Featuring Chef Nobu Matsuhisa’s signature new-style Japanese cuisine, Matsuhisa Aspen is located within a historic Victorian house in downtown Aspen, CO. Indoor dining in Aspen will be temporarily closed per Pitkin County Board of Health starting on 1/17. Takeout is available nightly from 5:30 pm-9pm.

To ensure we are adhering to the health and safety guidelines, and to reopen as safely and responsibly as possible, we are requiring guests entering our premises to wear protective face masks.

Our family and friends love this restaurant. Great food really nice waiter I would of given over all a 5 star but the receptionist had a horrible attitude, in this scary time I came in to confirm and she acted like I was putting her out. She went to seat us I asked for a different table she just said no with no explanation. Again put out attitude. Others with me said the same without knowing what I thought. Great restaurant but that starts the experience off on the wrong foot.

Simply awesome and our server was great. She handled our “chef’s choice” with excellence and we loved the variety of samplings she recommended!! If we ever come back to aspen, we will for sure dine with you again!!

Mehai/Mihai is always excellent, Chef Tanaka=simply outstanding, the host/hostesses are friendly & accommodating even amongst impatient and demanding guests, Jimmy at the bar will make the perfect Lychee martini, and Sydney who will check your hat, coat, or precious fur has impeccable attention to detail. Best place in town. Can be a bit of a "scene" but it's Aspen! Quality is consistently 100%.

Our dinner at Matsuhisa was both delicious and fun. We took our waiters advice when they were out of the uni tempura and tried the phyllo tempura and it was beyond spectacular. Certainly not something we would be able to get at other asian restaurants. The fun came in the dessert - the shaved ice. Highly recommend!

As always, whether in Denver, Cherry Creek or Aspen, Matsuhisa delivers. Terrific first time experience at the Aspen location this Xmas season. Highly recommend Matsuhisa. Everything was perfect and the waiter new his stuff.

We had a reservation and unfortunately they were running behind so they sent us to the bar. We had a nice glass of champagne but the table was not ready for 30 minutes. When we were seated, there were 2 full glasses of champagne on the table waiting for us as an apology for the delay-a classy move on the part of the restaurant! Having eaten at Nobu and Matsuhisa Cherry Creek, our expectations for the food and service were high-and fully met! Everything was fresh and portions generous. The ambiance is a bit loud but the food makes up for that! Highly recommend (if you can get a Rez!).

Food is fabulous. On this visit we felt rushed. Waiter seemed too busy. We had to grab him to order more just to get a comment " last call to order" Felt this was rude. Felt rushed to get finished and get out. Kinda killed the evening.

Such an amazing experience! Get the yellowtail with jalapeño and the snapper with dry miso. Could have ordered two of those! Honestly for the quality of food (one of the best meals I’ve ever had) and the wine (we had the Matsuhisa red blend) it was such a great price. I thought our bill would be double. Definitely one of the best meals you’ll have in Aspen!

It was our first visit and the waiter helped us thru the menu. It was really, really good! The spinach shrimp and Parmesan salad was excellent. As was the black cod, Alaskan king crab ( grilled) and lobster/crab tacos. Finished it off with mochi cake with blackberry lavender ice cream.
