Had a really nice belated Mother's Day Dinner here.
Amazing food!!! The only problem is that it takes a long time for food to be ready, but totally worth the wait...
We hadn't been to Max's in close to 2 years but had great memories of a wonderful dinner out. We were pretty disappointed in our visit this time. It use to be affordable with a great entree menu...not anymore. The menu for dinner was pretty limited with nothing really standing out. I settled for the Prime Rib dip...pretty pedestrian. My wife had the fish tacos and my son the Prime Rib tacos. My son referred to his tacos as "weak' and my wife's response we "meh".
On the bright side, the service was great.
I doubt we will return.
Got right in, service was great, food was interesting and tasted great - Its a keeper
Terrible, service was awful. Seriously, waited 30 minutes to pay our bill after finishing our meal..... sitting outside without water, coffee or even an offer of either
Continues to be inconsistent. Some of food cold; some missing items. Server apparently not familiar with menu - as not all items ordered arrived. Not going back.
Tasty their pork chops cooked to perfection! Nice comfortable atmosphere and friendly service too.
We were seated at our reservation time. Food was good; service was excellent.
Appetizers (crispy fried oysters and artichoke hearts) and the seafood chowder were good, the grilled sockeye salmon overcooked, blackened chicken salad good, except for the chicken which was dry. Service and ambience average. Overpriced wine.
We had dinner with friends and were seated nearer to the entrance than we wanted to be seated even though we had reservations. The place was packed and those without reservations who had followed us in had to leave. We ordered drinks and an appetizer which was their crispy artichokes was good but the sauce was smeared on the plate with not enough to accommodate the artichokes. A small dish with the sauce would have been better. The waiter asked if we wanted bread and we said yes. We had to remind her that we ordered bread and she apologized and brought four slices which were cold and stale. We send it back and she brought us fresh bread (why couldn’t she have done that in the first place?). Our main courses came. I ordered one of the special items on the daily list. It was supposed to be rotisserie chicken with pappardelle noodles with sun dried tomatoes, peas, and sauce. I struggled to find chicken and found a few pieces in the melange. I left 3/4 of it over since the rest of the dish was just noodles and peas with no chicken and the dish just became cloyingly saucy. My friend ordered the halibut tacos. The huge taco shells were not crispy and the juice from the halibut kept running out. She ended up ignoring the shells and ate the scant amount of fish and slaw with a fork. On a more positive note, my friend’s husband had BBQ short ribs and my husband had the seared tuna salad and both liked their choices. We had a disappointing experience the last time we ate at Matt’s and will not be going back again.
This was like 10th or 12th time we ate at Matts, and they seemed totally off their game.
Our granddaughter always requests Matt's for celebrating her birthday or to catch up with her grandparents. We don't mind that at all. It's our favorite too for tasty food and drink choices.
Matt's never disappoints. Good selection of food and a nice bar. Great service. If something is not correct, they will fix it.
Went with friends for a nice meal out. Our waiter was cordial and patient; available but not pushing us to hurry up and order. The food was outstanding! If you like spicy cajun style, you have to try Matt's Jambalaya. Best ever. All menu items our party ordered were really good. We'd all go back in a heartbeat. The food is definitely worth it.
The food quality at Matt's is very variable. This time the chicken in the chicken sandwich was like rubber.
First time at this restaurant. Very nice layout and decor; great service; amazing variety of food; food well prepared and presented. Great wait staff. Only suggestion was that accompanying veggies was a very small portion and overdone. Everything else great.
I have never taken the time to write about my experience before, but this one cannot be over looked.
My wife and I took my elderly mother and brother out for dinner on Saturday, we were so embarrassed our food was horrible, after we had told them how good the food was here.
My mother and I had the same thing, fish and chips which was very greasy, my wife had prime rib and that was so red, it looked raw, it was tough, cold and soaking in awe juice. The sides came on a small saucer, the broccolini was hard and black, looked like sticks on the plate. In the past it was never served to her like this and this was my wife’s favorite place to come and have prime rib. My brother had stroganoff there were hardy any noodles.
I hope you really look in to this because we spent a lot of money and left unhappy with the food and we will not be back again, after we been here several times in the past.
Thank you for your attention in this matter,
Very good, service was excellent!!
Great staff! Great Food! Great Service! Great Location!
The prime rib is always a reliable, outstanding choice, cooked to perfection as ordered. The staff are friendly and helpful. Always a pleasant evening out and a wonderful meal.
The oysters were extremely fresh . The salad was very crisp . And the waitress was perfect
Met business associates at Matt's for Happy Hour. Parking is super easy, the appetizers were DELICIOUS, and the service was fabulous.
I had the wild salmon grilled. It was so tasty! My challenge was that everything that came with the meal had garlic in it. The salad dressing, the mashed potatoes, the fish topping, etc. You would have thought this was an Italian restaurant! They did make accommodations and I made my own 1000 island dressing and just had French fries! Lol
Most of the restaurant was very loud. Fortunately we got a table in a smaller space at the back, where the noise was tolerable. Our server was pleasant and meant well but he had too many tables to be able to provide good and prompt service. He stopped by periodically to ask if we needed more drinks but no one ever refilled our water glasses. Food was just OK, and a bit pricey to boot.
Extensive menu with daily specials, hard to choose! always delicious and the service is exceptional
Good prices, but wouldn't go out of my way to go there.
The slow roasted prime rib is absolutely amazing! Perfectly cooked and not bland like you get at some other places.
Excellent food. There is a variety of food choices on the menu. Friendly staff. I definitely recommend this place for any occasion!
Service was sort of slow. Took long time for appetizers to come out and the waitress took a while before taking our entrée order even though the place wasn't that busy
The food was good, but not outstanding. Our server was friendly, knowledgeable and accommodating, but could not always be found if we had questions. Our plates and flatware were cleared several times, and we were left at times with a course with no plates or silver. Weird. It seemed we were being rushed to clear the table so someone else could sit, and we weren’t there that long.
The price seemed rather high for the value. We are both avoiding carbs so we split salads, sides, appetizers and one entree, and perhaps we were penalized for sharing, but the feeling when we left was that we didn’t need to hurry back.
Server was good, but bar was very slow. We had our dinner before our drinks, which were ordered earlier, ever showed up.
As always, Matt's delivered!
We always enjoy our meal at Matt's and this was no exception. Good service, food and atmosphere. We'll be back!
Good everyday place with great food.
Excellent experience! 4 friends met for lunch after attending the Met performance of Tosca at Bella Botega theater. Wait staff was very friendly, accommodating and patient while we made our food & drink selections. We all enjoyed Matt's and look forward to future dining experiences there!
We had a back table so it was quieter but I really liked the energy. The food and drinks were excellent - just a little slow in getting it.
Food was mediocre. Pork chop over cooked, chicken too dry, fish and chips too much batter, calamari poor quality and dried out. I will never return. Our group of five were all disappointed
Waiter was attentive but food servers must have been in training as food for 2 of us was served 5-10 minutes before the food for the other two people in our group was served and they only had ordered chicken Caesar salads. The waiter was very apologetic and said the food server should have waited until all 4 orders were ready before serving it.
