Easily the best food in the market with an incredible view to match. This is one of a handful of places in Seattle where I’m comfortable spending $200+ for a meal.

Love this place. Consistently good food, excellent service, & iconic view of Pike Place Market make it a great experience every time. Bacon onion dip & Chips is a yummy indulgence. Fish sandwich is always fresh & tasty. Deviled eggs are a unique culinary delight!

Excellent flavors and menu! Service was exceptional. Pricey, but worth it for mid sized portions.

We had relatively early reservations for a Saturday dinner the service wasn't what I expected as we had to wait a good 15 minutes for a server to come and take our initial beverage order. When we did order our wine our server delivered our wine glasses and told us someone else would be bringing our bottle. We waited another 10-15 mins for the sommelier to bring to us when we asked what was taking so long we were told oh it will be right here. Our appetizers arrived promptly but we waited a considerable amount of time for our entrees to arrive even after we had finished our appetizers, there was a good 15-20 minutes in between which wasn't terrible but two of my dinner companions ordered the sea scallops and the black beans it was paired with seemed out of place. Black beans with sea scallops didn't seem like a correct side and the beans were actually under cooked, clearly this is a chef's preference but the pairing was a flavor profile that wasn't appropriate to them. Risotto or fingerlings or polenta or another starch seem to go better with them. The prices are what you would expect for a Seattle notable location and the view is definitely iconic with the Pike Place Market sign in your sight but I know of several other restaurants in the area being a local that is considerably better with lower price point. I suppose it's fine for tourists but as a local I think once is enough.

It was our first night in Seattle. It was a perfect spot to experience the great cuisine this city has to offer. The memories of that chocolate snowcap ice cream will stay with us forever.

The service felt like a tourist destination - server seemed like he should work at suburban chain restaurant like - goofy, not very good and we all grew tired of his well rehearsed jokes (I’m surprised he wasn’t wearing an Ask me about our endless curly fries button) had to ask what we ordered a couple times, didn’t keep water filled. Had no sense of timing of when to come by and when to give us time. Expected more of a professional service staff. Have been there for lunch years ago and remembered liking it then, food was okay but nothing amazing, cocktails were good - so the bartender was fine. Ambience was just so so but we were at the first table in the door so probably the worst for that. Too big for four people - felt like we were far away from each other. Maybe it’s still good for lunch, I’m not sure I’ll try - definitely won’t go for dinner again.

Great food. The lunch sandwiches we're fantastic. Both my wife and I love our meal. The view of the market and the lake we're as good as anywhere in Seattle.

This place is a bit tricky to find as the signage is on the lite side, however it was well worth the extra walk around the block to find it. There were many items on the menu we wanted to try which only means a return visit is in order. We sat next to the open kitchen and it was so interesting watching the food being prepared and plated. Our meals were excellent - the salmon and the scallops. The bread pudding is a staple and original desert to this restaurant, however I have had better so would not order that one again. We would definitely go back to Matt's!!
