Always a happy time and a delicious meal!
We love the Mason Street Grill and make a point to dine there whenever we're in Milwaukee. The atmosphere is inviting, the service very good, and the food is excellent. There were a few hiccups on our last visit, and our entrees were very, very slow in arriving, but the staff was very apologetic and provided free dessert and champagne as compensation. Despite the long wait, the overall experience was still pleasant, and our waitress was delightful and the food preparation and presentation excellent.
We had the deviled eggs and Maryland crab cakes appetizers, both of which were outstanding, as was the seafood gumbo. Entrees, although very slow in arriving, were worth the wait. The filet was excellent and the available upgrades a very nice touch, making a very well prepared steak even better. The grilled swordfish and Teriyaki glazed salmon were both excellent as well, as were the sides. The Mason Street Grill remains one of our very favorite restaurants, with a friendly and welcoming staff and truly excellent food.
My fiance and I celebrated our anniversary there. It was such a nice touch to give us a free dessert. Wish the drinks (specialty whiskey and such had prices). My fiance spent $38 on a drink that was just okay. We felt like we wasted $38.
Not real good experience. Went to the Mason St., Grill for my daughters graduation. We arrived on time order our meal and unfortunately it didn’t arrive for over an hour and a half. Once we got our meals we really weren’t that hungry because we waited so long but we ate I ordered ribs my daughter had a hamburger my other daughter had a hamburger my best friend had a steak we are potatoes. I didn’t want to complain but two of us were not satisfied with our mail we probably will never go back to the mason
We celebrated our daughters college graduation and we had an exceptional time. Sharon our server was knowledgeable, helpful, attentive and friendly. She answered all of our questions and offered great suggestions.
The food was outstanding. We all had various dishes so it was great that each of the six of us had a great food experience.
Cocktails and wine were also great.
Sadly our time in MKE is coming to a close due to the graduation but we have grown fond of the area and will be up often.
We will most definitely return to Mason Street Grill and request Sharon!!!
Thanks we had a great time!!!
Another great Mason experience. The usual “playbook”; greeted by very professional and polite valet attendant and hostess, proceed to table and introduced to John. Then Hutch makes his way to the table and we make introductions and chat. Order wine, meal and the rest is perfect. The meal, service, ambience and of course Hutch making sure everything is perfect. The entire staff including runners and water support have this tuned like a finely engineered automobile. Appreciate the continued great quality experience. Jeff
Another great visit and meal. Enjoyed the swordfish this time and was very good. John was our server and did an outstanding job as always. We enjoy his section where he is personable, engaging and very attentive. Great time and love this place!
Our waitress was very attentive and knew we were celebrating a special birthday and brought a “gluten free” dessert for the birthday lady.
We had a gem of a waitress, very friendly and efficient. The food was good and was served quickly.
Took my wife for our 16th anniversary. The food was excellent! The aged ribeye practically melted.
The restraunt provided a complimentary glass of champaign for my wife and I to toast our anniversary and an unexpected dessert at the end.
Our server was helpful and attentive without hovering. She was always right there when we needed something but never interrupted conversations.
Overall a wonderful experience.
Loved every aspect of this place. Service, food, wine list, bartender was great also.
My wife and I always come there because we enjoy the dining and the food. We've been there at least 10 times. But, the last two times we were there for the braised short ribs and the macaroni and cheese with my wife normally gets, it was not good and nothing like it normally is. They have been dry and not tender like they usually are in the mac and cheese was dry also.
PORTINS ARE OFF. I SELECTED THE SPECIAL GRILLED SWORDFISH BUY SEEING WHAT OTHER PATRONS WHERE ORDERING. MINE CAME 1/3 OF WHAT OTHERS WHERE SERVED. IF THE KITCHEN WAS SHORT OF THE SWORDFISH WOULD HAVE SWITCHED TO THE SCALLOPS. ALSO, A 20 MINUTE WAIT FOR US TO GET OUR ENTREE AFTER SALADS REMOVED. WE THOUGHT THEY FORGOT ABOUT OUR ORDER. SPENT $300.00.
Our server, Graham was fantastic in helping us decide on appetizers and wines. He was was very attentive but not intrusive.
Love eating at Mason Street Grill, best restaurant in town!!
Everything was excellent, we had delicious salads and fresh fish. Lauris (waiter) was friendly, gave excellent advice, appropriately attentive and the entire experience was just overall wonderful. Looking forward to our next meal there (June 8th)
Celebrated our anniversary at Mason Street Grill this evening.
We were greeted by our waitress with two glasses of champagne, and anniversary well wishes.
The food and service were excellent.
After dinner, we received a special dessert made for our celebration.
A memorable experience.
Perfect setting for a business lunch.
Great meal with attentive service - enjoyed the experience
Service was a bit slow. Was there for dinner and it was 2 and 1/2 hours. It was a Saturday night and it was busy, but not over-busy. Not sure if our server was new, had too many tables, and/or someone did not show up for work that night.
