All the food was very good. The only downside is that the menu is a bit limited.
Wonderful place for a business lunch! The atmosphere and location are great and wonderful for entertaining out of town guests. We lucked out with a great window seat on a beautiful sunny Seattle day. Truly a Seattle institution!
Catfish sandwich was melt in your mouth, and unbelievably fresh. Only critique is that I would have preferred more flavor. Perhaps could have used a more generous amount of the specialized mayo that dresses it. Phenomenal for the ingredients and freshness regardless.
Very fun, lively atmosphere with great views. Food and service excellent.
Thanks
Nice view but very sunny
Surprisingly awesome food in a bit of a dive-y (in a good way) setting. It's a little hard to find, and on the way in, you're not sure if it's all the reviews would indicate - but you're quickly dispossessed of any reticence when the food is put on the table. The kitchen works hard, and they put out some impressive food during our recent visit. The servers were friendly and attentive. Would recommend a cocktail (or two) with water at the meal, rather than the wine list, but wine's not why you're there. Delicious - great find.
Researched restaurants in downtown Seattle. Foders identified Matt’s in the Market and there were excellent reviews on OpenTable too. We wanted to have a memorable and delicious dinner. Matt’s in the Market did not disappoint. Fresh seafood was outstanding! One of us had the seafood stew, which was a bowl full of fresh seafood. What made this special is that you could taste many delectable seafood items and they were not drowning in broth—-just enough on the bottom of the bowl. The other had the scallops in a lemon sauce which was great too! Service was great, presentation was great, food was great.
Birthday lunch
One of the best meals I've had lately. In Seattle, that's saying something. The roasted brussel sprouts for starter was incredible. I could make a meal of this if it were a little larger and I added bread. It had a Middle Eastern vibe and creative use of ingredients. The seared scallops were perfect. Great char on the outside and succulent just right inside. Try the strawberry rhubarb bread pudding with Meyer lemon ice cream. I'm not a dessert fan so my companion ordered and I said I would take a taste. Well- we fought over every last bite. Subtle, not cloying--the ice cream was incredible.
I will be coming back!! The food was amazing!!!
Not much to say, other than another incredible lunch experience. The Catfish Sandwich is amazing!!
Wonderful food, wonderful venue, great service. A Seattle institution!
Fabulous lunch with friends. Nice menu choices. Ordered a Left Right Left beverage from the bar. Sam was our server and was so friendly and attentive and offered the story of the origin of the bar beverage. We had a great time.
Fantastic food, great ambiance and service. Really fun to watch the chill kitchen work so flawlessly as a team. Highly recommend!
We had a great server who handled our party of four perfectly, including our 5 year old daughter.
I feel the food is overrated and overpriced compared to some much better restaurants in the area.
My husband had the Salmon , and it was wonderful . I had the seafood stew , it was good, not fantastic! The crab in the stew was horrible, unable to eat it, almost like the pieces you would throw away. I waited for our waitress to ask how we liked our meal, she didn’t ask, so I assume she knew! Desert was good. We won’t return, which is to bad since we’ve just moved to Seattle!
Not what we expected
The food nice but incredible that they didn’t have seafood when they are located in front of the market
Service was not the best - and it wasn’t that crowded. Unfriendly.
I love Matt’s! I took my boyfriend for his birthday and had a great meal and GREAT service. The only down fall was a group next to us was insanely loud, but at least they were having fun! Will definitely be back soon!
The food was delicious, but what I ordered on the menu was not what arrived on the plate. I ordered, seared scallops, farro nero, chorizo, pinenuts. I received 3 seared scallops, placed on a white sauce of some sort, with finely sliced apple and sprouts of some sort on top. I was out to try new flavors so I ate it and it was great, new flavor, but not what I Ordered. Which is kinda the idea behind a menu. The staff were great, location great.
I've been going to Matt's since 1996, when I worked at The Creamery at Pike's Place Market. It has stayed friendly, great service, yummy food and a relaxed dining experience. Great view. It's my go to restaurant, never lets me down.
Every time my husband and I come to Seattle we have lunch at Matt's. This time I was with my daughter and grand daughter and enjoyed the beautiful weather and the views from the restaurant. The food was great as usual. We will definitely come back.
Grand experience. I would recommend Matt’s to anyone visiting Seattle.
Matt's is one of our favorite places to eat in Seattle. The casual, bar-like atmosphere is delightful for lunch; the food is world-class! This visit was part of my birthday trip from Charlotte, and if Matt's were in our town we would dine there at least once every month. The seafood is wonderful as are the unique bergers and the view of the bustle of Pike's Market and the Bay off in the distance add to the experience. Waitstaff is wonderful - never feel rushed. Reservations are a good idea as this place gets very busy for lunch.
Great location, view, food and service was good..
We DINED at Matt's. They take the best of what's available from Pike and turn it into an event.
Had the best prepared Trout I have ever had. Seafood stew excellent too. Wait staff totally professional and without pretensions.
Very attentive waitstaff. Knowledgeable of both food and wine offerings.
Great! Wonderful place for a nice dinner
Truly one of the BEST restaurants in Seattle. Located in the Pike Place Market on the 2nd floor so you get epic views of the clock, the fish market, people watching, etc. BEST staff, BEST everything! A must go to spot for locals and tourists alike.
They have the best seafood I have ever had and i'm from NYC!
My wife and I celebrated our 17yr. Anniversary. We had the greatest experience and eat great food. I would recommend Matt’s in the market to anyone and the crow is amazing.
Very cool location overlooking the main entrance to Pike Place Market. Food was very good and service pleasant.
The staff were all really hospitable-from being greeted, to our server and everyone in between. The food was all stellar-and they had no problem walking us through gluten free and dairy free options. Really appreciated the entire experience!
We enjoyed this great restaurant for lunch! Very good, super generous and delicious! I would highly recommend reservations as it would have been a hour wait had we not had reservations. We enjoyed the catfish sandwich and clam chowder!
Food was great, though a little pricey for lunch. Service was pleasant, but slow and delayed.
Took my mom for her birthday, since she happened to be in town and loves the Pike Place Market. While the prices reflect the location, a view of the market while eating is lovely. We ended up ordering all 3 of the daily specials and other plates, such as the scallops.
Fantastic food, excellent service, and a good time. For sure. I have been before, I will definitely go back.
Excellent Seattle restaurant in the heart of the City!
This is a good spot for lunch -- tasty food with a local flavor and a nice view of the market. Prices are reasonable since the entrees include soup or salad.
My favorite lunch spot in all of Seattle. The tuna sandwich is extraordinary!
Matt's in the Market is always our go-to restaurant when treating very special people.
