The atmosphere was very relaxing. Our server gave us great recommendations which did not disappoint. The sliders with onion straws, the meatball pizza and the Honey Pot Punch drink were amazing. Will definitely have another lunch date there.
Service was terrible and the menu was overpriced for what you get. $20 for a glass of wine?! I would pay that at a high end restaurant but Matchbox does not qualify as that. Service was terrible, no drink refills, never picked up the appetizer or brought plates for us to eat it on, and we had to ask someone else for the check. Won't be back.
food is good, not spectacular, but good, portions are reasonably sized and there is something for everyone on the menu. Tables are packed a little too close to each other, so you usually have waiter's backside next to your plate as he or she is talking to the neighbors at the next table, but that's just life, right?
best pizza in town//////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
The experience was good. The waitress forgot to put to include my daughter’s order along the other 4-5 entrees. When she realized the mistake, she quickly apologized and brought french fries for my daughter and ask the cook to quickly make the order. At the end, we were not charged for that dish. The waitress was nice and the manager, too.
While the food is always on point, the service was terrible. We had to flag down someone just to get water and drink order in, and then waited again for it to arrive. Then getting our actual waiter to come to the table was like pulling teeth. The food came out very slowly, and then we had to nearly yell for the waiter to look our way to get boxes and our check. So disappointing as the service is usually spot on.
The good new about Matchbox its that they are consistent, from one Matchbox to the next. That said, I had a blackened chicken Caesar salad that was average at best. The chicken was good but the Caesar dressing was average an they used too much. Also, I was there for a Sunday brunch and there was none of the traditional brunch menu items, such as eggs Benedict or waffles, available.
A consistently enjoyable place for good pizza, drinks and service
Food was barely OK...noise level was off the charts...service was marginal. Overall, would not recommend.
Margarita Pizza was terrible- I make much better pizzas at home. Bland, Bland, Bland.
$17 for a glass of wine is very high.
The food is very good, service is excellent (the service is efficient, professional, and friendly), and the ambiance is great.
If you are expecting fine dining, you may be disappointed but the food here is generally very enjoyable. The crab & avo and the mini burgers are great appetizers.
Our party of 3 enjoyed the pizzas (thin crusted); however the soup of the day special (Vegetable Minestrone) was very bland. The decor in the back part of the restaurant resembles a pizza owen. If I am in the area again, I would return to experience the full dinner menu.
Amazing service from Stephen, wonderfully delicious unlimited brunch. However, we wish the new limited pizzas were available with the unlimited brunch as well.
Fun place. Great food. Interesting variety of menu choices.
I had a great time we had the unlimited brunch which was excellent. Me and my coworkers all tried different drinks that they had on the menu which were all excellent our server Hymie was great he had a sign up for the new reward system and we also did surveys on him he was very attentive he notified us when lunch was going to end so we can get a few more drinks he brought his water he laughed and joked with us which was great will have the overall experience and we’re talking about coming back next week but with a bigger group.
We’ve been to Matchbox several times, but this time, the service was horrendous. Maybe because it was a Sunday afternoon, but we waited over half an hour for our food to arrive. Several people in our group ordered the brunch menu, and had to wait 25 to 30 minutes between plates, which were served at room temp and not hot. Very disappointing.
GREAT tuna taco appetizers and pizzas always good. Great place before/after movie next door.
I've always liked matchbox but it was not at all what I expected for a Sunday brunch. There were no tradition or even interesting takes on standard bruch items. It turned out that one orders lots of different what I guess would be small plates for a price of $35. No eggs benedict, no omelets to order. Would require a large number of orders to even warrant the price so we had to switch to the lunch menu. Will never do bruch there again.
Our server Liz was perfect - helpful, unobtrusive unless we needed something, and gave us the best tips on selections! We ate outside.
Our meal was good, although it was disappointing that so many things were extras and a bit high-priced. Service was good.
Had reservation. Place empty yet we were seated in the kitchen . No plan
to ever ever return.
Our appetizer took an extremely long time to arrive. It took awhile for us to get our drinks from the bar and we were done with those before the appetizer arrived. The restaurant was not extremely busy to take 30+ minutes for a small appetizer.
This was my second time at this restaurant. While the entree descriptions sound appealing, the food is very mediocre for the price. I paid $21 for a small serving of spaghetti with one large meatball. I had to ask the server for more sauce since there was barely a 1/8 cup of sauce. Pasta and meat were very bland. Hardly worth $21. The side salad — which would have arrived halfway thru my meal so I cancelled it — was extra (not even included).
