Mason Street Grill Ratings and Reviews
The group all had steaks. All thought they were very good, not over the top outstanding.
Service in the bar was slow. Only a single bartender who was also waiting tables in the bar and folks eating at the bar. Drinks were very expensive and not much cocktail in the glass , all ice. I had three manhattans and only the last one was a reasonable drink for the price charged. When paying $10 for a drink, I expect a full glass.
What a fabulous dining experience! From the moment we were greated until we left the dining experience was excellent. Our server Joel was awesome and the entire group loved everything from our creamed corn and brusselsprouts appetizers all the way to the desserts. Thanks for a great evening!
Mason Street Grill always is hit or miss and last Saturday was a miss. Shrunken overcooked steak, loaded baked potato with only traces of any load, cold broccoli pieces for a very unimaginative piece of fish. Our kale salad allegedly had dressing, we only found traces of it. Service was great. The wine list comes on a tablet and is short and has variety. Prices for wine are not too crazy. Food is overpriced - I also didn’t see any vegetarian or vegan options. My request for no butter or oil on the fish was also well executed.
You MUST ask for Michael as your server. Finally a server with a delightful, yet professional personality. Such a joy! This was our Thanksgiving meal so we decided on the fixed price meal selections which not only were delicious but large servings, too! My prime rib was a bit fatty but it was covered in cooked mushrooms (due to my gluten free request) which really made my meal so tasty. Thank you to Mason Street Grill for having a flourless chocolate cake for one of the dessert selections. (Naturally gluten free!)
Really enjoyed our meal here. First thing they did was ask if we were there for a special occasion. When we indicated we were seeing a show at The Pabst, they made sure to note the time and stayed aware of it. The menu options were plentiful, service was friendly and timely, and the food was great. We'll definitely be back.
You know the rest of the story... dined with my daughter, had the “usual” steak and chopped salad. Makenzie has the petite fillet and chopped salad. It was amazing! John, our server is always engaging and very efficient! We love hearing about his latest ventures in life. Hutch does the usual “stop by” to catch up. It’s always very pleasurable speaking with him. He’s a new dimension - Brain the valet was very personable and efficient. The night was freezing cold. He had the car pulled around quickly and warmed up. See you next time!!
Wednesday night with family from out of town. The waiter was very attentive and professional. He made us feel important. Our entrees (salmon, steak, and pork porterhouse) were very good. The side dishes (green beans, potatoes, and roasted mushrooms) were also very good. It is a high end restaurant which is now on our special occasions list.
The food was very good. The service outstanding. The noise level a bit much, and it's a place people like to be seen at. So you've got a good thing going. And it is on the pricey side. Paying $100 for lunch for three....so every-now-and-then it's worth it, or to reward an employee for special efforts on the job.
Service, drinks, and ambiance were amazing! I had the petit filet which was cooked perfectly but didn't stay hot past my second bite. Others in my party said the salmon and chopped salads were great! Our waiter gave me a special birthday dessert on the house which was very nice of him. I will go back!
I am a "regular" at this fine establishment. I absolutely love this place from it's location, ambience, food, service and management team! We had delicious steaks that were cooked to perfection. Our server John is the best in town! He is always consistent, professional, engaging and attentive. He "makes the meal special". He will always find something to talk about that is engaging and fun. Whether it be sports, vacation, general conversation he makes the dining experience pleasurable. Hutch ("the man") is always "on his game" as well. He always stops by to check in, shoot the breeze and makes you feel welcome and valued as well. The support staff is attentive as well. Waters never below 1/2 full! John and Hutch should get "players of the week" awards and stars on their helmets!! Great job again..... Jeff
The location is great: you need to walk over to the lobby of Pfister hotel and enjoy the old-fashioned boutique hotel. The place is a standard steak house. The steak was fine, but in spite of being having nice color, was somewhat dry. The ceasar salad was not good at all: very finely chopped, lemony and wet.
Excellent food and service. Recommend Mason Street chopped salad - enough for two to share as appetizer. Petite Filet was fabulous! Saturday night Prime Rib included baked potato. Valet parking. Full bar. Tons of desserts. Extensive wine list. Folks dressed up but others in jeans on Saturday night. Interior decor is traditional steakhouse with both tables and booths.
