I must say I’ve been to Max Brenner’s before albeit it’s been a while... I must say, I get this place is a tourist trap so I’m not expecting portions comparable to what I’m paying but it’s really ridiculous the portion sizes... the service was horrible and slow... I probably won’t go back there again

Met a friend here for Sunday brunch. Hard to find a healthy option on the menu that didn’t include some kind of meat. The noise level is energetic at best and, while it was nice not to be rushed to pay when we indicated we weren’t interested in ordering dessert, someone might have cleared our plates during the 10 or 15 minutes we enjoyed our coffee & tried to get the waiters attention when we were more than ready for the check. The service, in other words, is harried, forgetful and at times entirely neglectful. The food was meh and not worth what we paid.

The place is always packed and always filthy but the desserts are usually great. It's a once in awhile place when you can completely ignore the fact that the floors are completely covered in filth and the bathrooms look like something out of your worst dive bar.

I went for the dessert menu. It was everything I was told. Chocolate everything and it didn't disappoint. I would recommend to any chocolate lover! I am not a huge chocolate fan and still enjoyed it! There is something for everyone!

This had been talked about for two years so we were super excited when we were able to try Max Brenner. The desert was AMAZING! Our server wasn't super friendly but then again we are in NY and not Texas

we had a 4.15 reservation had to wait at least 15 mins to be seated, ordered drinks 2 shakes and a soda, got the soda right away waited 20 mins for the shakes, food came out shortly after I inquired if it would take much longer, fries were cold, over all a very disappointing experience. we ordered the desert as soon as we got our entrees which was the right thing to do. We go the cookie skillet, it was a bit dry although the chocolate sauce was good.

We have a exchange student from Germany so we thought we’d show her something special. We made a reservation and arrived. The place was very full but even so were seated within 10 minutes. We ate the the kids pizza, the cris-cut fries and the quinoa salad. The food was good but portions were on the light side. Probably better as we had the chocolate shot for the kids and and order of the chocolate “Fondue to Share”. This was very good and enough for 4 people to get a good taste of everything. Service was good and we were treated well.

Disappointing. The hot chocolate is out standing, but our other food selections were pretty sad - especially for the price. They seemed to be understaffed - so our wait on our order, our food and our bill were incredibly long (and we were expecting to wait because of the holiday season). Randomly, the pizza that was ordered next to us came out well ahead of our salads. There was also a wait for restrooms because of service issues. Such a disappointment for a place we had been waiting to visit with excitement and anticipation.

Excellent staff! Accommodated 14 of us after being 1/2 hour late for our reservation. Very pleased with the service from the moment we walked through the door to the moment we left. Chocolate Martinis were ridiculously good and the food was great. Max Brenner made 7 adults and 7 children happy, what more could you ask for?

Everything was absolutely amazing. The only thing I would say was that it was a bit loud and would have preferred better seating. Meaning seats not so cramped next to everyone next to you.

Main meals were just ok. The veggie burger seemed straight out of the freezer which wasn’t expected from this restaurant. The flatbread was a little cold, but the desserts were amazing!

Overall great place. The restaurant was packed when we arrived, but we were seated immediately because we had a reservation. The table wasn't great, as they were all very close together and I was almost bumping shoulders with the couple next to us. However, our server was very attentive and our food was brought to us very quickly considering the amount of people in the restaurant. The food was good, but not nearly as amazing as their desserts! We had the chocolate pizza and their Euphoria Peanut Butter Chocolate Fudge Sundae. Their hot chocolate was great as well (and lived up to the hype). All were incredible! I would definitely come back just for the sweets!

Food is outstanding. They really need to have pagers for people waiting to be seated. They get annoyed if you crowd them, but you can’t hear them call you otherwise. We enjoyed our meal; unfortunately, poor service ruined it for us. We heard the manager speaking to the waiter several times about being “moodier than usual today.” We finished our meal at 6:15 and requested hot chocolate. When it didn’t come by 6:35, we asked our waiter to cancel them and bring us the check right away because we didn’t want to miss our train. 6:40 he brings the hot chocolates to us in to go cups, but they were all incorrect and cold. It took us almost another 10 minutes to get the check, and we wound up missing the train. On the way out, he started loudly complaining about the tip that we left - not very professional.

The food was great, the atmosphere was even better. 1 thing was that our waiter was a bit nasty and sarcastic. I was out with my 3 sisters for my youngest sisters 20th birthday, we were laughing and joking with our waiter but he was not very friendly.

We booked for 6.15 and 30 mins later were still waiting to be seated. We had a bus tour at 7.45 so by the time our food came out (mains only as no time) we had to shovel it in and have our server bring the bill while we were eating so we could jump and run, only just made the bus as it was. Very disappointed as I love this restaurant so was excited to revisit while in NYC but a 30 min wait for a reserved table isnt adequate.

I took a shot at making reservations for 4:15 on a Saturday, in NYC, during Santacon, prior to a Rockettes show at Radio City Music Hall...there was no way my birthday girl-girlfriend and I were going to be seated even close to that...man WAS I WRONG. The place was packed but we were seated at 4:16pm! The service and ambiance and food/drink selection and vibe and everything in between was spectacular. Chocolate martini, flatbread pizza and the tirimisu was all we had time for. We had such a great time and cannot wait to return with/without reservations. Thank you!

We really enjoyed the food and the ice creams. Our waiter called Al was very friendly and helpful. Although I did ask a passing waiter where i could get extra spoons and he just grunted "ask your waiter"! He was a tall white guy, fairly well built but looked as though he cut his own hair. He could have just told me where i could walk to grab a spoon. Restroom could be doing with a good cleaning or updated. All in all, a nice and very different experience. Would definitely go back.