Sangria was watered down. Removed fall like drinks & ingredients from the menu so couldn’t order bourbon crisp or southern charmer. Two different servers gave different descriptions of the salmon sides dish. Matchbox expanding too much that the quality of the food & service is suffering.
Do not waste your money at Matchbox. I chose this place for my birthday brunch and I regret it significantly. There is a bottomless brunch option, but if one person wants it, the whole table needs to order it. Therefore, we all ordered the bottomless brunch. The cinnamon rolls, pesto chicken pizza and sliders were good. However, almost everything else we got was not good. The avocado toast came on a burnt bread and had red pepper flakes (not listed on the menu). The chilaquiles were not even close to being that dish. It was a small bowl of tortilla chips with a light drizzle of queso and some pico de gallo. There was no salsa, which is what makes Chilaquiles, that they are covered in a sauce, these were not. The yogurt parfait was just a bowl of yogurt with two strawberries and a little crumble. The definition of a parfait is that it is layered, this was far from that. The scramble was not bad, but they did not listen to my request of no sausage so I could eat very little. My daughter ordered from the kids menu and the kids pasta was spicy (again, the red pepper flakes not noted on the menu)
The service was as terrible as the food quality. Our waiter rarely came to our table to ask if we wanted additional items or if our food was to our liking. There were a few things I wanted to try that I never got a chance because the server was never around and food took forever to come to our table. If we had gone at the height of brunch hour I would understand the slow service but we were there ate 10:30 am and the place was empty.
We did not get our money's worth! I feel terrible that my mother in law spent as much as she did for such a terrible meal and experience. I do not recommend this at ALL.
Andre, our server, provided great food and drink recommendations.
Took parents there for brunch, all entries were very good. However we were disappointed with the new unlimited brunch menu, we did feel it was that great of a value. Therefor, we ordered lunch meals. We preferred the old brunch menu where you could order individual brunch items.
The food was superb and the service was excellent. It's our favorite pizza!
Noticeably smaller portions, but same prices as in past on mini burgers (smaller burgers) and pizza. Still great food, and they didn’t shrink my drink.
Our waiter didn't bring the bread that we requested until after our meals were on the table and we followed up. He also brought the wrong salad out, didn't apologize or hurry to get the correct one (which needed nothing to be cooked) back out to us. I was almost done with my pizza by the time my friend got her Apple and Pear salad. We asked for our bill and finally got up and went to the hostess stand because he didn't come back soon enough.
Finding parking can be difficult. The food was good. Cocktails were good.
Was happy that our table was in the back (near the rest room) to get away from the crowded noise. Come to find out, a party of about 40-50 ppl were seated next to us and it took a while to get the waiters attention because several staff was catering to the party. Had to ask for the check twice. Also, food was great except swordfish and sides were very salty. Waiter brought out new sides to make up for salty food.
Food and drinks arrived late
Table was ready when we arrived, service was quick and friendly and food was delicious. Went at lunch time on a Friday and restaurant was busy, but not obnoxiously loud. Would definitely recommend!
Ordered 2 of the 1/2 roasted chicken. Both were so under cooked there was even blood on the plates, under the veggies, everywhere. We sent them back to the kitchen. The waiter came back & told us the manager said that is normal! I mean the meat was even still rubbery. NI it is not. After a long time the brought more that this time was so overcooked it had holes clear through the thigh that you could see through. Terrible. Spent WAY to long getting terrible food. And they didn’t even offer to adjust the bill or do anything else about it. Except try to tell us that is how you cook chicken.
The pizza was not as good as usual and had to be sent back once because it was wrong. The waiter was slow. And the ambiance was unpleasant - loud, crowded and chaotic. To be fair, we sat outside thinking it would be quieter (inside is always noisy). It was movie night at Mosaic and it was a loud movie but we should have been warned about it. All in all not a pleasant experience.
I take my autistic son here regularly as all the staff are very welcoming and friendly. It is one of the few restaurants where he is totally comfortable and there are no surprises (his favorite table is always available with our reservation and the food is consistently excellent and the waiters, esp Paul and Jaime, remember exactly what food he likes and how they are done !!) Grateful to all the staff who make our regular weekend lunch date an awesome experience!
Great brunch and great service !!
Best pizza sausage and sauce.
Pear salad w/walnuts and blue cheese and terrific vinaigrette dressing
