Happy to be back there with a great meal experience. I have eaten there a number of times and last time was a bit of a falter, but this time more than made up for the issue. We were able to sit at a quite table and have a substantive meal and business discussion with excellent service.

Make sure you have a reservation on the weekend. Some patrons who had called ahead were frustrated with the wait as people with reservations bumped them. We waited about 15 minutes but were seated 5 minutes after our reservation time.

Had not been here for dinner & was a bit concerned with other reviews that described long wait times, even with Open Table reservations. It was a non-issue! We got there a couple of minutes early & saw numerous walk ups waiting for tables. The hostesses were friendly & helpful & seated us right away in a nice booth. Our server was quick to greet us & provided terrific service throughout the meal. We each had a martini, which was well made. Food was casual & tasty - meatball sandwich, chicken sandwich & half chicken dinner. The three of us in our party were very happy with our meals and with the whole experience. We will be back!

Super fast and friendly service. On a busy Sat night I was expecting a wait even with a reservation, but we got right in, ordered and had our food before I could even think about it. All our servers were great, checking on us frequently. Short ribs and baby backs came out just right and the corn bread topped it off. Great experience all around.

The staff was incredibly friendly and quick on the service. Never had a need to track a server down. Food came out promptly. It was a perfect setting and ambiance us having a get together with a group of 8.

They had a mouse running around the dining area and did not seem to care when we told them.

First time here and sat at table top near bar. Very good service. Happy hour included discount drinks, appetizers and small pizzas. Server was knowledgeable on all items and attentive to my needs. Chesapeake wings were good but could use more seasoning. Crispy Calamari was good. They offer several small pizzas and you are able to split toppings to try 2. The mushroom white pizza with caramelized onions was fantastic!

The matchbox-Merrifield kitchen was definitely having an off nite. They just could NOT cook a medium burger. Three tries (yes three!) were needed to see if they could provide a burger that was more than near raw. The management was concerned, too. Thanks for the great care.

Normally a go to for us - but the kitchen forgot our grandmother's meal. Twice. We will return but it would have been nice if someone acknowledged the issue. We had a table of 11

Usually love the food at Matchbox. Had the hot salmon dish with potatoes and leeks. Was very salty and the sauce was watery. Please put back your previous hot salmon entrees.

Although the short ribs were tasty, there were only 2 pieces (for $25) and more fat than meat. Salmon was delicious. Chicken sandwich was disappointing - chicken was very, very flat and over fried. Drinks were yummy.

My husband and I enjoyed our evening out at Matchbox. Our server was friendly, knowledgeable about the menu and offered his recommendations. In addition, he made sure we made it to our movie with time to spare.

Still had to wait despite having a reservation. Food wasn't anything to write home about, aside from my awfully undercooked burger. Management was apologetic and comped the meal along with a dessert, which was also mediocre. Happy birthday to me 😒

Had a great lunch there with my friend. Delicious salad and the fig prosciutto pizza is amazing. David gave us excellent service. He even switched my wine for me when I didn't enjoy the taste of the draft Chardonnay. I tasted the draft tempranillo, which was also not good, but my friend liked it. They brought me out another Chardonnay and it was equally sub-par but I drank it. I would go back and just be more careful about my wine choice - great place though :)

We had the fire-roasted veggie pizza. The only thing you could taste were the peppers. It was so terribly hot that it was uncomfortable. Probably one of the worst pizzas I ever had.

We had a group of 8 for my husband's birthday. I know large groups are harder, but we were trying to be accommodating. Our server seemed to be struggling to hear us, and we were definitely struggling to hear him which led to lots of misunderstandings and about 4 attempts at getting the check correct. Overall, we were just left with the impression that he was not at his best that night.

I ordered a salmon salad and 90% of the salad was greens. I literally was looking for cherry tomatoes and asparagus in that bush. Salmon was ok nothing unusual. Homemade is so much better. Dissaponted. The only thing is ok in that restaurant is chicken pesto pizza and maybe it's because it swims in olive oil?! Overall: 😏

Food was ok...expensive for the amount of salad ordered. Waiter very inattentive and not quick to respond..literally slid two glasses onyo the table with a bang. Very loud...asked for a quiet booth and were shown to a table right on the aisle and next to another small table..having been there before I knew there were other booths available...esp. since I reserved on Open Table and specified a quiet booth

This place is loud! Our food was excellent and everything that passed us looked good too. The service was very friendly and efficient. However, if you are there during peak times, which is often, you can barely hear yourself think. We were seated near the kitchen, which is quite open and heard constant clanking of dishes and all the other natural kitchen noise. There are about a billion staff which made service good but sense of constant activity next to you. However, I'm not sure sitting in the back was worse than being out front which was fillled with equally loud crowd noise. It made for an atmosphere that was not conducive to having any type of normal conversation.

Our server could have been better. He might have stopped by every 5 minutes asking if we were ready to order. Typically when you have a group, you let them catch up before everyone is ready to order. He just seemed like he wanted to get us in and out. The restaurant was not full and we were there at 11am. We had 2 babies in the party and no evidence that the restaurant was going to fill up. Someone from the staff (manager?) came up to us and said if they seat the table next to us, that we would have to move the stroller. It just seemed like they went out of their way to say it was an inconvenience even though the restaurant wasn't even 25% full. By the time we left, the restaurant was still pretty empty.

The bloody beer is always good. However, I ordered a Ty Chopped Salad and it wasn't bad, but it also wasn't great. However, this worked out well for our get together because we didn't have to wait for a table and it wasn't so crowded that we were felt like we were a disturbance.

Enjoyed our food but the noise level when we first arrived was deafening. Could see they were finishing up so we just decided to wait it out. After the loud group left we enjoyed the dinner much more. Not a place for a quiet dinner but fun and entergetic. Known for the sliders and did not fail on the taste and quality.
