Matteo's of Boca Raton
Fantastic food and service!!
One of the noisiest restaurants in South Florida. Conversation almost impossible.
NO AIR CONDITIONING DUE TO RECENT POWER FAILURE - UNBELIEVABLY HOT AND UNCOMFORTABLE - COULD HAVE SAT OUTSIDE IF SOMEONE TOLD US ABOUT NO AC
THEY KEPT SAYING AC WAS BEING FIXED AND WOULD BE RESTORED ANY MINUTE - NEVER CAME ON AT ALL
NO ONE TOLD US KITCHEN WAS NOT FULLY FUNCTIONAL - TOOK ONE HOUR FOR APPETIZERS
HARDLY SAW WAITER AS HE WAS WORKING OUTSIDE TABLES WHICH FILLED UP ONCE PEOPLE SAW HOW HOT THE INSIDE WAS
MANAGER COULD NOT HANDLE ALL COMPLAINING GUESTS AND WAS YELLING AT WAITERS
ONCE FOOD ARRIVED AFTER 2 HOURS IT WAS QUITE GOOD BUT HARDLY WORTH WAITING THAT LONG
Normally I love Matteos but when my friends and I were there the Air Conditioning was brokrt,it was wsrm. The service was rushed and all 4 dishes were brought out together. The chicken in one of the dished was overcooked and was hard and dry.It was taken off the bill we we were still not happy. The spaghetti dish we ordered should have been spicy but was bland and oily.Overall not a good experience. I was very unhappy that one of my favorite restaurants failed and I can't think of going back any time soon
Hands down favorite restaurant!!!!! Will continue to come here as long as it’s open!!!
Good food, large portions
Waited 45 minutes after our reservation. Tables so crowded we couldn’t move. With exception of linguini with clam sauce which was good, the other four pasta entrees we had were blah and like pasta you’d get from a pizza place. Way way overpriced. Don’t bother
This place is the real deal if you are looking for delicious Italian food. Come hungry since the meals are large. They do offer half portions which is a great way to go since you’ll want to make it to the homemade desserts!!
Great food, good service. Our only issue is that it was very loud and difficult to hold a conversation.
The large clams oregano to were inedible. It was like chewing on rubber. The spaghetti with white clam sauce wasn’t very flavorful. The was no richness or taste.to the dish. The linguini with light oil was drenched in oil The shrimp Wendy was good and our waiter, Gregory, was EXCELLENT
Excellent service as usual
Fantastic. Matt Mauriello. Female bartender amazing
Good music on Monday night!
We were 2 minutes late checking in for our 5:15 reservation and the snotty receptionist told us that now we’d have to wait our turn after 3 tables without reservations were seated first. We had an 85 years old woman in a wheelchair and after the wait at the valet to park we were 2 minutes late. But really???
We were seated about 6:15 at a table that had been empty since we arrived at 5:17.
We waited another hour for our food some of which was hot and delicious and some was cold.
Service was awful.
Dessert and cappuccinos took another 1/2 hour to serve after we ordered it and the cappuccinos were watered down and terrible. I can’t remember ever sending back a cappuccino.
No sign of the manager in all of this.
Food is good, portions loud
Service was a bit slow and busy noise
The service was wonderful. The food was great and plentiful. It was pretty noisy.
Always great food! The chopped salad is so delicious!
Have been here many times. Today, the octopus was very dry and the shrimp scampi was very bland. First time I have not raved about the food. Was very disappointed.
Dinner with out of town friends moving to Florida
Extremely loud, very busy place. Not a place to be able to converse. Servers look distraught and seem extremely unhappy and reflects bad performance. Would not intentionally go back.
We were eight people seated immediately on an early Saturday evening with reservations. Bread and water were promptly served. We ordered a bottle of wine and some drinks that were brought to the table in a timely fashion. The waiter, a young inexperienced fellow, poured the red wine dripping it on the table cloth. We were not as annoyed at the waste as we were at the drippings on the table. We proceeded to order salads and were not advised that we had over ordered. When we placed the order for main dishes, again the waiter made no suggestion as to portion size. We ended up taking home two shopping bags filled with leftovers. Very unnecessary. We have been customers of Matteo's for many years and are accustomed to waiter's input as to how much food to order. When a restaurant serves food family style diners need guidance.
It’s a food staple when going to Boca. Excellent 5 stars
The very best restaurant in Boca, food, service all outstanding
Matteo’s is the best of everything.
It is our most favorite restaurant
Took some business associates to dinner and they recommended Matteo’s. We arrived early and got to chat with the hostesses, Bartenders, owners...pretty much the entire staff. I think we were the first people there that night. The entire staff was friendly and extremely accommodating. The place quickly filled up but they held our table for us even though one of our guests was late. The food was solid! Fettuccini Alfredo that was incredible and almost “light” if that’s possible! Meatballs and sausage were spot-on in Nonna’s Ragu. Chicken Milanese and Francese we’re both fresh and tasty. Finally - the flaky, light dessert - Neapolitan?? Was spectacular! I love this place - and I was raised in an Italian family that ran family restaurants. High quality, authentic, and a lot of “pretty” people a la South Florida. Forgot to mention that the service was solid. I’ll be back!
Birthday dinner , waiter Jason was great, food delicious lucky it wasn’t a crowded night there.
enjoyed service We did sit at the bar and it was not busy and it still took very long to receive cocktail, also they didnt have my mix for my drink.
Great food Just a fun spot for dinner with friends Highly recommended
Service was outstanding. Food was good, but not excellent. Eggplant was bitter.
Food was awesome. Service was also great
Are table was ready for us
Service was poor as no one came iover after 15 mins. Cm lemon chicken dried out and salmon tasted bland. Burnt broccoli very good.
Always a wonderful meal and experience at Matteo's. The noise level is a bit hard when trying to talk among yourselves, but that's because the place is always hopping with people. Try for a corner table instead of middle of restaurant. Service was impeccable and food delicious as always.
The hostess didn't realize she sat us at a table where the server's shift had just ended. The busboy brought plenty of bread and water but no server for 20 minutes. Gregory stepped-up and not only found out what went wrong but explained the situation to us and turned it around making our visit truly memorable and satisfying - THANK YOU GREGORY! It only takes one word to describe everything about Matteo's - AWESOME!
Moved from Miami where there is a Matteo's which is my favorite Italian Restaurant there. The Boca Matteo's is a bit different being slightly more upscale. The Noise level is high but so is the energy level. The food is excellent and I will wait for another two or three visits to decide if it is better or worse than the Hallendale location.
The food was ok—I’ve had better; I’ve had worse. But the service was not good. Maybe they were understaffed on a Sunday night after a busier Saturday night, and I have no idea how large our waiter’s station was...I do know that several of us had served ourselves before the waiter came to assist, I waited for water refills, and we waited for our check at the end.
Everything was great. Really the only problem was our server did not come back frequently enough to fill the water glasses. We were parched while eating our meals with empty water glasses.
Always fast, great service. And great food!
Overall excellent. Food was wonderful!
Birthday celebration and it was special!
Always reliable we bring all our out-of-town guest there can always count on a good meal at Matteo’s