This restaurant was very friendly in both the hostess and the wait staff. They cooked the meals perfectly and delivered in just the right amount of time.
Absolutely delicious. Aside from the hostess leaving us standing at a table in the middle of the restaurant as we were waiting for another.... the waiter Blake was lovely and attentive. Highly recommend!
Not good. The wine list was extremely lacking, the vegetables were from a freezer bag and the mixed drink I ordered was watered down. Will never go back and would highly not recommend.
Place is always crowded for business lunches. However, the staff needs to know that some people may need to be in and out in an hour. It took over 1/2 hour to get our food. Not sure why, as we've been here before without an issue. Our server Lisa was very apologetic, but we had to take half of our food to go and eat it back at our desks. The rotisserie chicken club sandwich was very rubbery. Didn't need the kale on the mushroom and squash flatbread. Also the mushrooms on the flatbread tasted burned.
It was our anniversary and I mentioned that when I made the reservation. We pre-ordered the Tomahawk Ribeye for two. It was cooked perfectly and we enjoyed it along with soup and two sides. The bar was busy, but we were seated right on time.
Our family of six were celebrating a birthday and looked forward with anticipation to a wonderful meal at Mason Street Grill. 3 of our group chose a filet, a NY strip, and a ribeye. The presentation was unremarkable to say the least. There, on plain white plates, sat a slab of meat
---no garnish of any kind, not even a pennies' worth of parsley; no drizzle to add some character to the presentation; just these slabs of beef that made one feel that there was no thought at all as to how to properly plate an entree so that the presentation invites a warm feeling, tantalizes one's tastebuds and makes one feel that someone cares about the guest. Yes, the beef was tender but for $38, $48 and $58 respectively, one would expect much more than tender meat. The staff was solicitous and gracious, but something needs to be done about the presentation of the meals in a place that is priced as upscale.
Good food, excellent service, but Mason Street Grill is very pricey.
Always love dining at mason street grill. Food is always good but they really step things up when it comes to service. I’ve had great experiences with Blake and Elizabeth specifically but I’m sure the entire team is fantastic!
Honestly I think this place is ridiculously underrated in this city. The lack of critic acclaim seems almost political to me. It’s absurd that they are left off of local critic “best of” lists.
Never Disappoints. Always good service.
As we were going to theater, we wanted to eat lighter. The appetizer menu presents outstanding choices: Seared Ahi, Mussels braised in beer & Shrimp & grits- all wonderful.
Food was good and reasonably priced. The live music in the lounge/bar was FANTASTIC!! I ate in the lounge/bar and noise level is what you would expect with live music.
We were celebrating my wife's birthday at the Chef's Counter. What a fun place to watch a talented team perform. Our moderately priced bottle of Napa cab was peppery and delicious. Cheese strudel off the Chef's menu was a flakey, delightful app. We split a perfect Caesar salad with real anchovies, so often overlooked. My wife had scallops. I had sole, mine off the Chef's menu. We both raved about the freshness, flavor and top shelf presentation. Mason Steet Grill is known for fine cuts of meat, but don't forget the exceptional seafood! Apple crisp a la mode (cinnamon ice cream; so good) with glasses of house cab topped off an evening we both thoroughly enjoyed. This establishment is one of Southeastern Wisconsin's best!
We always have a wonderful time and a delicious meal at the Mason St., Grill!
We were staying at the Pfister, so this was convenient. Overall it was a great dinner.
Great! Our Server Graham was awesome! Memorable and happy with our choice to celebrate anniversary at the Mason Grill! Thank you!
We went there before a show at the Riverside. We told them in advance, so the server immediately asked when we would like to leave to get to the show. Because we had just over an hour, we didn't order a bottle of wine - but from previous visits, know their bottle wine list is nice. We also didn't have any appetizers. The women in the group both ordered the chicken dumpling, which was great comfort food. The men both ordered the burger. One really liked his, the other did not - too much on it to properly eat it. Plus he probably should have ordered his medium-rare instead of medium as it was more well done than he liked.
The restaurant got us out with plenty of time to walk to the show. Nicely done.
We were seated at a table that was shared with 6 other people but asked to be placed somewhere else and it was done without any questions which we really appreciated it. Just wanted more privacy and less noise
Great for a business meal. Very quiet with great food. I also have several food allergies including gluten and dairy and they were easily able to modify most dishes. Fantastic steaks - mine was medium rare and it was cooked to perfection.
Excellent French onion soup.
The 64 hrs. Braised short ribs were so delicious ...64 hrs of pure perfection!
My waiter Brady was very helpful, personable and pleasant. Thanks for the great service!
Amazing ambiance and the jazz trio was very good.
It’d be very nice to offer the option to have gluten free bread with my meal.
