Masseria dei Vini
Restauranteur Pino Coladonato, Peppe Iuele and Enzo Ruggiero have teamed up again with Interior Designer Libby Langdon, bringing you a modern update version of "Masseria". In the region of Puglia, in South Italy, Masseria were Fortified Farmhouses, and many of them now have been transformed into Restaurants or Hotels.
Executive Chef Pino Coladonato, native of Rutigliano (Bari), has created a menu that blends traditional with modern without overpowering one or the other.
The Menu features typical dishes from Puglia, such as "Crudo", the Italian word for "Raw", made with fish and shellfish, a lot of fresh homemade pastas and Ravioli.
The menu also offers Gourmet Pizza Neapolitan style.
The Restaurant offers an extensive wine by the glass program and a large selection of wine bottles, mainly from Italy, but without ignoring the rest of the world.
Unfortunately ate dinner here with friends on the night of the blackout. And I get it, the kitchen is closed and there’s not much that can be done. But the wait staff was all sitting outside, didn’t offer us anything, not even a glass of water or some bread while we waited. It was just poor service. Have eaten here before and the food was good but service is not.
Excellent food and service. Tables are not close together like most Manhattan restaurants. A bit pricey though. Great wine selection also.
Incredible from beginning to end
Pasta was amazing and so was the veal special
Service was exceptional
Ristorante davvero ottimo! Si mangia bene e i piatti sono davvero italiani. Lo consiglio assolutamente!
Always a wonderful experience... the very best of Italian Cuisine in New York
Enjoyed a celebratory birthday dinner on a pleasant Sunday evening. We ate dinner at the bar... the service was great, the food is always delicious and wonderful wine choices. Staff is very accommodating and very courteous. Masseria dei Vini never disappoints!
We ate here before a play. The location was fairly good, outside of the theater district, but close enough to walk. Overall we were disappointed with the meal but impressed with the service. We ordered the charcuterie plate and that was by par the low point of the meal. The cheese and meat selections were anything but interesting or even good. Our entrees were good but not great. Not a ton of flavor. But the wine was good and our server was very attentive.
This is our neighborhood go to restaurant. When just the two of us, we enjoy eating at the bar. When we are with friends we reserve a table...essential as the restaurant is always busy. We count on Masseria de Vini for good fish, pasta and appetizers . Service is generally very good and friendly.
Service was off, but the food was good. Just very overpriced
Americanized version of Italian - eg, Bolognese comes to the table already with lots of cheese in the sauce.
Lots of workers standing around but waiters who actually interact with customers seem stretched so service a bit inattentive and brisk.
Felt rushed. Not relaxing. Food just good enough but not superb. Pizza soggy in the center.
Yes with some caveats. It's not getting better from my past expereinces
Excelente! food was superb. Very light, well cooked and well presented. Beautiful laid table with incredibly clean table cloth and cloth napkins. Efficient and fast service
Outstanding service and nice decor. Perfect for a leisurely dinner. The food was fine. New York prices, however.
Very BEST RAVIOLI I’ve ever had in my life! Also the artichoke salad and the cheesecake were excellent! The atmosphere was unexpectedly extra uptown for this neighborhood restaurant and the service couldn’t have been better. We WILL be back often and I’m eager to recommend this restaurant to my most critical “foodie” friends 👍‼️
Overpriced and food was meh. Our waiter was awful. He read the list of specials as if he were a speed reader, and ran off, not giving us any time to ask questions or digest the list. Did not ask us if all was okay after food arrived; never checked on us. Was harried because all of his tables were outside and we were the only inside table and not friendly. Then he mistakenly charged us for two fish entrees. When we caught the mistake, there was no apology. Terribly disappointed.
Dependably easy and wonderful. What’s better than that?!
Great service and great food. The wood fire oven roasted eggplant special was a treat.
This is my third time here...good location and if in the mood for Italian it's the place to go!
I don’t believe in “5 stars” for the vast majority of restaurants and the next best choice offered is “4”, so that’s what I’ll give it, but the food was outstanding and much better than 4. Really good pasta and apps, very nice room and decor, somewhat pricey but worth it.
Love this place. So glad I discovered it. Delicious Italian everything with friendly, knowledge and attentive staff. A great dinner every time I go so far...
This was my second visit to Masseria dei Vini and it was terrific again. The delicious food was thoughtfully and authentically prepared and the staff was friendly and attentive. The only issue we had was that my dining companion and I ordered 2 appetizers, 2 salads, and then shared a pizza, but they brought the appetizers and salads together. We dealt with it, but we assumed that it was obvious that we wanted them spaced out into 3 courses.
I have eaten in this restaurant three times over five years while visiting. Each meal was superb. However, it is not for the single diner, alas. As I often travel alone , that is very frustrating to me. I almost skipped it tonight in favor of a more welcoming scenario. I would have probably missed a great meal. The wine list is truly excellent!
I would definately recommend this restaurant. Nice service and great food
Excellent food, service and atmosphere. Came with some out of town friends who said it was amongst the best meals they have had in Manhattan! Our waiter Mario was excellent, kind and accommodating! Will be back soon!
Special Birthday celebration. We all enjoyed the meal and service.
Upscale Italian with friendly professional service. Some creative dishes. Very good but not quite excellent food.
The ambience, the food, the friendliness of the staff, the cocktails were OUTSTANDING !!!!!! It is the BEST restaurant in the area !!!
Pork chop special was at top of class. hard to tell it wasn't a veal chop.....
Pasta's are amazing, fresh sauce/pasta.
Great service and waiter.
Always love this restaurant, never disappointed.
Wonderful service from start to finish - and the food was great too!
They do not serve authentic Italian food. Poor quality and too expensive
I was a little surprised when the pasta I ordered was very salty. They were very accommodating and professional on how they handled it. I like this restaurant will go back
Outstanding service, from the minute we walked in to when we left. Staff was very attentive but not overbearing, keeping the table clear, water filled, etc... Food was excellent, many wonderful dished to choose from, and was very pleased. My only "complaint" is that it is very noisy, making it hard to hear the others in your party. I think it may be because of the low ceilings, but it definitely is somewhat distracting
Service was slow, but the food was very good. Try a different restaurant if you are on a schedule.
Extraordinary restaurant with a magnificent staff. This restaurant is my secret. I hope not too many people find out about it. Excellent menu and great wine selection.
Our second time here and it did not fail to impress us. Our waiter, Mario, was attentive and extremely engaging. Great service and food. Our new "go to" restaurant whenever we are in this part of town.
Prices astronomical for the quality and quantity of food. Service slow. We will not be returning.
Another greta night...thx so much. Until next time. Barney
Authentic Italian quality ingredients. Food is very good. Pizza is outstanding.
