Masseria dei Vini
Restauranteur Pino Coladonato, Peppe Iuele and Enzo Ruggiero have teamed up again with Interior Designer Libby Langdon, bringing you a modern update version of "Masseria". In the region of Puglia, in South Italy, Masseria were Fortified Farmhouses, and many of them now have been transformed into Restaurants or Hotels.
Executive Chef Pino Coladonato, native of Rutigliano (Bari), has created a menu that blends traditional with modern without overpowering one or the other.
The Menu features typical dishes from Puglia, such as "Crudo", the Italian word for "Raw", made with fish and shellfish, a lot of fresh homemade pastas and Ravioli.
The menu also offers Gourmet Pizza Neapolitan style.
The Restaurant offers an extensive wine by the glass program and a large selection of wine bottles, mainly from Italy, but without ignoring the rest of the world.
Excellent food and service. Our server was amazing.
An extremely pleasant environment and a pretty dining room. The food is not bad - but nothing distinguished nor particularly memorable... and the prices are not low...
Beautiful venue, efficient staff, delicious food.
Bland food - desserts were bland too.
Great food and helpful service.
I've only eaten here once so I hesitate to give five stars, but everything on our table was absolutely delicious, a little unusual in a homey way (like tender lentils in olive oil to accompany the excellent bread basket), and accompanied by prompt, professional, knowledgeable and caring service. My lamb was perfectly medium rare, tender and rich in flavor. No one wanted to share so I cannot evaluate any dishes other than my own. My beet and mushroom salad was sumptuous and stood up to my pinot noir. My delice a limone (sp) was tart and creamy and absolutely luscious. The best lemon dessert I've ever had, hands down.
Excellent dinner with great service and ambience. Will go back often.
The Masseria is just a great restaurant with fine Italian cuisine. The service was superb and the food just great: true Italian cuisine with very carefully crafted dishes. The wine list is very high quality. The attention level of service was in line with expected excellence. Very highly recommended for very demanding customers.
Relatives in from out of town
Always perfect for us
Everything from salad to salmon to dessert was delicious. The environment is warm, clean and inviting. Service is excellent.
Ate here prior to a performance at Lincoln Center in an attempt to move beyond the close by LC restaurants that we frequent. The high cost of just OK food doesn’t make this a destination restaurant.
Eating at Masseria dei Vini is always a pleasure for the quality of the food and for the excellent service.
This is the best Italian food I’ve had in YEARS. So incredible. Will definitely be my go to from now on.
The attention to detail and service was excellent! The waiter made excellent suggestions and so happy we took his recommendations. The food was so delicious. My only complaint was the very loud, very large table behind us which made carrying on a conversation difficult. They were celebrating the same as we were, so I can’t blame the restaurant. Would go back in a heartbeat!
Masseria and the staff always nail it. The food and service are exceptional !
Our dinner tonight was magnificent and the service by Riggo matched our dinner with magnificent service.
What a find! Walked from the Essex house on a rainy night(about 10 minutes), and we were rewarded with delicious food in a beautiful restaurant. The decor is upscale but all feels authentically Italian, from the food to the waitstaff. Service was fantastic. The cuisine and many of the wines are from Puglia, all amazing. More pricey than a casual bistro, but the prices seem appropriate for all that you experience. Will definitely be back.
Masseria dei Vini is a glorious little slice of Italy on 9th Avenue. I highly recommend it and the truffle pizza is a MUST.
Excellent service. We came in fairly late in the evening but we never felt rushed. Food was delicious - the fried zucchini appetizer and the ricotta cheesecake were amazing
The quality of food, presentation and service was excellent. I will definitely recommend Masseria dei Vini to my friends.
Authentic Italian food. Great service and Great selection of wine.
Frequent diner. Love the service and ambiance. A little disappointed this time with the Branzino and side of brussel sprouts. I felt the topping to the fish was too small and the sprouts were over done
The food is consistently delicious. The service is excellent
The food was AMAZING!!!! The atmosphere are service was fantastic! I would absolutely recommend this restaurant! Above all you MUST finish with the cheesecake!!!!!
Excellent food and service
Excellent restaurant close to Columbus Circle and Lincoln Centre. Great food, fresh past short rib ragu. Great wine display, hard to fault, as quiet as we ate at the end of lunch session. Would recommend.
Excellent this place is amazing great food waiters are so nice friendly great wine !!!
As always- Wonderful!
Service a little uneven. Intrusive at times (stopping by repeatedly when trying to maintain conversation) and then a little absent at others. Food solid though not inspired. Overpriced a tad for what it was.
Pricey food and loud ambience interrupted an otherwise enjoyable meal at Masseria dei Vini. $14 for a salad with just 4 or 5 leaves of lettuce left me annoyed, and this probably impaired the rest of my experience. The atmosphere is so loud that we couldn't hear each other speaking at a table of 5. The string beans with tomato were delicious; the squid ink pasta was fine but not memorable. The desserts were fair. Not my favorite restaurant by a long shot. But reliably decent.
Food was delicious and service couldn’t have been better!
Great food & service, casual, but classy atmosphere-good for family & friends dining.
I have always enjoyed this restaurant, especially when Carlo was the host. Since then things have not been as special. The major complaint/question I have is “why does this elegant Italian restaurant serve mashed potatoes on every dish.”Surely some imaginative Italian chef can think of something more fitting.
Food not very good given the price
Service very rushed
Mashed potatoes pea pods and shredded carrots served with all entres not very Italian
Food was simply amazing. Friendly staff made our dining experience wonderful. We had Masseria salad, seafood cavatelli pasta and cheese cake. All were perfect.
Really nice lunch with very attentive service. We all had different dishes and they were well enjoyed.
Food and service was quite good. The noise level in the restaurant, however, is way too loud. Almost impossible to have a intimate conversation for two let alone for a table with more than two individuals.
