Masseria dei Vini
Restauranteur Pino Coladonato, Peppe Iuele and Enzo Ruggiero have teamed up again with Interior Designer Libby Langdon, bringing you a modern update version of "Masseria". In the region of Puglia, in South Italy, Masseria were Fortified Farmhouses, and many of them now have been transformed into Restaurants or Hotels.
Executive Chef Pino Coladonato, native of Rutigliano (Bari), has created a menu that blends traditional with modern without overpowering one or the other.
The Menu features typical dishes from Puglia, such as "Crudo", the Italian word for "Raw", made with fish and shellfish, a lot of fresh homemade pastas and Ravioli.
The menu also offers Gourmet Pizza Neapolitan style.
The Restaurant offers an extensive wine by the glass program and a large selection of wine bottles, mainly from Italy, but without ignoring the rest of the world.
Masseria dei Vini should be so much better than it is. They clearly have deep pockets and have built a beautiful, calm space with plenty of space between the tables. The wine list is very good, although the knowledge of the list seemed to be spotty among the staff the night we went. Our meals were not very good and the service was quite officious. The pasta was ill-conceived and lacked a balance of flavor. The special (a veal chop) was decent but was served with terribly overcooked vegetables. Overall Masseria needs to review its kitchen and its staffing to be at the level that it has potential to achieve.
Birthday celebration for our son. Simply the best Italian food in NYC.
Wonderful dining and a cozy neighborhood atmosphere
Wonderful dining experience. The service was excellent. The food delicious. And the ambiance spot on. We also enjoyed a post dinner drink at the bar. Amazing evening.
Very good food, a little noisy
We had a lovely lunch with two dear friends. The restaurant was nicely decorated for Christmas and was very attractive with white tablecloths. The service was very attentive. The menu was extensive with several additional specials. The portion sizes were very large. Highly recommended!
The menu is very extensive. I especially liked the triangle pasta and the raviolis with veal and wild mushroom sauce. The tiramisu was the best I have had.
Masseria dei Vini serves delicious, authentic Italian food in a handsome setting. The restaurant itself is understated, the way most serious Italian ristoranti are in Italy. Surroundings are comfortable, the staff is knowledgeable and attentive, and the food very tasty. The wine list is also good, and there are good options for wines by the glass. This is also one of the best restaurants in its neighborhood.
Had a wonderful PRE- OPERA dinner with very excellent service to get us on time to the Met Opera.
The food was cooked perfectly and we enjoyed watching the pizza preparations across from us.
Specialty pizzas are just a small part of this lovely Italian restaurant that has a full sophisticated Itialian menu at fair prices.
Wonderful appetizers and pizzas. Great homemade pastas. Good but not special dinner plates.
Waiter was okay, not friendly but efficient.
Always amazing staff and attentiveness every time I dine here. I love it!
great gnocchi (better than origina La Masserial!), ravioli, bone in pork Milanese. extenxive, reasonable wine list. outstanding service
Great dinner here as usual.
Outside as usual!
I love this place. The menu is very authentic and not typically. Always lots of choices. And delicious.
We went after Met matinee. We were a group of 5 foodie people and all of us loved our dishes. We tried both pizza and home made pasta, everything was delicious. We will go back.
What a great meal and service. Marco our server was on point all night.
Great location on 8th Ave. Very friendly and knowledgeable wait staff. Excellent wine list. Truly outstanding food at very reasonable prices. A superb choice for early dinner then leisurely walk to theater.
I think you guys should put some music during the dinners... the most of the time I was listening another people conversation.
Amazing Chianti wine, and the chicken special with prosciutto was delicious. The ravioli was amazing too
I find this to be B excellent place for business lunches. Table are good sized and not crammed together. The service does not intrude but is prompt. The food is reliably good.
Outstanding food, attractive decor and lighting. Attentive and friendly service.
The restaurant is nice with a lovely bar area. I thought the food was good but not great. I had the beef carpaccio for starter and the seafood risotto for my entree. My date had the calamari fritti and a pizza margarita for her entree. She enjoyed them both immensely. The carpaccio was wonderful and my risotto was very good but both plates were okay on the appearance scale. They weren't ugly but for the price, I felt they could have been on a different level, both the way they were plated and the taste. Our server was great but the side staff could've been more genuinely interested in our dining experience.
Food very good, but not quite excellent. Strong menu and wine list. Nice ambiance. Excellent service.
The gnoccihi is one of the best things I've ever eaten.
Great food and service. Truffle pizza was superb.
We had a wonderful pre concert meal at Masseria de Vini. The service was outstanding and attentive. We were able to get to our event in plenty of time without feeling rushed. The restaurant was also able to accommodate a last minute addition to our party with no minimal fuss. The food was all delicious. The pasta dishes were perfectly cooked and the pork chop entree was outstanding. Desserts were excellent especially the cheesecake.
Everyone in our party enjoyed their meal and I would highly recommend this restaurant.
fabulous ! great atmosphere, service & food was delish
EXCELLENT. I would totally recommend and I will definitely be back.
Service excellent food outstanding
Excellent food and service.10/10 would recommend
Excellent food and service. Our server was amazing.
An extremely pleasant environment and a pretty dining room. The food is not bad - but nothing distinguished nor particularly memorable... and the prices are not low...
Beautiful venue, efficient staff, delicious food.
Bland food - desserts were bland too.
Great food and helpful service.
I've only eaten here once so I hesitate to give five stars, but everything on our table was absolutely delicious, a little unusual in a homey way (like tender lentils in olive oil to accompany the excellent bread basket), and accompanied by prompt, professional, knowledgeable and caring service. My lamb was perfectly medium rare, tender and rich in flavor. No one wanted to share so I cannot evaluate any dishes other than my own. My beet and mushroom salad was sumptuous and stood up to my pinot noir. My delice a limone (sp) was tart and creamy and absolutely luscious. The best lemon dessert I've ever had, hands down.
Excellent dinner with great service and ambience. Will go back often.
The Masseria is just a great restaurant with fine Italian cuisine. The service was superb and the food just great: true Italian cuisine with very carefully crafted dishes. The wine list is very high quality. The attention level of service was in line with expected excellence. Very highly recommended for very demanding customers.
