Delicious tapas and great drinks made it a special birthday celebration!
I've had good experiences here previously but this last time was a fail. The chicken in my enchilada was rubbery and tasted microwaved. My husband commented his chicken was an odd texture as well. When I commented to the waitress she said she "wished there was something she could do about it" and walked away. Honestly, I was stunned by this response. There was no asking if I'd like something else, or if she could send it back, etc. Because we had to be somewhere, and it was late, I didn't cause a fuss and didn't want to wait for another meal to be made so I dropped it. I just won't be returning!
The restaurant was extremely HOT and uncomfortable. The ac must have been broken.... We came for the seafood paella. Sadly, they must have changed the recipe. No lobster or langostinos any more! The new recipe was okay but not worth another trip. Guess I’ll be looking for another restaurant that serves seafood paella.
We had tapas too. Those were very good. But the place was so hot and muggy, it was really uncomfortable.
Roast suckling pig and Sangria were amazing! Matador can be inconsistent, but this night everything, including service and our outside table, were perfect!
Guacamole was excellent done at tableside but chips were too salty. Octopus in octopus appetizer was too fatty. Crab cake appetizer was delicious. Chicken quesadilla was good but much smaller than last time I had it. Was first introduced to Liquor 43 at Matadors but they didn't have any for my drink. Last time I was there I wanted to try a port and they didn't have any. I really like the restaurant but it seems to be slipping.
Food did not have much flavor and was underseasoned. The spinach was drowned in butter. The menu is diverse but nothing is done well. Disappointing
They ran out of pulled pork on a Saturday evening at 5pm. Waitress was nowhere to be found after our food was delivered to our table!
Nice neighborhood place to go.
Meridith was excellent
Went for tapas and a drink with a coworker. Was overall disappointed in the food (Fairly oily, odd portion sizes, dry chicken) as well as the fact that their happy hour online does not match what is offered in person. Other than that, the server was nice and sitting outdoors was a good experience.
Solid drinks, portions a bit small, but tasty.
Nice place but a bit overpriced for what we ordered.
It was the perfect place for a lovely mother’s day brunch. The food was excellent and service very friendly.
Brunch was not good. Presentation and quality of the food questionable. Fully staffed yet only saw server a few times.
We ate on Saturday so may have been busier because of Mother’s Day weekend. Very slow my husband ordered a burrito and daughter had chicken fingers n fries. Their food came and daughters dessert before my shrimp fajitas. Once food came was very good. Just timing was horrible.
Great food. Friendly service. It was a little loud and could not hear people talking to you.
This was a great dining place for us dine on out 12th Anniversary.
The tapas, wine, wait service and overall ambiance suited our tastes.
The food was as we expected, and the ambience was very nice. But the service was simply dreadful, from mistaken orders (at many tables!) to incredibly slow response. A frustrating experience.
The food and margaritas are always delicious. It was a quiet Monday night. It's a bit glarey upstairs. It's the best Mexican restaurant on the Main Line.
It was disappointing that Matador got rid of the majority of their Tapas items. I was the best part of the place
Absolutely terrible, Unattentive service
Great service, great food.
We dined the night of a Villanova basketball game and Saturday before St. Patrick's day so it was likely more rowdy than a typical Saturday dinner. We enjoyed the meal and decor very much.
Excellent food and service. Very cool dining room and setting. Overall good place to grab a meal and not over priced. Get the key lime pie - awesome!
My date and I visited Matador on a Sunday evening. We were the only two people in the dining area upstairs. Needless to say, the noise level was low. The staff were friendly and accommodating. Overall, the food was good - basic Spanish cuisine. I had the fish tacos that came with a bed of rice and black beans. The food was well seasoned. The fried fish tacos put me in the mindset of eating fish sticks for some reason. I would recommend this as a nice place to grab a quick bite to eat and chat over a meal. You will leave feeling satisfied.
My husband and I visited this restaurant for the first time earlier this week and enjoyed a great experience there. The potato brava and Garbanzos con Espinacas Tapas we ordered were very delicious. We also had the vegetarian paella which looked and was very appetizing. The service was quick and the waiter was very friendly and knowledgable about the menu and guided our selections as we are vegetarians - his suggestions turned out to be great! I felt the items were a bit overpriced but we do plan to go there again despite the prices!
Enjoyed a delicious lunch. Great food. Excellent, cheerful, knowledgeable service. Pleasant environment. Easy nearby parking. Looking forward to my next visit.
Went for Valentines Day. Food came out very slowly and overdone. What we had wasn’t very flavorful and told the server we weren’t interested in the rest of the meal. Just paid for what we had.
We never got our first course, and main course and drinks took 45 minutes.
the food was so good and the staff is very nice
They served me RAW chicken. They said they would bring a new one and never did. We asked our server for refills on drinks and more bread (we never got chips so we kept asking for break to dip....also we were hungry because they took our raw chicken away and never replaced it) our meal was still $60 and we left very hungry. We left there and had to have a second dinner. Awful experience.
Food was mixed - 1 dish was perfect, 1 was so-so. Entrees were not ready at the same time....one came out 10 minutes before the other. Service was very slow - getting the bill stretched out for 20 minutes. Overall, I don't think I'll be back.
bref passer votre chemin
Loved the ambiance and decor and the food was really yummy!
Slow Monday, but excellent attentive service. Food was delicious and table-side guacamole great.
This is our second time here and our first experience was better than this one. Our waitress was not very attentive to our table. Several times we needed something and she was difficult to find. It was not that she was busy....the restaurant was very quiet that evening.
Also the food was not a good as I remember. Many of the dishes were extremely salty.
Great food and great dining atmosphere! Wife and I shared an entree and ordered a few small plates, absolutely filling and delicious
Awesome meal and great service. Our waiter was patient and really helpful with the tapas choices and the tecquila was excellent.
Food was great, incredible tequila menu. Diablo margarita had a perfect amount of kick, and the food was all well balanced and seasoned. Servers were friendly and efficient. All in all, a great meal!
My wife and I stopped by for an off night date. We like the tapas style dining as we don’t need to pick an entree and can simply eat a variety of foods in smaller portions. Our waiter was exceptional!
