Wonderful food and drinks! Although, we would have preferred the bread basket be brought to our table when when we were first seated, rather than when our entrees were served. Our waiter John was great.
Food was excellent but very pricey. Nice wine list, but again, very pricey.
Besides the food and ambiance, the service was amazing. Our waitress Elizabeth was so sweet and accommodating. She really made the experience complete!
Great food and Service. Always feel welcomed and pampered
Great dinner service, food and waitstaff. Some of the hosting staff’s outfits were super short and super tight - more typical of a club than a high-end steak restaurant.
It is one of my favorite spots in town. The chopped salad with grilled shrimp is to die for! Our server was very knowledgeable and attentive, but not overbearing. It was--and always has been--a pleasant experience.
We celebrated our wedding anniversary at Mason Street Grill and it was amazing. Our waiter was great and the food was perfect. Can’t wait to return!
A little pricey but loved the food . Drinks were delicious also.
My friend and I had the New York Strip. We both ordered it done medium fare. His was just right. Mine was hardly pink in the middle. When the waitress finally stopped by everyone was almost done with their meal. She offered a new one but it was too late. All they did for me was comp 2 drinks.
I didn’t think this was appropriate for a $45 steak
Very high class special place.
poor service seated at 715 pm waitress came with water not back for 20 mins had to inquire is any specials were avail bread basket came at 810 then appetizers at 8 30 our dinner at 905 pm. Husband steak was to be med rare but it was med ++ mine was fine had to remind waitress for our sides.... i know the time because i am diabetic and have to know when i eat mu meals was not happy. they comped us 2 drinks!! after spending 75 on one steak i felt that was an insult other than a fair way to shut us up never going back!
I'd rate this visit 2.5 stars if i could, but I'm rounding up because we were there at one of the busiest times of their week. I expected MUCH better service. The food was fantastic. Our server, Heather, was very good, but overloaded. Mason Street is typically a fantastic restaurant where the higher cost is justified by the quality food and service. Not this time.
The good: We had lobster gespacho, trout, scallops and brussel sprouts. All very well prepared. The line was backed up but even the scallops were at temp with great texture. The trout was bland, but passable.
The NOT good: It took almost 30 minutes to get a bottle of wine. We were already considering switching to glasses because we were running out of time to enjoy a bottle. They didn't have the bottle we requested. Heather brought another bottle saying "My manager recommended this 'comparable' bottle that is a few dollars cheaper." Unfortunately we realized too late that while the same grape, it was not even a close style match (more syrupy fruit, where we chose the original for it's mineral characteristics.) It was obvious that wine wasn't Heather's area of expertise. Normally I'd expect a restaurant like this to send a sommelier or manager to recommend an alternate.
Another annoyance was water. My water glass was almost empty for long periods of time. Normally trivial, but again, the service was not in line with expectations. Especially since we were at the chef's counter with staff passing by constantly.
My final complaint was when we needed the check, the floor manager seemed like he looked right through me several time as I tried to get his or the other manager's attention. (Again, we are right across the counter from the line.)
Overall, we left having enjoyed the food, but felt that this time, the experience didn't live up to the final bill.
Went there for our anniversary. Server was very personable and knew that we were there for a special occasion. She offered us complimentary champagne, which we didn't prefer, so she brought us a surprise dessert, personalized for the occasion. It was a wonderful surprise! My wife and I had steaks, which were excellent. I would definitely return!
This was a lunch visit with two friends. This place never disappoints. One of the best Burgers I have ever had. My friend's Lobster Salad received raves. Server anticipated every need.
Service was attentive but not intrusive. Food was excellent. Noise level allowed for easy conversation and competing with nearby tables.
Mason Street Grill never fails to provide an excellent dinner. This is one of my favorite restaurants. I was there for my 51st birthday celebration and intended to have dessert, but was not able to eat another bite; however the chef provided a dessert for my celebration I plan to have my birthday celebration dinnes at Mason Street Grill for years to come.
Outstanding as usual.
Terrific food, excellent service. Was conscious of our need to be done by a certain time. Highly recommend.
