Realizing a lifelong dream, Curtis opened his first solo restaurant, Maude (Beverly Hills, CA), in February 2014. Affectionately named after his late paternal grandmother, the restaurant pays homage to Curtis’ first culinary mentor whose sensibilities are resonant throughout the restaurant experience.

The menu at Maude is a set ten-course chef’s tasting menu that is created around one seasonal ingredient each month and creatively woven, to varying degrees, through each course. Some courses call for the hero ingredient to be at the center of the plate, whilst at other times it plays a supporting role.

Maude’s “menu-less” format and intimate 24-seat dining room and open kitchen chef’s counter, invites guests to put their trust into the hands of the chef, and allows for a strikingly detailed, personal, and attentive experience.

I have been dreaming about visiting this restaurant for the last 2 years. I travelled all the way from South Africa and when I finally made it I was bitterly disappointed. I have had the pleasure of dining at lovely restaurants in my life and unfortunately, Maude was not one of them. The menu (black truffle month) was tasteless and way overpriced.

We had an awful meal and experience at Maude. We joined friends who had been many times before and they were also so disappointed. The meal was for the most part not good. There were a couple of courses that were acceptable but not great. We ordered the reserve wine pairing and we were served two wines that had turned bad and the sommelier acted like it was no big deal. The service was not acceptable either. They were rushing us through our meal and poured our wine faster than we could drink it. At one point I had 4 glasses lined up because they were pouring so fast and serving our courses so quickly. They wanted to get us out as soon as possible. We have dined at Singlethread, Per Se, The French Laundry, and many other restaurants like Maude and we have always had an amazing time. This meal was an expensive disaster. I tried to call the restaurant and email the manager and they never returned my calls or emails. I am thinking they are putting their attention towards the new restaurant Gwen. Please don’t waste your time or money.

Had the white truffle dinner. Wanted to try it before the restaurant changes format (where the entire meal features one ingredient) in 2018. The course progression is well thought out and exquisitely prepared. I️ fully enjoyed the experience. The service is impeccable also!

It was a 9 course tasting dinner and most things were very good. They were very considerate of our pickiness- vegetarian or fish only or chicken and fish but no meat etc. I think they would do no cheese if asked. It wasn't quite as spectacular as a 2 star michelin meal in Europe but it was quite creative and tasty.

The vintage China was gorgeous.

Best consistently good Michelin-caliber restaurant in LA hands down. Not as much pretense as Providence. Highly creative food, always amazing wine pairings, and clever, witty spontaneous wait staff.

The service was fantastic & the food was great however aside from the foie gras it for the most part was rather basic ...what really bothered me though was spending $800 for 2 people to have a dinner where we left hungry. The portions on wine were weak and the portions on food were ungodly scarce. I felt ripped off when the check came & most definitely would not return. For the price This restaurant is cheating people out of their pockets! Stay away!!

The staff here is always fantastic, the food delicious. We've been a few times and we keep returning to new, delightful, culinary surprises and the quality experience. They keep track of repeat customers' preferences and accommodate dietary restrictions.

Incredible food and drinks. Jaw droppingly creative food with exquisite attention to detail, you should take a sense of adventure and fun to the restaurant and be willing to try new tastes, combinations and sensations. Fantastic, knowledgable and friendly service. Lots of fun but also quite intimate tables. It's not warm in there so take something that covers your arms.

Good food, but not as good as I expected. What was more disappointing was the service. Someone came to the table about three quarters of the way through our meal, and asked us to hurry… Because there was another table reservation coming in in 30 minutes. How rude. Fine dining?

Definitely a must try restaurant. Great service and they use very fresh ingredients to prepare one of the best meals I have ever had.
