Matts’ Rotisserie & Oyster Lounge Ratings and Reviews
The food was good, but not outstanding. Our server was friendly, knowledgeable and accommodating, but could not always be found if we had questions. Our plates and flatware were cleared several times, and we were left at times with a course with no plates or silver. Weird. It seemed we were being rushed to clear the table so someone else could sit, and we weren’t there that long.
The price seemed rather high for the value. We are both avoiding carbs so we split salads, sides, appetizers and one entree, and perhaps we were penalized for sharing, but the feeling when we left was that we didn’t need to hurry back.
Excellent experience! 4 friends met for lunch after attending the Met performance of Tosca at Bella Botega theater. Wait staff was very friendly, accommodating and patient while we made our food & drink selections. We all enjoyed Matt's and look forward to future dining experiences there!
Waiter was attentive but food servers must have been in training as food for 2 of us was served 5-10 minutes before the food for the other two people in our group was served and they only had ordered chicken Caesar salads. The waiter was very apologetic and said the food server should have waited until all 4 orders were ready before serving it.
We went for Christmas Eve dinner. Food was very good, not great. Service was excellent and the atmosphere was very pleasant. I loved their food choices because there was something for everyone, even our vegan guest. I would go back for dinner again. Probably not for a special occasion but for a nice dinner or lunch out. We did not try the oysters but I have heard that they are very good.
Matts, start with a 1/2 dozen oysters and cocktail and see where the night goes! Great Happy hour and bar if you into that. Dinner in the dinning area is great with friends or family. The selection of food is great, its a place you could eat at a number of times a week and always find something new and great to select. Cant go wrong going to Matt's!
Family of four (with two kiddos, 7 & 10) went there after a movie on "Black Friday." It was busy but the staff was friendly and service was good. Kids menus at this restaurant are very good. The kids salmon dinner has a large piece of fresh salmon, veggies and mashed potatoes. Kids fish-n-chips have 2 large pieces (more than enough for my 10yr old daughter). My burger (Matt's "killer burger") was absolutely delicious, with veggies substituted for fries. My wife had the scallop risotto and, bummer for her, because it came with only three scallops and had WAY too much balsamic vinegar in it. Kids were happy with their salmon dinner and fish-n-chips. With a bottle of Pellegrino and no alcoholic or other drinks, tab was just over $79 (before tip). Not bad and we'll definitely be back - but not for the scallop risotto.
The food was bland and nothing to rave about. I was highly disappointed in the food... After reading all the reviews... I thought this place would be good... we paid over $70 for 2 adult meals and 2 kids meals. This will be our first and last time coming here.
A great value for happy hour with bunches of delicious small plate offerings. The happy hour cocktail menu was different then what the web site said which was a bummer. Most of the HH special cocktails were super sweeties which isn't what our party looks for. None the less, a great local after work hot spot with delightful offerings for about $6 -$12 for small plates and $3 off for special cocktails. Oh.... Don't forget the HH fresh oysters for $1.25. They were awesome. Service was 5 star, too.
We eat at Matt's regularly. Our recent meal was not as good as usual. My wife asked for her steak medium well: it came blood red in the middle. I asked for my salmon to be cooked through: it was barely cooked in the middle. Also my salmon plate was drowned in melted butter with the mashed potatoes almost liquefied. Because we didn't feel like waiting any longer for things to be redone properly, we ate what we were served.
Took a client their for a business lunch. We had three appetizers - Steamed clams, artichoke hearts and calamari - and each was flavorful and delicious, disappearing rapidly. Our group had a variety of main courses and all were given positive reviews. My steak salad was excellent, very flavorful and not heavy at all. Our server seemed pretty new and a bit slow at times, but his attitude was very positive and the effort was there. Being in Redmond Town Center Mall, nothing very special about the location or ambiance. Overall a good experience.
The food as always was so good. The salmon with the pear vinaigrette was outstanding. It can get pretty loud with all the talking and music but you can deal with it once you are accustomed to it. Service was a bit spotty, but that was the kitchen. You kind of want your salad to come out before your dinner, not during. I let it slide as the caprese salad is really good. The one "problem" I had was the table where we were placed. It is so close to the booths to the right of it and it is cramped in that spot. I don't like sitting there but that is where we sat. Next time, I'll wait for a table before sitting there.
