Our group of 3 had a very pleasant dinner. We were pleased with everything, especially our waiter, Chris. We come to Mason Street Grill after our REP plays on Sunday afternoons. The Sunday Night Special dinners are especially appealing to all of us. Keep up the good work, and the great food.
We started our evening in the bar. Very well stocked and the bartenders are very well trained. We sat at the chefs counter and it was a perfect place to watch the entire kitchen staff working like a well oiled machine. Our appetizers were wonderful and our dinner was excellent. The entire staff made our anniversary very special.
We went for a special occasion, it was definitely the right place. They have live music from 6-11. The waitstaff was very friendly and knowledgeable. The food is expensive, very good but expensive. The steak was like butter, perfect. You get a lot in the sides, it turned out to be too much food. It was fun, we really enjoyed it.
I always go here when I'm in Milwaukee. It's the best!
Had a wonderful time as usual. You can “set your watch” to the consistent service, food and overall quality. Hutch runs this place like a Swiss watch. Everyone is on their game nightly. Waters full, plates cleared and wait staff never missing a beat. John was an amazing server. Attentive, conversant and always prompt and professional. Grady stopped by to say hello and it’s nice seeing the consistent team that truly understands customer service. Great job. Food was amazing - bone in ribeye is amazing!
Arrived at 5:30 with reservations. They seemed to be still setting up the dining room for dinner. We were seated at a nice booth with a good view of the kitchen. It took 10 minutes to get water and for the extra place settings at our table to be removed. It took 15 minutes to get a drink and 20 minutes to get bread. Our two medium filets arrived with a large trio of side orders. The one half of one filet was medium-well done but the other half was medium as ordered. The other filet was medium as ordered. The flavor was very good. The truffled cream spinach, garlic mashed potatoes, and the asparagus were all very good. The server surprised us with a piece chocolate cake and a piece of carrot cake and two flutes of champagne as we were celebrating birthdays and a retirement. Very nice touch to a special meal. The server was quite polite and was there as needed. Overall the meal was good. Next time I’d specify more directly the desire of the steak to be cooked medium.
Ambiance and service was excellent. Food was good but too expensive. Wine and drinks were small. Overall, not worth the price. There are better steak houses for less $.
We sat at the counter for a quick meal before theatre. The staff was very responsive and kept a close eye on the time. The food (filet & scallop special) was perfectly prepared, and the side of bernaise sauce was a perfect complement. This remains one of our favorite Milwaukee restaurants.
Our server, Michael, added to the enjoyment of our experience. We were celebrating our 50th wedding anniversary and Michael's professional, friendly attention and the wonderful food made it special.
Food was off. Waiter forgot our appetizer order.
Grady was wonderful and remember us from last time we were there.
I appreciated that we were seated right away despite being 30 minutes early. Very good service and the perch sandwich was quite good. In hindsight, the volume at lunch was higher than I would have liked given that we were discussing business, but a great experience nonetheless.
We went after the Rep with friends. Was able to have a cocktail at the bar before being seated. Bartender did a great job on drinks. We all had the set menu, very good food for a great price. We'll be going back again.
We went to the restaurant for the first time to enjoy the Veal Oscar. Was told there was no crab meat left. Ordered a filet Medium and it arrived Well done.
Never saw a manager the entire night.
Was also told that there was no asparagus.
This is ridiculous for this caliber restaurant to run out of food items 2 hours before closing!
Paid $200 for a meal that was filled with frustration and errors.
The tomahawk steak was the best steak I've had in my life. Perfectly done medium rare, the right amount of char on the outside, well seasoned, juicy and tender. It was sized for two but I bet I could have eaten a whole one myself, it was that good. (They only serve it on Saturdays, on other days I imagine the ribeye would be the closest thing.) The rest of the food was good too (especially the blood orange panna cotta for dessert) but the steak was far and away the highlight.
Our server Graham was very knowledgable in all wines and foods that were presented, excellent!
Great steak and service jazz at the bar. Wine selection and craft cocktails also great!
We love this resturant and have been here before. We also love trying new fish fries with friends. We love the food ,creative and well prepared. That being said don't try the fish fry. Horrible and disappointing. We enjoyed the leisurely meal, unfortunately our wait person was gone for long peroids
Loved everything about the evening. For some reason I had not eaten here for awhile...so glad we came back. Sharon, our server, was outstanding. Started with the Ahi Tuna appetizer which I'm still dreaming about 3 days later! I enjoyed the Scallops, my husband the Halibut and my daughter a steak. The filet was a little overdone which was immediately noticed by Sharon and my daughter. They took it back and the manager came and apologized. Soon after a perfectly cooked steak was brought to our table. Shared the carrot cake which was outstanding. Great place and will be back soon.
