Mateo was great per usual. Really good food and service. I had the Steak Frites and my wife had Lobster Raviolo. Both recommended.
Five of us had lunch and everyone enjoyed their choices, especially the new salad with grilled scallops calamari and shrimp. I’m looking forward to next time!
Delicious food and wonderful service. I will absolutely be returning and would recommend to anyone visiting Boulder.
Was hopeful to have an enjoyable brunch at this cute restaurant. The ambiance was pretty good. We actually sat on the patio. The table was tiny. Barely big enough to have a water glass and coffee cup with four people sitting at the table.
Food was below average; nothing special. I ordered the french toast and it dry and boring. Not worth the calories. One good thing was the coffee as it was a nice brand that I don't recall.
Would not go here again.
As always the food and service at Mateo was excellent. Drove up from Littleton for a Father's Day brunch that was a delight. Hannah (sp?) was terrific. Friendly, professional and engaging.
We had a great happy hour meal of the cheese plate, the mixte salad, "Moules and frites", mussels and French fries. Service was great, and as the restaurant filled, the nose level went from quiet to moderate by about 6:30.
Matteo never disappoints. Every time I go, I commit to exploring other places because there are so many options in Boulder. Still, if I want a lovely, quiet and consistently enjoyable dining experience, I know I can count on Mateo. Merci!
Our dining experience turned out to be quite good: good service, good food. Our first seating was by the front door and the noise level was too great for the conversations we were wanting, but the staff kindly moved us outside where we could talk more easily.
Good bartender, prices seem to have gone up
The service was awful. Our waiter barely opened her mouth. Literally! And when she did try to utter something, it was just a mumble. When she first came to our table, she just looked at me and my companion. A vague, glassy, slightly questioning stare. We gave her our order (she didn’t ask for it) and the food was terrific. Anyway, did she think she was imitating some quiet, elegant French aloofness? If so, she’s very bad at it. She came across as cold and mean. At one point I saw her talking animatedly with a co-worker. So I know she can talk, and with a bit of spirit even. So what in the world was she doing?
I really like Mateo. Good food, good atmosphere, good service. Definitely recommend for a friends dinner, business dinner, date night. And there’s free parking in back!!
Great place for brunch; food is great - always just as you ask for it to be done. Servers and staff are all very accommodating and knowledgeable. Can't go wrong at Mateo.
Eric was amazing at the bar.
Service and food were fine. The issue is that tables are absurdly small. We had a table for four and our glasses and plates didn’t fit on table. It was so small that plates hung over the edge into our laps.
The eggs Benedict was awesome, however my husbands croque madame was burned.
Absolutely wonderful Mother's Day experience. The food was incredible, the service prompt, courteous and friendly and the ambiance was perfect. We were there for the brunch. Best ever.
The cheese board and black & white for dessert were very good. The entrees were nicely put together, a bit underwhelming. Great cocktails. Overall pretty good.
Great food and ambiance.
A bit loud but food was amazing! Love that it isn’t on the mall. Easy in and out.
Great, attentive service. We enjoyed a long leisurely lunch and were not rushed. Food was delicious. Would highly recommend.
Great food , portion size , and service
Will definitely be back !!!
Enjoyed a nice breakfast on the patio with a crisp Rose’ wine. Service, food and wine were all excellent.
Everything was excellent and Cassie took great care of us. The only thing that miffed me was the online wine menu was hugely out of date. In reality prices on the night were close to 2x that of online :-(
We always love the quality and creativity of the food and cocktails. The ambiance in comfortable and inviting. Wonderful neighborhood French bistro feel!
Easter brunch was fabulous! Beignets and rose’ for the table to start, you can’t go wrong with that combo. Brioche French toast, eggs Benedict, and quiche were cooked to perfection. The French do brunch right! We sat outside on the sun dappled patio with just the right playlist playing in the background, we could have stayed all day:)
we enjoy the atomosphere and the room size, and the neighborhood feel of the place!
This place has been consistently great for years and I feel as if it’s only getting better.
Terrific food. LOVE the chicken. Great service, and nice for a pre-concert dinner.
Mateo has excellent bistro food and excellent service. The restroom situation is a bit weird, with only one operational genderless room at present, but
We assume this is temporary. In any case, we highly recommend this restaurant.
Disappointing. Overpriced lunch fare. Food looks much better written in the menu than when eaten. I guess location will keep them busy despite that.
Love this place
So disappointing. Years ago, we had a really great meal at Mateo and were really looking forward to returning. Wow - such a bad experience. One, our waitress was clearly stoned or otherwise vacant, and the food was just completely without taste or appeal. Definitely would not go back.
I got the poulet frites with the spicy ketchup and the black and white dessert. The food was really good and the service was great, everyone was very professional and nice. I highly recommend this restaurant.
Food was really good, our waiter seemed like he hated his job and us.
Brunch was lovely! Loved the eggs Benedict on brioche instead of the usual English muffin
Wonderful and festive anniversary lunch. Thanks so much for the champagne
In the mood
For super food?
This is the place
We were seated immediately and the restaurant was buzzing. While the food was very good and the service was great, it was VERY loud. Screaming at your dinner companions is never fun.
We thought we should mention that we were very disappointed about the limited brunch menu on The weekend. When making the reservation, we weren’t notified that the restaurant closed at 2:00 pm., or that the menu was limited. We would have chosen a different day and time had we known this info. Also, our server was nice but oddly quiet.
