Masseria dei Vini
Restauranteur Pino Coladonato, Peppe Iuele and Enzo Ruggiero have teamed up again with Interior Designer Libby Langdon, bringing you a modern update version of "Masseria". In the region of Puglia, in South Italy, Masseria were Fortified Farmhouses, and many of them now have been transformed into Restaurants or Hotels.
Executive Chef Pino Coladonato, native of Rutigliano (Bari), has created a menu that blends traditional with modern without overpowering one or the other.
The Menu features typical dishes from Puglia, such as "Crudo", the Italian word for "Raw", made with fish and shellfish, a lot of fresh homemade pastas and Ravioli.
The menu also offers Gourmet Pizza Neapolitan style.
The Restaurant offers an extensive wine by the glass program and a large selection of wine bottles, mainly from Italy, but without ignoring the rest of the world.
Excellent service and the food was exceptional
Excellent and authentic Italian. Decent sized portions. The burratta for 2 was creamy & delicious. The tomatoes were the best we have had since our last trip to Italy. The Veal Milanese was very tasty. Margherita pizza was delicious...could have used more cheese. We would highly recommend.
Fabulous food get the masseria pizza as a must
It was a 10. Definately return.
Abbiamo scelto per la cena di San Valentino questo ristorante ,cibo buono e italiano ,servizio del cameriere eccellente con lingua italiana .Prezzo nei canoni della città
took my elderly aunt there.....stafff very helpful and frindly wit her.......food was very good with selection of specials........when is starts to get crowded it's a bit noisy but well worth dining there.......our waiter was very good and professional with a bit of fine humor....he did a great job will return
Overall nice experience, but the food was not a "knock your shoes off" level of food. Staff was attentive and friendly. A little pricey. Dinner for four with a bottle of riesling, one cocktail and 2 deserts was $363. Main dishes were a fish, a pork chop and 2 pasta dishes.
Food and service were absolutely outstanding! We thoroughly enjoyed our experience and look forward to going back.
One of my favorite Italian restaurants ... for good reason!
IT WAS GREAT!!!!!!
a great place for a leisurely dinner. The homemade pasta is wonderful. If you don't have it as a main course share it as an appetizer. The wines are all excellent. Ask the waiter to recommend one. You can't go wrong with any of the entrees.
Always Great food and service, you can count on it
Food and service were excellent. A little noisy but it has a positive upbeat vibe.
Great meal but needs more vegetarian and Whole Foods Plant Based options.
This is the second time we dined there and it was even better than the first time. High quality family friendly restaurant on the west side. Waiter (Santiago) was outstanding. Can't wait for our next visit.
Food was good, service excellent, wine list excellent, but price was VERY high for quality.
Amazing restaurant, the food is incredible and the service is flawless!
The smoked salmon risotto was fantastic. The waiters are very friendly.
My fav new Italian rest in nyc
Absolutely loved it. 6 main courses, 4 apps and dessert...it was hard to pick which dish was the best as all of them were fantastic.
Authentic, yet elegant. This was our second visit, and again the food was fantastic. The pasta with shaved truffles, in particular, was a huge hit with my dining companions. I had a pizza, and it was just the way I like it -- thin, chewy crust and fresh mozzarella seasoned properly. Once again, I was impressed with the wait staff. They were very friendly and attentive, the food came out promptly, and our drink orders were filled quickly. They also sang Happy Birthday to my friend in Italian, which was a nice touch. Love this place!
Wonderful restaurant serving authentic Italian food. Only an eight minute walk from Carnegie Hall. Service was excellent. The waitstaff worked with precision. Our waiter Gino was a delight! Amazing wine list. The lobster bisque was superb (best ever!) and the sea breem was perfectly cooked and beautifully presented. Highly recommend.
Masseria dei Vini THE BEST every single time! From the food, the ambiance and the warmth of the staff and surroundings. For any occasion too. I’m a regular and will stay a regular. Buon appetite!
Love it. My favorite place in all of nyc.
Having a meal at la Masseria dei Vini is a pleasure. The food is authentic Italian and the service is first class! They always accommodate me and my family with special requests.
It was nice having Masseria so quiet today. Sunday lunch without the crowds. Perfect for a meal with my parents. Great food, delicious food and everyone makes you feel welcomed. Thank you Masseria!
The main detraction to this restaurant is the noise level and the excessive pricing. They like a high end clientele and they charge appropriately. The food and service was lovely but not commensurate with the cost. I would return as it was nice but I do so with eyes wide open to the expense.
Third time we dined at Masseria dei Vini. And third time may indeed be the charm. The food was impressive as ever. The selections are varied so in addition to the array of pastas and veal entrees, there are plenty of seafood specials. Portions are plentiful and protein based meals are generously served with veggies and a carb. We preferred a table in the rear part of the restaurant and while it was crowded, the maitre d’ was very accommodating and obliged. Our waiter was not only knowledgeable, he was personable and appropriately present.
While I had the same entree as on a previous visit, it was because the chicken with shallots and mushrooms rocked. The rabbit at the next table looked tempting though. This time I had the dessert I craved last time but had to share the lush lemon sponge cake. So good! I had complained in my last review that the staff failed to say farewell. They warmed up this visit and kindly thanked us for dining with them. A perfect pre opera or pre theatre venue which I hope to make a regular treat and invite friends. Bravo to the Apulian chef!!
My family and I enjoyed dinner at Masseriz dei Vini very much. The waitstaff was very attentive and helpful.
I would say the dinner portions were a little small for the price. However, I noticed other diners plates when we were leaving and they had larger portions. Perhaps, it was what we chose.
The food was very good and the potato spinach gnocchi were excellent!
Masseria dei Vini is perfect. The variety of dishes is impressive and every dish is perfect. The staff treats you like family. I love it here.
Again great restaurant..but finding when booking on open table for 2 .we get the worst table . Always high traffic area or bathroom ....you get my point
The restaurant week menu is very limited. Overall, I do like this restaurant. Have eaten there before and would go again
Wonderful as always! Not to be missed!
Pretty good. Nice space, but mostly boisterous expense account white men. Food ok. No wood burning oven. Gas! Not the same. Sorry.
Ate there last night. Four of us, 2 friends from out of town and my wife. We have been to Puglia and were interested in trying a restaurant with that type of cuisine. Exceeded our expectations. We all had very different meals and loved each and every one. Best app was the Crispy Fried Zucchini. Swordfish was cooked perfectly. When asked how she wanted it prepared, my friend said "as the chef suggests". And he was spot on. I had the Gamberoni and asked that the heads be removed from the prawns. Loved the way it was cooked. Prawns were large and almost crispy to the bite. Wife had the Veal Milanese and our fourth had one of the pasta dishes. We finished off with the apple tart with raspberry sauce and cappuccino. Again, perfect.
Love the layout of the restaurant and the ambiance. Quintessential NYC restaurant that you would be proud to take out of town friends to. We will definitely go back.
Girls trip to NYC
Wonderful evening. The specials were terridic
The server had a perfect wine recommendation for us. Much appreciated given all the choices.
Solid Italian restaurant. Woke up the next morning still thinking about the food. Will definitely be back.
