Mason Street Grill Ratings and Reviews
Really enjoyed our meal here. First thing they did was ask if we were there for a special occasion. When we indicated we were seeing a show at The Pabst, they made sure to note the time and stayed aware of it. The menu options were plentiful, service was friendly and timely, and the food was great. We'll definitely be back.
You know the rest of the story... dined with my daughter, had the “usual” steak and chopped salad. Makenzie has the petite fillet and chopped salad. It was amazing! John, our server is always engaging and very efficient! We love hearing about his latest ventures in life. Hutch does the usual “stop by” to catch up. It’s always very pleasurable speaking with him. He’s a new dimension - Brain the valet was very personable and efficient. The night was freezing cold. He had the car pulled around quickly and warmed up. See you next time!!
Wednesday night with family from out of town. The waiter was very attentive and professional. He made us feel important. Our entrees (salmon, steak, and pork porterhouse) were very good. The side dishes (green beans, potatoes, and roasted mushrooms) were also very good. It is a high end restaurant which is now on our special occasions list.
The food was very good. The service outstanding. The noise level a bit much, and it's a place people like to be seen at. So you've got a good thing going. And it is on the pricey side. Paying $100 for lunch for three....so every-now-and-then it's worth it, or to reward an employee for special efforts on the job.
Service, drinks, and ambiance were amazing! I had the petit filet which was cooked perfectly but didn't stay hot past my second bite. Others in my party said the salmon and chopped salads were great! Our waiter gave me a special birthday dessert on the house which was very nice of him. I will go back!
I am a "regular" at this fine establishment. I absolutely love this place from it's location, ambience, food, service and management team! We had delicious steaks that were cooked to perfection. Our server John is the best in town! He is always consistent, professional, engaging and attentive. He "makes the meal special". He will always find something to talk about that is engaging and fun. Whether it be sports, vacation, general conversation he makes the dining experience pleasurable. Hutch ("the man") is always "on his game" as well. He always stops by to check in, shoot the breeze and makes you feel welcome and valued as well. The support staff is attentive as well. Waters never below 1/2 full! John and Hutch should get "players of the week" awards and stars on their helmets!! Great job again..... Jeff
The location is great: you need to walk over to the lobby of Pfister hotel and enjoy the old-fashioned boutique hotel. The place is a standard steak house. The steak was fine, but in spite of being having nice color, was somewhat dry. The ceasar salad was not good at all: very finely chopped, lemony and wet.
Excellent food and service. Recommend Mason Street chopped salad - enough for two to share as appetizer. Petite Filet was fabulous! Saturday night Prime Rib included baked potato. Valet parking. Full bar. Tons of desserts. Extensive wine list. Folks dressed up but others in jeans on Saturday night. Interior decor is traditional steakhouse with both tables and booths.
Excellent service Waitree was very attentive and chatty she knew about local beers and drinks from local distilleries
Food was sub par given the very high prices The salmon was cooled well but Luke warm My wife's trout was done but felt like it had been sitting under a heat lamp too long
Meatball Seyer was ok Cheese sauce was pretty good but the balls were pretty flavorless
Four of us had reservations on a Friday night. Two of us had eaten here several times, while the other two were newbies. We were all delighted. The bar was packed and noisy, with a great jazz group playing. We were seated promptly and our server was attentive, but not overbearing. Unlike the bar, the dining room was calm enough to hold a nice dinner conversation. Food was fabulous—NY Strip, Braised Short Rib, Ribs, Creamed Corn (to die for); we thoroughly enjoyed every last bite. Oh, and I’ve got a weakness for their spicy cheese flatbread in the bread basket. The manager stopped by a couple of times, and it was obvious he truly cared about our experience. He’s a role model for anyone who wants customers to feel appreciated, and he clearly sets a classy, yet genuine tone in the dining room. There are enough items on the menu to appeal to a group, but it’s not one of those ridiculously long tomes. Prices are on the high side, but the quality and great preparation justify them. Strongly recommend!
The trout was as good as I have had anywhere. The drinks are always excellent and right to order. We waited quite awhile before our server came to our table while a half dozen servers were standing against the wall but Elizabeth made up for the slow start with outstanding attention to us and to detail. My colleague enjoyed the Cesare salad. Overall up to the Grille’s good standards.
Enjoyed the atmosphere immediately walking into the bar. The food was phenomenal, and the wait staff was more than friendly and professional. Went for an anniversary and got treated like the center of attention. Got to speak to Greg Marcus before leaving and he was respectful and a pleasure as always!
Mason Street Grill is always wonderful! I've been here countless times for many years, and the food, atmosphere, and service are second to none. It's easy (and fun) to run up a significant bill, but they also offer a Prix Fixe on Sunday for an excellent, but more budget-conscious experience. You won't be disappointed.
We were spending the night at the Pfister Hotel with our kids as a special getaway over a long weekend. Decided to eat at Mason Street Grill when I saw they offered a $25 fixed price menu option for Sunday dinner as well as a $22 bottle of their house wine. My husband had the chicken and I had the steak, both were tender and flavorful. The Cobb salad and chocolate cake were delicious. Our 7 and 9 year olds had cheeseburgers and fries and a kiddie cocktail. The service was first rate, the atmosphere was elegant with an energetic vibe. We had a superb time and our bill was extremely reasonable at $98 given the upscale setting.
