Service was slow and inconsistent. Understandable since they reopened but still noticeable.
The food was spectacular! I am now obsessed with the calamari. Drinks were great! Our server was beyond amazing!
We all agreed it was the BEST sushi we’ve had in Portland!
Love this place! Great sushi and drinks. Restaurant is set up perfectly for social distancing.
It was my dad's birthday, and the first time the family had gone out since COVID-19. It was amazingly delicious, the staff was right on, and it is an amazing place to be! Thanks!
Great to be back to amazing sushi! It was a good as I remember. Looking forward to keep supporting them!
Masu is one of my families favorite special occasion restaurants in Portland. It’s fine dining without the pretentious vibe. The food is truly worth the price and the sushi is amazing.
Masu never disappoints with its amazing sushi!! Great Father’s Day dinner !!
Great sushi although they appear to have raised their prices. $18 for an 8 piece roll is rather high. Don’t get me wrong, the sushi was delicious as usual, but the expense is high especially in these times and will certainly impact how often we return. We used to be regulars at this restaurant as it is very close by however they should consider moderating their prices to a more reasonable amount given the economic hardships faced by patrons.
This is one of our favorite restaurants in Portland. The first one we ever went to when we first arrived 12 years ago and still a family favorite. Great food, changing menu and very knowledgeable staff. Definitely recommend going. Please support them during this Corona crisis - I believe they are doing home delivery.
Some of the best sushi I’ve ever had. Just fantastic. We went on a Tuesday so there wasn’t a crowd and we got great service. It was easy to drop $150 for two people, so watch yourself, we placed three orders!
Excellent all the way around. One of our favorite restaurants in Portland!
Fantastic service and food! Even allowed me to change my reservation time for a party of 12 the day before, and the server was fantastic. Super impressed every time I come to this place.
Great food and very nice service. A little pricey but worth the investment.
Consistently amazing food!
If you are not familiar with Japanese cuisine, I would recommend you stick to just the sushi. I took a risk and ordered the cod. I don’t want to call the restaurant out but let me just say I was dissatisfied with my meal; indeed it was inedible. It was so bad that I do not think I will return.
I have already verbally recommended this gem. Really pleased with the setting of the restaurant and they were extremely helpful when accommodating to dietary restrictions and provided awesome options (gluten free). Can't wait to go again!
Great food and ambiance. It was a quiet Monday evening (so nice they're open on Monday!). Everyone was cordial and helpful, just didn't check on us quite frequently enough.
We’ve been before and this experience was subpar. The miso was too salty and not hot enough. All the food came at once rather than spacing appetizers and then entrees. It took forever for the drinks to come after food arrived. Generally disappointing.
A bit pricey for some items... But very good! Will go back because of quality of food and wonderful service.
Nice out of the way place with an intimate setting. Sushi was good but nothing overly special.
Food in fantastic, Service very knowledgable and had fantastic suggestions. Can't wait to go back.
Very fresh and delicious sushi! Great sake choices -- would return again on next visit to Portland
Death by sushi dish is awesome
Just the best mix of tradition and innovation with an incredible sake list!
Sat at the bar. The bartender was great as were the food and drinks. Cool place to have dinner.
Love this place but service this time was slow and spotty.
Wonderful service, some items were excellent (fried rice, Lotus roll) others were just ok. Portions were SMALL for the price and we frequently visit high end restaurants.
Maybe my favorite Sushi Restaurant in Portland. It is the place I go back to the most. There is a nice mix of fresh options. Still love the unagi. And the Japonica warm but not over the top. Waitress this visit patiently reviewed all the specials., and it was full house. There must have been 20 hand written fish options.
Great food. Great service. Nice ambience. A bit pricey maybe?
Few diners for lunch and only one server. The server was pleasant and tried her best but it was too much for one person.
Long delay for hot tea. When it arrived it was nothing more than hot water with leftover tea leaves from another time. The hot water/tea cost $3 per person.
Sushi was well presented but lacking overall taste and freshness. The kale salad was a disappointment in terms of visual appeal and flavor. For what we paid, wanted the whole experience to be so much more but it just never happened.
Excellent dinner sitting at the sushi counter - delicious sushi, nice chat with sushi chef, romantic ambience. Highly recommend!
Awesome Sushi. Sushi bar is the place to be!
Great rolls and very good, efficient service easily makes this my top sushi restaurant in Portland! The Nemo roll is an extraordinary blend of flavors, and is probably both mine, and my wife's favorite all time roll. Try it out next time you are there!!!!
Great place! Had a first date there and they were very accommodating, but did a great job of giving us space to have conversation. The food was outstanding along with the service and the atmosphere. We will definitely be back in the future.
Amazing food, great location, friendly staff all with a terrific ambiance.
The service from the waiter was horrible. Took forever for her to take outlet drink order and even longer to bring it. I was halfway done with my meal before I got my wine.
We had our first date here and every year we always come back for our anniversary and sometimes a date night
