deal. They were very customer oriented and we had a wonderful experience. The food was amazing. I got the B.A.L.T and I think it was the best I’ve had. It was a bit small (serving size appropriate - but so good, wanted more). The dip with the waffle fries was fantastic. Children enjoyed their food as well! Absolutely no complaints. It is a but loud, but that’s expected with the amount of people in the smaller place. Definitely going to go back!
Very themed based with all the chocolate and what not but the service was good. Very busy but good vibes
Food was good. Nothing special. BUT THE DESSERTS...just wow. My suggestion, eat before going and order a bunch of sweet eats!! Will definitely be returning soon.
Amazing just amazing!!! From the staff to the server and quick efficient service for the food. Definitely loved the food!!! Loved the music loved the vibe!!! Will be making this a more often spot and a highly recommended place to visit or go on dates too
Very nice place. Food was outstanding. A little pricy for what you get but definitely worth it.
Great place to have dessert in lieu of a meal. Regular food was good as well but the chocolate menu is great.
This review is solely based on our experience at the NY Location on 2/15/20. I have enjoyed both my visits to your other locations and have never experienced anything but a first class operation in my visits to Max Brenner. Having a 3 p.m. reservation, we promptly arrived at 2:50 to announce our presence. Our reservation was confirmed and were told we would be called when ready. Now mind you this is the day after Valentines Day so I figured, lets be patient. After waiting 20 minutes and now its 3:10, I noticed people being turned away being told it's a 2 hour wait without a reservation and then certain parties without a reservation were literally being seated in 5 minutes time ahead of us. The restaurant was really not that crazy busy all things considered. So I chalked up my wait to incompetence. I was finally seated at 3:29 for a 3 p.m. reservation and taken upstairs to what I can only imagine was a table that was brought from somewhere at the last minute and put almost at the top of the stairs less than 24 inches from a servers station for dirty plates and glasses. Not being happy with the table location aside, to make matters worse we sat there for 20 minutes without even a nod or gesture from a server while constantly having trays of food from servers passing directly over our heads and the constant clamor of dirty dishes/glasses being dumped into the station next to me. At this point we called it a day and decided to leave. We expressed our displeasure regarding the chain of events that transpired and were greeted with albeit a friendly "millennial" Ok Thank You. While your food really never disappoints, it's really hard to get repeat customers with experiences such as this and if people actually took the time to write these things in a clear and lucid manner and not go on a rant, I'm sure I would not stand alone in giving you this honest feedback. Thanks for your time.
Food was excellent. Service was amazing. Def will go back.
It was fun but the restaurant felt dirty to me. The service wasn’t great-they we’re nice but slow. Food was fine but nothing to write home about. The desserts were good and had a fun presentation. If you are in the area it is fun but wouldn’t make a special trip to eat there.
Fantastic service, great food. My party of 11 felt very comfortable and were incredibly satisfied with the food. Also, we loved the cute way they served the children’s food. Very memorable time. Can’t wait to go back
The fondue was so good! The tray with all the different options was delicious. The potatoes with the lazy brunch meal had a nice kick and the spinach crepe was also really good. Would definitely come again if I’m back in the city.
when we first got seated, we waited about 20 minutes until someone came to ask us what we would like to drink. then it took another 10 minutes to get our drinks...WATER. the service is terrible. so when he actually brought us our drinks, he spilled half of a cup on the table but I dont think he realized cause he left right away. there was no time for him to even realize that he spilled water all over the table and on my legs. and he didn't even ask us what we wanted to order. we had to wait AGAIN to order our food. the food came out quickly but that's because a different person brought it to us. the food was alright, we mainly came for the chocolate so we didn't mind. when we finished our food, I kindly cleaned up the table and stacked our plates and everything. if you would look at our table, you would clearly see that we are finished. the waiter looked at us/passed us so many times and didn't collect our plates or ask us what we would like for dessert. I had to order with another waiter because mine didn't acknowledge us. even better, the waiter I had would walk past our table with a pitcher of water and wouldn't fill our empty cups. again, I had to ask another waiter. literally I had no time to call our waiter over because he would keep standing around doing nothing or walking around. like what the hell??! a 1 hour dinner turned into 3 hours...what is this service?? I wish I knew his name but he didn't even wear a name tag or tell us his name.
Waitress was extremely slow and did not provide great customer service skills.