The service was excellent. Our waiter went above and beyond to make our dining experience exquisite and memorable. The food was well prepared, good mix of spices for added flavor. Slightly above average pricing for food quality. Great atmosphere. Highly recommend for a special occasion.
Terrific food and service! Only negative is that the lighting should be a little darker
We wanted to go here on New Year's but they were booked. Were in town for medical reasons and made reservations here. We were not disappointed!! Everything was amazing and our Waiter Michael was very knowledgeable and friendly. Highly recommend!
Tight quarters so it is always pretty loud. Food is great and service is always top notch.
The food was excellent and their steak did not disappoint.
The other two people I came with were a little disappointed with their fish. It was dry and tough- a bit over cooked. One of them sent it back and another plate was prepared for her.
We enjoyed our evening at Mason Street! Our server, Brady (?) was spectacular and really elevated the experience from good to great! He had excellent recommendations, was attentive and made sure to be respectful of any time constraints we might have for other activities that evening (we didn’t). Very enjoyable night out!
Adam was our server and he went out of his way to make certain that all our needs were met, and then some. Great food, excellent experience.
We went before attending a play, everything was great till the end. We couldn’t get our server to bring us the check so we could pay up & make it to the play. The restaurant filled up after we were served & she apparently got busy. I’d ordered coffee with cream, by the time she brought the cream, I was almost finished with the coffee.
It was everything I would expect from a fine dining establishment. Just a wonderful evening. Kudos to Grady, our server. He was OUTSTANDING.
We visited Milwaukee this past weekend for a belated Valentine's holiday getaway and decided to dine at Mason Street Grille at the Pfister hotel. We have dined there once previously with a larger group and enjoyed the experience so thought we'd give it another go. We were looking forward to a cocktail at Blu, and also the jazz trio in the restaurant bar. Unfortunately, our restaurant experience this time around was a bit underwhelming. We arrived a bit early and were told as we expected, that we could find a seat in the lounge and that our table would be ready closer to the 7pm reservation. Fine by us as we were ready for a glass of wine and found a seat near the 3 pc. jazz trio as we'd hoped we would. However at 7:10, with no word from the hostess, my husband checked in at the stand. He was told that, 'oops, we tried to find you but must have missed you. We will have a table in just a minute.' Interesting as we were seated in clear view of the hostess stand and we never saw anyone walking through to check on us....we believe they forgot. A moment later we were told our 'table' was ready. We were escorted to a tiny table for two which was wedged in next to a very large, boisterous party of 8. If we had walked in off the street hoping to luck into a table, this might have been acceptable. However, with reservations made 30 days prior with a request for a quiet 'date night' seating, we were not happy. With no apologies after we expressed our dissatisfaction, the server moved us to the only other table available which was just off of the hallway to the banquet rooms and restrooms. This was slightly better due to being more comfortable but disappointing. I highly doubt we will be making reservations with Mason St. in the near future. We've been to establishments with lesser ratings that have had far better customer service and attention to detail.
First time here I really enjoyed it. We sat at the chefs table seating... it was very tight.
Food was very good, definitely will return!
Our waiter was AMAZING! His knowledge of the menu was unbelievable! We enjoyed ourselves! I got the sea bass... it was slightly undercooked. I didn’t say anything. I ate 80% of it. But for 48 dollars was a little disappointed. My boyfriends steak was absolutely wonderful! There was a head boss/manager floating around in the background... approx 50 years old in a suit. He wasn’t exceptionally friendly... he did address customer’s request to recook their food next to us. But overall he didn’t present himself with a warm presence. First time at restaurant and hotel. Would go back for sure!
So delicious and great service! Perfect for a cozy date night.
Perfect for lunch. Always a solid bet on the Mason Street Signature Chopped Salad.
Very attentive service. We sat at the chef table. We felt a little bit in the way.
The food was delicious. A bit pricey. We'd come back for a special occasion.
I always receive great service and the food is always made to perfection. The waiters and waitresses are always helpful at the knowledge of the menu and providing additional options for their customers.
best time I've had in a restaurant ever very happy with the experience
Babacue shrimp, was dry and salty; it seemed like it was precooked shrimp, instead of fresh raw. The other 2 dishes were good. Total of 4 people.
The food was amazing along with the drinks and atmosphere. They staff was friendly and attentive as well. It was nice to see the manager interacting with guests too. Would recommend to anyone, will definetly be coming back in the furture.
We were very disappointed in our experience. We had multiple food issues that needed to be attended to and I don’t believe we have had to send anything back to the kitchen for years and we had 3. We will not likely return which is unfortunate as it used to be a favorite.
