Matsuhisa's brand clearly values staff training as wait staff and sommelier were well prepared to answer our questions and describe our selections. The restaurant is pricey, but the food and service are outstanding.
So much fun to celebrate my birthday here! There were a couple things we knew we wanted but otherwise we let the waitress bring us sashimi and rolls and everything was amazing! Love their house sake too.
By far one of the finest dining experiences we have ever had! Everything was perfect, service was spot on. Just make sure you bring the card with the big balance on it, they are proud of their prices, and honestly, deserve to be. The food was fantastic!!
Everything about our dinner was perfect! the food was outstanding! Our server's suggestions were just what we wanted to hear. Will go as often as we can.
Delicious! Fun experience. You can't go wrong here!
We loved the restaurant. Food was amazing and the staff was super kind and helpful
We had an overall very positive experience. The reason for low rating on ambience was due to Covid.
This place is amazing! EVERYTHING was unique, delicious, and beautifully presented! This is a MUST when in Vail. We will definitely eat here EVERY time we are in town!!!!
The food was well prepared and served but the portions were soooo tiny. I don't think I have ever been served dishes with such little food. The prices were very expensive which is fine but I expect decent portion sizes!
My martini was tasty but very obvious there was little to no liquor in it.
The ambiance of the room looked like a hotel lobby rather than a high-class restaurant.
The quality & creativity of the food was outstanding. However, there are no menu descriptions so you don’t know what or how to order. It’s almost as if this restaurant is only for sushi connoisseurs. it was very intimidating/ uncomfortable. The service was good but felt rushed (early Monday evening, no wait). Extremely pricey ($30 for 1 sake!) for minimal amount of food. Never spent so much on a dinner that lasted a total of 45 minutes & left hungry!
Very cool restaurant with unbelievably great food.
Fantastic! Really really delicious. I’ve never had the cod lettuce wraps before and those are my new favorite thing! We always have such a wonderful meal every time we come here. Bravo!!
Excellent food, ambience and service but expensive
Never disappoints - sat outside - each table had a heat lamp which is really nice this time of year.
This is my fourth time here and I honestly don’t find the menu or items ordered ever that exciting or new. It leaves me wanting more from the experience.
It’s so hard to hear with the masks. I think the waiters should move thr
Absolutely love this restaurant in every location, especially Vail. The view of the village and mountains from the dining room is spectacular.
Food was great. Service started off slow, but got better. It was extremely disappointing that after letting you know that it was my husband's 40th birthday and having spent $1k in food, we were never offered dessert nor did he receive a complimentary dessert.
Excellent, our best dining experience in a long, long time!
Always an enjoyable experience dining at Matsuhisa. Comfortable environment and spectacular food.
Delicious food in a great atmosphere. So-so service
Love the tasting menu
Matsuhisa has adjusted well to social distancing needs and provides a great dining experience. We felt safe and were well taken care of by the excellent service. And the black truffle sea bass was off the charts good!
Absolutely the best sushi I’ve had - not cheap - but worth every penny
Beautiful food, great service, super!!!
Family dinner on vacation. While it was hard to hear in the restaurant the food was delicious and we enjoyed the house sake!
I requested desserts to be brought to table as a surprise for my daughter’s birthday. They called to confirm reservation and I again asked if they could accommodate my request and they said yes. We arrived and they knew nothing about it. My daughter casually went in as we were waiting to be seated and they announced the birthday dinner to her. So much for the surprise. Then the waitress announced she was bringing something to table. Nothing about our visit was a surprise for my daughter thanks to all of the staff. What a letdown.
Server was tremendous with great suggestions and recommendations to make this another great meal here.
Amazing food....amazing setting! My favorite place in the Vail / Beaver Creek area!
Excellent food! Best sushi I have had in a very long time!
Wonderful food, small portions w a hefty price tag- but delicious if you are looking for a treat
Having dined here numerous times with great food and service (twice in the past month before this unfortunate evening), I was excited to bring my first time visitors to Vail for an enjoyable dining experience. Unfortunately, this last visit left me very disappointed with the overall quality of the food and service. Due to the COVID issues I would give the service a slight pass, but it was poor to fair at best. The orders were incorrect or incomplete with long gaps between orders and then a rush to get us out. We were aware of the time limit and had no issues with it. But, when you have spotty service it makes the experience unenjoyable. The food was also off the mark in many ways. It was mediocre at best. The quality was just up to the usual standard that we have come to expect.
I am hoping this
Fantastic all around.
Absolutely fantastic all around. Kid friendly too. Food fabulous. Service outstanding. Went twice during our trip to vail. Highly recommend for all.
My husband and I love the food and wines here and during these times, the outdoor seating is a big plus. Service has always been impeccable. The last couple visits we’ve splurged for the omakase (chef’s choice) and have not been disappointed. It’s certainly one of more expensive places we eat in the Summit/Eagle area, but being big fans of sushi, we find it worthwhile for the occasional special treat.
Another fine dinner at this outstanding chain sushi house. (Our favorite.)
Good service and ambience. Food recommendations: Shishito peppers, mixed seafood ceviche, tuna tataki, lamb chops and yellowtail and okra roll
We will look forward to our next visit.
