Matteo's of Roslyn Ratings and Reviews
Love it! Lobster bisque is exquisite! My wife said it was like you know what in her mouth. The service was top-notch, very attentive my water glass was always full my silverware was changed and my server was always accessible. This hidden gem blew me away and I’m a huge foodie and not easy to please. Parking is terrible even with Valet there was a wait but would not deter me from coming back again and again. Class act all the way!
The food was delicious as usual. They kindly accommodated our requests and catered to us as royalty. This is why we regularly have Matteo's on our regular dining list. They keep the music at a level so even people sitting across from you can hear, since the point of the evening is fine food, wine and conversation. We easily met all our goals tonight and look forward to our next visit.
Very mediocre experience. The food was delicious, but other than that I was not impressed. It took a half hour to order and receive our drinks ( which was a bottle of wine), and our server was not accommodating when we asked for recommendations on the menu. I do not think I will return to Matteos of Roslyn.
The Matteo’s restaurant week menu was great value; awesome selection and portions ! The restaurant is beautiful itself. The service was a little slow; not sure if it was due to the busyness of restaurant week but it felt like a lot of time has passed between each time the waitress checked our table even though she was very sweet. We were there from 7:10 - 9:30. Overall, would add this to a list of staple places to dine. Food was delicious
Been to Matteo's many times. Had my daughter's reversal dinner there. We have recommended it to several friends and family.
We tried many different dishes and haven't been dissatisfied, everything was delicious.
We've been impressed with the service as well, sooo it's become our favorite local restaurant .
The waiter was awful. Granted we were taking a long time to order, but the customer is ALWAYS right. He was rolling his eyes and making faces. He was very controversial and seemed like he couldn’t be bothered. The food was fine, but not as good as usual. The salad did not have the same flavor as it usually does. The main meals were fine.
The chef came to our rescue in the end.
It will be a while before we venture back there.
So I ate at roslyn location after I ate Huntington. The Roslyn location is authentic and original and everything was phenomenal. Huntington is definitely a little nicer but the service was not as fine-tuned as the Roslyn location. The Roslyn location also had some great specials which we did not find at the Huntington location. I think the Roslyn location should put in a pizza oven like Huntington that was definitely a nice touch and just for someone eating at the bar it’s a great idea. Overall our experience at the Roslyn location was great and will continue to go back. We will probably give the Huntington location some time to work out there kinks with the service mostly.
Found this gem on radio 102.7 contest. I did not win but still came. All the classics done well and professional and attentive service! Prices were cheap for all that food! Mike the Chef/boss was very accommodating and help us meet our dietary restrictions. Sophie was a sweetheart. Will continue to return !
This is hands-down the best Italian restaurant in Long Island! We have been coming here for years and the food is always spot on! Some copycats opened up down the block called 388 and the food and service is subpar. There is absolutely no connection which people think. There is only one original and we are loyal to Mateo‘s. If you are in the area and looking for a great dinner with great service in a really beautiful setting this is the place to go. We will be back next week for another great meal!
Matteos was excellent. It was a 2 hour drive I would do again. Our service was phenomenal top notch! Make sure you go hungry! We called all our friends who go down the Island and told them it is a must to stop and eat here! Only 2 blocks of L.I.E. Everything is homemade and the price was fantastic.
This was our first visit to this restaurant. It is a typical Roslyn area restaurant which some may consider this discription a prejoritive. Perhaps. The menu is large with many traditional Italian dishes and some specials. The dishes are offered in two portions regular and family size. We found our dishes nicely prepared but lacked any exceptionalism . We had early reservations and by the time we were ready to leave the restaurant became quite crowded and noisy. I would give the place another try but not on a Saturday night
Wife ordered a rack of lamb from daily special menu to find they didn't have as they put out the prior week's specials. Drinks were VERY expensive, but well done. Caesar salad was outstanding then went downhill. Ravioli special as an appetizer was mediocre. I ordered a veal dish with eggplant and mozzarella that looked great and was a large portion, but could hardly taste veal in it. My wife ordered a single portion of pasta in red clam sauce. It was an enormous portion even if a small size so enough for a large table. It was only ok. Desert was a napoleon that is excellent. We were there once before recently and enjoyed the meal and singer, who this time didn't come until 7:00 PM as we were leaving. Wouldn't go back again.