It was my birthday and my sister in law treated me to a memorable evening. The Teriyaki Glazed Salmon and snap peas were to absolute die for. The carrot cake topped the meal off perfectly. And the Intrinsic wine...what I can say other than "it's the best of the wine" in my book! I had my first glass of Intrinsic last year during a visit to Mason Street Grill. Since then, when I want a "nice" glass or bottle of wine, that's my choice!
Heather, our server was professional, well versed on the menu and very attentive.
It was a perfect evening at Mason Street Grill!
Great service and value. Bone in Ribeye was the best I've had and both steaks we ordered were cooked to perfection (medium-rare). Staff is very friendly and helpful. Great experience for any occasion.
It is always a pleasure to dine at the Mason Street Grill. The food is delicious, the location is perfect, and the staff is wonderful in every way they can be. I in all my friends always have such a good time here. Thank you so much.
Their food is always great and the service wonderful!
I requested a quiet booth for a birthday and received it. An excellent meal, as always. It’s no wonder it was bustling, even on a Monday night. Definitely my favorite restaurant in town.
Enjoy mason grill
Elizabeth and Chris are excellent server especially Elizabeth she makes you feel special and we enjoy talking to her!
Had a wonderful time as always great service and great food
The service was the best. Very friendly and helpful. We had three of our party with food allergies and they were well taken care of. a special dish and a special drink was created for two of them.
the food was DELICIOUS! Look forward to going again.
Great food great atmosphere only issue was fries came out after steak.
Picked this spot because of other good reviews. They did not disappoint. Service and food were excellent! We had the Kansas strip and the burger and the pasta. Our sides were Mac and cheese, creamed corn and potatoes. All cooked to perfection. We will definitely be back.
Fantastic food and service. One of the best meals I have had in years. Sit at the Kitchen table if you have the chance.
Mason Street Grill is, without a doubt, one of the top restaurants in Milwaukee. There's nothing about it that I'd change. Food, food prep, presentation, service -- all are superb.
As always, a delicious meal in a classy and comfortable setting with a noise level that encourages relaxed and enjoyable conversation.
Service was charming and thorough. The special attention was just the right amount. We sat at the chef's counter, but were too cautious to veer off the main menu, it was our first time there. Next visit I would feel confident to try anything. Filets were melt in your mouth perfectly prepared. Ample and good to the last spoonful sides. The Carrot cake was not one of those overly iced pumpkin spiced abominations, this was the real deal. Not one misstep all meal long.
Made the mistake of ordering ribs. Worst ribs I’ve probably ever had
Everything except the ambiance and the noise level was first rate, but those two factors changed the entire experience from outstanding to less than it should have been for the prices charged. Granted it was a Friday night around 8:00, but the music was so loud we had trouble talking at our table for six. The loud music forced everyone to shout, adding to the incredible noise level. As we looked around at other tables, everyone seemed to be experiencing the same discomfort, and for no reason! The tiny dance floor in the next room did not need that much volume to provide music for the dancers! I would recommend this restaurant for the food, service, menu selection, drinks, but NOT as a place to try to enjoy a friendly dinner out with friends, relatives or business associates with whom you may wish to have a less-than-shouting-conversation. Overall, I don't believe it is appropriate for the Pfister Hotel, and the next time I have an event that I'd like to book at the hotel, I'd make dinner reservations at someplace nearby.
It was, as always, a wonderful treat. Everything was perfect.
Great time at he Mason grill. Knowledgeable
waiters. Great cocktails. It’s a fancy upbeat place so don’t expect this to be a diner with those prices. Nevertheless the best steak I have had in town and for a while. We had the NY strip and the Filet De Boeuf. Cooked perfectly. Great salads too. The sides are very filling and generous too. Manger came to table as well to ensure all was good. Was a great meal.
Great steak and overall meal while staying at the Hotel Pfister which is attached to Mason St.
Graham was fantastic and the food was everything we hoped it would be!
Blue cheese salad dressing was dry salty and overpowering. Steak and fries were ok
Great place, guests loved the gazpacho
