Matt's in the Market
Located in Seattles Pike Place Market, Matts in the Market offers fresh, elegant American cuisine. The restaurant sources its ingredients from the Pike Place farmers market and is able to provide a vibrant and seasonally rotating menu as a result. Matts in the Market has a full bar that includes an extensive wine selection.
Start out your meal at Matts in the Market with the deviled eggs or another appetizer like the chips and hot bacon and caramelized onion dip. Choose from entres like the falafel or the market fish of the day. Top off your experience with a delicious dessert like the honey Trinity cream or the pumpkin pie bread pudding.
I love Matt's in the Market - it has become the quintessential place I bring an out of town guest. The prices however, have become OUTRAGEOUS! $40 - $60 for a seafood entree is pretty precious in my book. Small place that can probably command the prices, but you are boarding on ruining a the appeal of an amazing spot.
The poblano soup and the views were amazing!
The food was outstanding, especially the scallops and the strawberry marshmallow cheesecake was over the top good. Loved the ambience in the room over looking the market and service was friendly and helpful.
Went to Matt's for lunch with my dad. Excellent food and service as always. I would highly recommend the cobb salad, though everything else I've eaten there has been a win in my book so you can't go wrong!
Great neighborhood vibe and the catfish sandwich was amazing and I normally dont like catfish!!
Dinner last night was excellent. I had the bed salmon I have ever had. The staff was extremely professional and friendly. I had a table with a view of the kitchen and enjoyed watching the chefs at work!
Excellent food, unique tastes, great atmosphere kitty corner and above the market. You will enjoy your meal and the staff was amazing. Hands down best food I’ve had in a long time from a restaurant. Will definitely go back.
Had an OT Rez at 8:15 but showed up at 5:30 because we were walking by. Got right in and sat at bar. Food was great good and our bar tender was very attentive.
Matt’s is always fantastic. We love sitting at the bar and enjoying conversation, impeccable fresh food and taking in the history.
Lucked out and was able to get a table, Matt’s is one of my longtime favorite Seattle spots. Fresh local oysters and halibut were to die for.
Matt's is a great place to take your Seattle visitor to. Food is unique and tasty. Atmosphere is true Seattle. Dinining area can be loud making conversation difficult at times. The restaurant is not climate control and can be on the warm side on summer days.
Great service and lovely presentation of our lunch coupled with great flavors. I had soup and salad... the soup was a generous portion of delicious white bean stew and the house salad had fresh assorted greens and nice punch of blue cheese and delicate dressing. Just perfect.
We have been coming to Matt’s for over 10 years and it just gets better and better! Our visitors all want to go to Matt’s and we return everytime we come to Seattle from Bainbridge Island. A real Seattle treasure!
Always delicious !
Increíble la comida y el lugar.
This is a Seattle gem. The food and service were excellent and the dining environment is terrific. We had a great table overlooking the Pike Place Market. I highly recommend this restaurant.
We come to Seattle annually and always go to Matt’s for lunch. Love sitting at the bar, chatting with Robbie the bartender. Food is always fresh and tasty. The restaurant always has a good vibe to it.

Absolutely wonderful experience! The service was impeccable, the food was outstanding. Love the charming, romantic feel of the restaurant. Could not have been happier with our time at Matt's!
The food is exceptional, presentation outstanding. Matt's never disappoints!
Outstanding food with attentive service. A bit expensive but worth it for a special treat. Nice view of the Sound. Informal decor
Incredible food that overlooked sunset on the market. Our server was kind, knowledgeable and prompt.
A very special evening. Excellent food and service.
Delicious food & drinks! Fun to be able to watch the chef in his element & even had a chance to chat with him at the end of the meal.
Server was a little rude/condescending
Very enjoyable dinner with Matt as our server (not Matt the owner!). Food was excellent and fresh. Ambience was hip, easy-going. Ended up spending a fair amount, but worth it!!
Perfect spot for a celebratory dinner. Great view of the Market; friendly staff; amazing food!
Amazing chips and dip. Deviled eggs good too! Would love to get the recipes!
The food was amazing and the service was fantastic.
My husband took me to dinner for my 51st birthday. This is my favorite Seattle restaurant. It’s cozy, I love the food and the location.
Great food. Peremptory and dismissive attitude of the person who seemed in charge of the restaurant and our waiter made it an underwhelming experience. Unfortunate since the food and wine were excellent and I would have enjoyed otherwise introducing my husband and other friends to the place.
Great setting friendly and efficient servers
Would I recommend Matt's to a friend?----Maybe. The restaurant is well managed, in a great location, the staff was great and the wines are nice but we simply didn't like the food.
The food at this lovely restaurant is prepared with a sweet note as apposed to a savory one. we started with the Hamachi Ceviche but found the dish to be so mild that it became a bit boring. Next we had the Salmon and the Halibut but both fishes were served in sauces that had a distinct sweet note that we didn't think paired nicely with the fish.
Please do this restaurant. It is a great place in a perfect location and we will likely return but order different items.
New to Seattle scene but found this gem of a place at the Pike Place Market district. Excellent food and service, albeit pricey. Highly recommend their beet salad, halibut, and orange glaze bread pudding.
Great food and service. A great lunch spot.
My salmon dish was average and my wife’s seafood stew was very good. Wine list was good but limited in selection. Overall a good experience.
The food was excellent as was the service. Great place to take visitors. Wonderful atmosphere.
Friendly staff and wonderful food!
