Waited half hour for 10pm reservation and waitress forgot to bring our entree
Always amazing. Food, ambiance, overall experience.
Staff was very friendly and accommodating, even during a very busy weekend.
Muy bueno el restaurant buena comida y buen ambiente
Several weeks after making a reservation for dinner for 4 I received a phone call from the restaurant requesting a deposit due to the busy season. I found this unusual since it was not requested at the time of booking. Then several weeks after that, I received another call from the restaurant that we would have to sit outdoors due to the interior having been rented out for a large group. When my friends and I arrived at the restaurant it was not that busy. The overall experience left me with a pretentious feeling. The food was good but not particularly memorable. Based on the overall experience I would not return.
Menu was small, only few selection but the Food were YUMMY!
Dishes were simple but taste very good
Considering the restaurant was in a hotel we thought it would be more expensive but priced just right!!
We would go back again!!
This was the worst experience we have ever had at matador after going for 5 years. The service and even management has gone down hill. Better places to go on the beach.
The food was great but not impeccable like other JG’s restaurants. The room is beautiful, the service was good but it lacks perfect timing. Cocktails came once dishes were coming out. It was great but not memorable.
A very splendid Thanksgiving menu and treat it was...
Food was amazing, nice people around! Overall great experience.
Very great service and good food!
Was looking forward to this meal given the pedigree but left highly disappointed. Half the dishes were based on the same sauce, which incidentally was not that great - found it very lazy. The sea bass itself was delicious but again in the same sauce as the shrimp, etc. The live music sounded great but was clashing against the music in the restaurant and together very hard on the ears. Unimpressive.
Mediocre service, including never brought certain ordered dishes, yet check included those dishes even after informed server.
Food was exceptional - Sea Bass was the best, tuna tartare was exceptional and even the Brussel sprouts were delicious
Wait staff (Rocos) was friendly and attentive without being intrusive.
Overall a great dining experience
Great service. Outside area is very nice, however stay in the part without covering to be away from the cigar smoke.
I don’t feel comfortable living a credit card for a reservation! I was there many times and the place never was full. If you don not change this new complication you will lose many costumers like me
Unfortunately not impressed with the food . Cold mash potatoes, weak drinks , ok interpretation of the Latin American cuisine the chef aspire to portray when opening this spot . Flavors are flat and expected . Nothing was exciting except the band jamming amazing music by the bar .
Jean GEORGES can and must do better at this price range of an experience of this level . Hotel ambience and locale is great but the food has to live up to the level it promises
Food was delicious, service was outstanding!
Absolutely perfect! We tried the 5 course tapas style dinner and it was fantastic! Wait staff was extremely attentive.
Get the stone crab claws
Sit in maja’s section
Terrible service. Waiter was rude, dismissive, and said he was not going to be happy until his shift was over.
Can’t wait to go back! Great service and great food.
I will recommend Matador Room! We had a great experience, the food, the ambience... we enjoyed it a lot!!!
we had to constantly seek the server. prices do not justify service or food quality. would not recommend
One of our favorite places in Miami. Service is always gracious, the are hosts welcoming (now with a procescco - thank you). The arroz con pollo is a must, most dishes are really good. The wine list is very nice too. The restaurant is beautiful and has a great ambience. The only issue we had this time is always a mystery. We ordered the pizza the first go around, ate many dishes and ordered a second round of dishes and pretty much finished them all when finally the pizza arrived. WHY!
Other then that - a great night out - thank you/
Spent the weekend in Brickell, Miami for my girlfriend’s birthday. We wanted to go to the beach Saturday and thought Matador Room would be a great place for lunch while there. I sent a note to the restaurant via Open Table letting them know that it was a bday and asked if we could get a piece of chocolate mousse or tres leches with a candle (which we got at every place that weekend without a reminder).
When we got to Matador, the hostess wished my gf happy birthday which means they received my request. However, no one brought it up until we left. I could have asked the waiter for a piece of cake, but after having such terrible food, I did not even dare asking. Which brings me to the food itself.
We ordered the following:
sweet pea guacamole which tasted like sweet pea puree. The central flavor of guacamole is avocado so you cannot have anything overpowering the avocado taste. The tortilla chips tasted like cheap ones. For a restaurant of this caliber, perhaps making chips in house or making plantain chips would make more sense.
salad with salmon which was ok and not impressive at all for the price.
Charred octopus which did not taste fresh or like anything as a matter of fact.
Avocado pizza was basically baked pizza crust, sliced avocados on top and lots of oil was poured on top of the pizza (not from the cheese because there was none) which was not needed at all. Oil was literally dripping through the to-go box.
We barely ate any of the food and threw away the boxed leftovers as I did not feel comfortable even giving it away.
I would not recommend this place to anyone. Had way better food at La Mar, Byblos, Area 31 (Epic Hotel), Addikt (W hotel) and basically paid less or around the same at all these places for more food and great flavors!
Very nice place and excellent food! You have many things to taste. Always a pleasure.
Good not great. Paper placemats cheap. Serving sides long before mains arrive, scattered service. JGV should be far better
The appetizers were outstanding as was the ambiance. We had 4 different ones. The black seabass was dull but I will return for more choices.
Se sorprendió la cantidad de alimento del tasting Menu para el valor muy buenas elecciones y muchos alimentos buenisimos yo hubiera quitado la
Had a great time great food and the waitress was knowledgeable about the food and had wonderful recommendations
Have been to your place every time we are in the area and will not come
back. Really disappointing not sure what happened!!
Food was really delicious!
Great service too!
GREAT PLACE, NICE HOTEL , VALET PARKING IS NICE AND THE HOTEL SMELLS AMAZING
Great food. Been here a few times on trips and never disappoints.
Had their pre fixe menu and it was AMAZING! The food was beyond expectation. Highly recommend.
The Matador Room at the Miami Edition is always a solid choice. Excellent food and top notch service.
Really sloppy for a Jean Georges restaurant. They brought incorrect dishes. Didn't time them well.
Have eaten here many times and was embarrassed by the level of service for a business meeting.
For $600+ it was really disappointing.
